What is the point of having a loser MC his character never actually develops?
>chapter 1: I'm a loser and I have no friends >final chapter:I'm a loser and have friends
The main reason why I dropped MHA is because I had a strong feeling Deku would follow this route and by the end of the series he will still be the same crybaby he always was.
I never got this criticism of Deku. I mean yeah he’s definitely timid but the kid was willingly breaking the bones in his fingers and arms just to make a point.
Jacob Ross
The ideal route would be Deku having this development
and adults that live in a perpetual state of mental teenagerhood
William Gonzalez
The worst part is Tsuna didn't recognized Reborn's adult form because of some silly joke.
Kevin Young
I don't think the creators think about those people They just make it for teenagers Who would want an audience of manchildren. But at least if it helps them experience teenage life which they never had maybe they could start to grow out mentally from this state
Even the grandfather of the battle shounen genre has this problem
>becomes king and is considered the greatest fighter that ever lived >still is a coward with no self-confidence and throws hundreds of chapters worth of character development in the trash in a single page
why wouldn't they? Manchilds usually have more money to waste than teenagers
Benjamin Smith
Is KHR worth reading in any capacity? Up to a certain arc or something? It looks pretty cool, but I know it has a lot of problems
Oliver Ward
>the kid was willingly breaking the bones in his fingers and arms just to make a point. This is literally worthless though. Every single MC does the equivalent of this. Tsuna gets "severely damaged" when he uses the Rebuke Bullet the first times, but he still does it because "muh friends".
It doesn't change the fact that he has zero growth as a person and is the same disgustingly pathetic worm on Chapter 1 as much as he is on the last one.
Gavin Bell
Don't even think about it, its a waste of time, if you're interested in fight and shit even axed mangas like beelzebub have more appealing things to get into.
Grayson Torres
The anime is top kino for a while, and the Varia arc is still one of the best "tournament" arcs I've watched in the battle shonen genre. The first 18 episodes are just character introduction comedy and you can just read the manga instead, but as soon as it genre shifts into an actual battle shonen (Rokudo Mukuro Arc) then it becomes top kino.
You can just drop it after the Varia arc. It peaks there and never goes back.
Grayson Rodriguez
Do you remember how long into the run is that, like is that the first few arcs, or 2/3 in or what?
Jayden Carter
I remember that the comedy episodes end around episode 18 or so, the Rokudo arc is like 5-6 episodes, and then the Varia arc is like 20 episodes long.
I don't remember the exact number of episodes, but it's not too many.
Isaiah Rodriguez
No one wants to do anything with mentally underdeveloped people
Bentley Foster
Varia arc ends around ep. 50 I think. Then the dreaded and never-ending Future arc starts.
Josiah Bell
That's why I only read manga where the MC is a chad right from the get go. Pic related would be a pretty mediocre series that's not worth of anyone's attention if we weren't living in era where chad MCs are dying breed.
I don't trust any japanese writers that panders to hikkis and teenagers to actually write a compelling character development since their target demographic is only interested in perpetual stagnation.
Its one of those, it had a lot of really neat ideas and character designs but all wasted, so much that you'll hate yourself for ever liking any of it. The anime is full of shitty comedy filler that's almost unbearable to watch with a bit watered down fights. The only pros to watching the anime is that hype as fuck soundtrack and god tier OP/ED's. or seeing more of your waifu
