I think given the fact that Kazuki is 14 and the fact that Enta's betrayal really hasn't been worked out between the two of them yet, Kazuki's reaction makes sense. I’m not sure about that but he’s pretty much set on getting his way and isn’t afraid to drag around and use other people for it. I'm curious what we're getting next episode because Kazuki's been pretty cold to Enta the whole show. I'm not sure if its because Kazuki doesn't think about Enta, or takes him for granted, or what. We know a lot about how Enta feels about Kazuki, but not much about how Kazuki feels about Enta so I wonder if that'll change.

If we assume we get flashbacks of Enta or something and Enta reappears by the end, it's not too much of an Enta shaped hole plotwise.

He represents a moral stance versus Kazuki and Toi going with the flow and doing criminal things for those they care about, which is ironic because he is the one who ends up 'betraying' the others out of feelings of jealousy. He is set up as a light vs dark comparison for Toi, and when the story says 'Only bad people survive' Enta gets shot in that episode.

Enta represents an 'objective good' even though he is a flawed human who obviously makes mistakes.

He also knows the most about the other boys, having had conversations both with Toi's brother and Haruka about the innerworkings of them both.

I think it's obvious Kazuki takes Enta for granted, probably because Enta has never given him any push back. Instead of Enta being seen as particularly friendly or anything before the betrayal, it just became a baseline. Poor Toi and Enta have to put up with a particularly dense motherfucker though. There are stories that take these perspectives and approaches to romance and do it well, that's not my issue here. I think Kazuki's attachment to Toi would've been more acceptable if it wasn't one of the many new things thrown at the viewer given the show's short length and the actual small amount of content we get outside of the trademark Ikuni repetitive sequences. Sarazanmai overall keeps introducing new concepts and ideas and doesn't really dedicate time on expanding upon them due to the aforementioned, and when you include Kazuki's overall inconsistency as a character I just can't see what him and Toi have going on as something natural.
I don't really have a stake in the romance/shipping debate, I just think the conflict between the boys, much like all the other aspects of the show, could have been addressed so much better with a 2-cour series

I feel like Kazuki's character arc was mostly done by episode 6. I think the last three episodes will focus on getting the dishes back and Kazuki choosing to use them to save Enta rather than helping Toi.

I don't think so. Kazuki seemed like he wasn't going to listen to anything Enta said, and Enta was trying to lie and say he hated Kazuki. Kazuki would have just left Enta there in a miserable heap if the cops hadn't shown up. Maybe they would have talked later after a lot more feeling angry and shitty, but Enta getting shot was a trigger for Kazuki to realize what connection they had to lose.
