SnS is one of the few Shonen Jump mangas i followed since their oneshot, and now it's one of the oldest in jump just under One Piece, HxH and Haikyuu. Fucking F, even if it turned to shit down the way, at least we had some laughs, right?

He learned a lot of shit from studying there and even up to RdC he kept learning, it was at the end of the RdC that he went back and threw away all his character grow to the trash, but until then Thotsuki really helped him to grow.

I honestly don't know if I want to see more blatant fanservice but I wanted to see it stretch out a bit more to fully develop every master and their disciple but that would've took a while considering they had a whole new armed division to introduce. I have never seen a manga crash as hard as Soma in JUMP. From a 10/10 to actual fucking trash. Not even Beelzebub or Nurarihyon crashed this bad. Rip in peaces Soma, thanks for the memories, even if they weren't so great.

I just don't understand. The Moon Tournament was so strong, they had established a strong supporting cast, a good cast of girls, a neat little twist on the usual Shonen rival by having a trio that had both respect and rivalry in regards to each other, and two and a half fucking years worth of in universe time to work with. What the fuck happened? Did he need to rush the big climax because the top Seats needed to be beat, but were about to graduate? What the fuck?

He probably thought that Azami and having your cast go up against opponents who were established to be far superior to them were great ideas.
Probably also thought that the fans would love it if he softened up Erina with her tragic backstory too.

Erina's backstory is the most cliched, pathetic, milquetoast shit of all time.

Yeah, I have no clue. This series could have easily coasted along just being what it was in the first few arcs.

Like what the fuck is wrong with the old concept? There are 10 super awesome cooks to beat, plus erina and your dad. Get strong over the course of a few years and beat them. Why is that so hard? You don't need to be subversive. Just play it straight.

Problem is with introducing the E10. The powerhouses were the top 5 third years and they were already on their way out the door so if they had waited until their 2nd or 3rd years, they'd never get the chance to face them.

I would've bought it if it was at least set up properly way ahead of time. That kind of backstory was a pretty big fucking deal but it didn't jive with her established character at all. The Erina from up until the Moon Banquet felt like a drastically different character from the one that showed up at the Polar Star Dorm when Azami took over.

Make it a story point? E10 each beat Souma in something and then graduate. So now he tries to catch up to them and find what he was lacking. Considering that school was already inviting their alumni for tests and camp bringing them back won't be a problem. You also won't need to have the stakes be through the roof and would actually be able to leave a chance for Souma to lose.

I unironically don't want this to end just yet. I'm gonna miss this series.

USELESS character. She showed promise mid-manga, and has potential to grow. But she went back to following Souma around like a useless puppy complete with the standard T-Rex hand pose. She stayed that way and will continue to stay that way because that's what she is: useless cannon fodder.

Erina is going downhill too, but Japanese fandom love Erina so unless she becomes outright evil, she can do no wrong in their eyes. Erina has been on the top for so long, the only way to salvage her character is to drag her down. It's too bad the author doesn't know how to handle it right.

Characters had their moments from chapters 1-130 where we saw a variety of styles/dishes, settings, etc. and the series felt pretty fresh. Souma literally did everything himself after that though and it slowly became stale.

Give me a rundown.
Did anything happen to that NTRing Souma 2.0 guy? Did Erina finally fall for Souma? Did the cooking get better or at least is decent?

>enter BLUE
>BLUE format is different and has the "evil" chefs battle against regular or "light" chefs

>Headmaster of WGO (who is also the organizer of BLUE) made this special format because he thinks "light" chefs are too vanilla, and are using them as sacrificial fodder for the dark chefs to power up and "create a dish the world has never seen before"

Boring chapter. Good riddance to this shit. I can already make out the remaining three chapters. Epilogue shows a canon Sorina, maybe timeskip and marriage and if so then they’ll have a son that looks exactly like Soma unless Tsukuda goes the Kubo way and gives him the face of Erina to make him a mix of both parents. We’ll see Megumi and Takumi and Hisako and Alice and Curry and Dog and a few more characters, but don’t expect the previous E10 or the likes of Shinomiya and Hinako and their generation cause that’s too many characters unless we get two chapters for the epilogue. If not then Tsukuda goes madman till the end and leaves it an open ending.

It would’ve been so much better if we actually got some flashback chapters about Soma's development in response to his mother's death but no we only get the superficial "I remember my mom and now I win" bullshit.

I don’t know. Part of me doubts it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s obviously Sorina or nothing if we get an endgame, but it’s zero-sided even now and the “build up” doesn’t even feel like build up. It feels more like bait. Soma realizes her beauty? Great, but gets over it just as quickly and isn’t more conscious of her in the slightest. Erina describes her kind of guy? Sounds like Soma, but it’s not expanded on and she’s not more conscious of him despite the possibility of having buried feelings for him. Jou mentions the “find a woman to cook” line again and Soma still doesn’t give a shit.

This is some pleasantly surprising optimism for a shokugeki thread. Have it your way then.

Central arc was a masterpiece compared to what came after, with the exception of one thing: Erina becoming Headmaster instead of 1st seat. Think of how much better this fight at BLUE would be (and make sense) if it was seats #1 and #2 facing off against each other.

Erina becoming headmaster was the TRUE beginning of the end.
