Arguing about what is "canon" or is "not canon" is a completely fucking useless argument since at the end of the day they're not a part of the main story and most likely will bear little to no impact on it unless Hori decides to reference any extra material in his manga, which he could do at any time.
Basically the manga trumps any side material that comes out, and if it doesn't contradict with the manga then it can be considered what we westerners call "canon".

I'm pretty sure that Japanese fans have a concept of canon even if they don't have the specific word. After all, fans and merch-makers clearly make a distinction between filler and material based on the Manga.

To add on to this, this whole concept may seem rather unsatisfying to us westerners because when it comes to our story-telling, we like to have things very cut and dry, with clear boundaries, laws, and neat endings that tie up any loose strings to get a satisfactory feeling of experiencing a cohesive story.
Japanese, and to a greater extent eastern asian, sensibilities and to a further extent, their stories are the exact opposite. They're often vague, purely contextual, open-ended, and bittersweet. I mean ffs their entire language and culture is based around non-confrontaion, life's impermanence, and ascribing deeper meanings to every little fucking thing.

Trying to get a straight answer or pure facts out of Japanese media is Sisyphean task and not worth it.
