What killed the hype?

What killed the hype?

There was no hype.

There was never any hype. People are more hyped for fucking Jujutsu Kaisen than this schlock.

The art is such a gooey mess i can barely understand whats going on

I wasn't really hyped rather than curious.
Kishi probably never has to worry about money again.
So if he started a new series it must be because he really wanted to tell this story, rather than needing a new paycheck, because all his Nardo money ran out.
And Naruto was actually pretty decent untill pain in my opinion, so this time he should have enough experience to learn from previous mistake and he should have enough say to tell jump to fuck off when they ask him to extend the story as long as possible to rake in dough.
Combine these facts and I was actually pretty interested to see what S8 was all about, but I am not impressed as of now.
Maybe he is going for a sliwburn since he has enough prestige to not fear the axe, but as of now it's pretty weak.

Its trash with only kishi name on it

Chapters 2 and 3 were about some random tranny.

It's boring.

the art is messy and convoluted, the story generic and dry

>Kishi probably never has to worry about money again.
Early retirement isn't a thing in Japan, no matter how much money you have if you are not working you should commit zudoku

Title: Argument between Father and Son
Daruma, "Not too long after this, the planets around here will be destroyed. And the one who can save this is the one who's called the Pandora box and seven keys. I have been finding for 50 years and cannot find anyone. And I have found one now, which is Hachimaru. "
Hachi dad, "No, he should be the one to be protected."
Daruma can't seem to find a consensus with Hachi’s dad.
Hachimaru then comes back. He wanted to go walk in a different direction, but his dad stops him and demands him to stay indoor.
Then father and son argue, dad went back room. There's a memory recall saying, "One day I will finally catch him."
On the other side, Daruma ask Hahci about his favorite number. Hachi of course says 8.
Then Daruma sheathes his sword, and the floor cracked open on the count of 8.
It's the Vajrayaksa sword technique. What a samurai wants to do it's all decided by his or her own will.
Daruma says, "I will be leaving this planet soon. If you can go across this line, I will pass all I've known about yaksha technique to you. You can then choose if you want to stay here and live peacefully with your father."
Hachimaru says, "you were already my sensei, Daruma sensei

shounenshit like everything else

The tranny. The whole reason I stopped reading Western comics years ago was this cheesy stuff. Japan usually handles these subjects better but this was just too cringe and obviously part of a political agenda.

It's simply not impressive. Honestly, these first few chapters are worse than every established series in current Jump.

kishimoto

You never read western comics, faggot. There is hardly trannies in western comics. Also stop with whole nonsense that media only recently has agenda.

I don't care about agendas, I care about forced agendas you tard. I also still own some 10,000 Western comics (mostly from pre-2014 or so when I stopped collecting). A lot of them were very political but that was the point of them. It's when that shit gets shoved into the mainstream and treated like it's revolutionary that I draw the line. I like my tranny stuff to be handled in something that can deal with the material in a non-trivial way like Zankyou.

The shit artstyle, crappy first chapter and a horrible sense of how to make unique looking shit.

The tranny and the weird ass art

Me

There's nothing standing out about this at all, whether it's the art or the story.
The only thing this manga has going for it is Kishimoto's name recognition.

Jujutsu deserves some hype.

Beast Children was better.

the Japanese version of soulless

>first two chapters
>pretty cool concept, characters make sense, MC is likeable, the situations are fun, lots of potential, artstyle is neat, looking forward to where it goes
>third chapter
>SAMURAI CHEESUS, LE CHOSEN ONE LMAO, DA WACKY OP PEOPLE FALLING FOR EM CEE, LOOK FORWARD TO MORE MC JUST OWNING GOD
Not sure if there was any hype to begin with but i'm done for, there was literally no reason to add that shit to the story.

>buzzwords
>buzzwords
at least try, user

this. It's usually an overstated meme complain when people say that art looks so bad it makes their head hurt, but trying to read the first chapter of S8 literally gave me a headache because of how confusing and bad it is

there was no hype just curiosity, also the art is a fucking mess. This artist should learn from Kubo and draw cleaner backgrounds.

the tranny shit

chapter 1, after Hachimaru stopped being a cripple and turned into a super samurai.

who the fuck writes like this? this is like Naruto mastering the kyuubi on the first chapter

Attached: rtrt.jpg (1280x720, 214K)

What's even worse is that he got all the character development that Naruto had to earn over 700 chapters handed to him in the span of ONE chapter.

Art looks like a blended slop. The backgrounds are detailed but I can’t tell the fucks going on

if it wasn't for Kishi's name, this shit would never have been published

Kishi went SJW on WSJ kek

It would have been published, but nobody would have cared. It's really sad to see people all over the internet picking this up because it's muh kishi while ignoring kimetsu, dr.stone, act-age, jujutsu or chainsaw man.

The art is kewl in that page desu

Togashi did it first.

So far im not that concerned about the tranny more than being concerned about the quality of the art(i like the theme and designs but the artist need to improve) and the fact that the story isnt that iteresting till now. As long kishimoto keep the teanny being tranny irelevant except to make the tumbrs asshurt then im fine with it(like how sui ishida did it with mitsuki or w.e the name was)

There's nothing so far that makes you want to follow the story. Main issue of the mc has been resolved already. Not only did he already obtain a super samurai body, apparently being a vidya nerd also makes him awesome at combat right out of the gate. So there's no character based hook, revenge, dream, ideal, not even "I wanna be Samurai King" or somesuch. So how about the world? So far we know nothing about it, no factions, no political landscape. I guess there's a pandora box with 8 keys that'll become relevant at some point. It's ok that there's not already some nemesis looming on the horizon. Many shounen adventure series take a few volumes to introduce some overarching crisis, but there has to be at least something about the characters or premise to make you think "I'm gonna follow this for now", other than "it's by Kishi, he's gotta have a plan, right? Right?". And holy fuck, hire an assistant to do the screentones for ya. There's gotta be enough money for that at least, or learn to do proper hatching and contrasting areas to add layers of depth. Without it, it looks like a paint by numbers coloring book.

>dr. Flop
Lmao fuck off

There was hype?

super samurai bodies are boring,
where's the tension of getting a limb cut off if you're practically immortal?

It's not bad but it just feels like Naruto again.
Even more so than BNHA and BC.

The official scans are way better in that respect, fan translated versions aren't even worth reading for this.

>while ignoring kimetsu, dr.stone, act-age, jujutsu or chainsaw man.
Ah yes, ignoring all these series that have been extremely popular, some in spite of niche subject matter or weird premises.

I read some chapters of dr stone.. he is such a redditfag that it makes the series unreadable for me unironically

Yeah the pain arc was pretty good, and it had a talk no jitsu that made sense and was great. So I know with proper planning and experience Kishi can make something good

It's just not interesting at all. Art being a mess doesn't help.

It's okay and has the feeling of being written by a mangaka who is both experienced and 1000% sure he's not getting axed, but it's pretty eh/10 so far.

Hachimaru is kind of a blank slate still outsiide of being a nice guy, which isn't great since they really could've pushed him being NEETish a bit more. His transformation from a housebound dying kid to samurai basically robbed him of everything interesting about him.

The art is bizarre. It's not offensively ugly like Bort's art- in fact it's clean as hell, but still incredibly cluttered and impossible to visually parse. It's like looking at a fucking magic eye poster; if you lose focus for a second you almost can't make anything out and have to basically stop, close your eyes, and refocus to understand what the fuck is happening. Get this guy one more assistant and dedicate him to shading, or just go fullbudget and color the whole thing because it feels like that's how it was designed to be.

If it gets an anime and a not-shit studio (not happening, since it'd almost certainly be Studio Clown) it'd probably look dope.

Hachimaru's promotional art all used his disability machinery nicely, I'm so surprised it was instantly gotten rid of. They based his entire character on a dilemma that no longer exists, so what the hell is he about now?

This is the problem with s8 right now imo. We dont know what the MC' struggle will be (in shonen terms) since he is neither a castout cryfag like naurto.. a retarded cringe kid like deku or anything like that. Hashimaru is just a strong nice kid who became an immortal samurai in the first chapter. So either Kishimoto has some really nice ideas to spice up the story or this will be the shitiest manga that was made by an established mangaka. But im here for the art designs anyway so i dont mind sticking to reading it for more chapters

People only cared about it because it was Kishi's

It's kinda strange that Kishi stumbled on making Hachi interesting. Any mc needs some kind of goal that he can strife for. "I wanna be pirate king", "I wanna find my father", "I want to become Hokage", "I'm told to stop Dakki from ruining the mortal world, but I actually want a relaxing life", "I wanna become a boxer and store huge amounts of oxygen in my muscles". Hachi doesn't really have personal stakes atm, because the one he did have was fixed in 2 chapters flat. I'm sure he'll go on a journey to open that cosmic box thing, but so far he lacks something that makes me wanna root for him.

There wasn't even much hype, at least not from this board.

While the official scans do look way better I do think that even so the flow of the panels can be confusing at times. Maybe it's better on the physical magazine? I don't know.
