eh while like i said some things were better in the 2nd movie vs the tv anti spiral arc, overall the pacing and added deaths were better in the tv arc. i actually felt the intended "oh shit" feeling when makken, jorgun, balinbow, iraak, zorthy, and kid all got fuckin iced in one episode, and rossius redemption was way too compressed in the movie to have any real weight. also i actually felt that the kinda slower pacing of setting up the initial stakes in the tv arc was better

I think the team getting/not getting killed both work in their respective format. The former because of what you said and that the series is more focused on Simon and the latter because it felt to me at least that the movies wete putting more emphasis on the entire team which then all culminates into the STTGL scene.
I totally agree with your point about Rossu though.
Also its a shame the movies didn't have Kiyal go into space like on the manga.
