The Major is a borderline mary sue, hyper competent, master level hacker, tactical espionage, detective work, and combat.
Section 9 is made up of the people she deemed able to keep up with her while she does 80% of the work. If a women could do it, she would have hired them.
Stand Alone Complex is kino. There really isn't any GitS media thats bad, just different. SAC 1 I think is a better story than SAC 2, but SAC 2 has much better action.
Even Arise isn't bad. It just takes things in a bit of different direction and tone. Overall bland, but if you want more GitS, its there.

Why the fuck would gender still beva concept in an age of cyberization. I nean there's no need to procreate when you can skirt death by transferring into prosthetic, which ultimately means procreation becomes a relic of the past.

GitS is set at the early stages of cyberization. All of the members of Section 9 are basically military experiments. Full body cyberization isn't commonplace, I think The Major is the only one even depicted in all of GitS. Plenty of cyber brains, but thats mostly just putting a bunch of hardware around the wetware.

I'll meet you halfway, and say that as a fan of the movie and SAC, I was disappointed.
There was no need to go high-concept when the baseline of the world is already so interesting.
And using the CGI felt like a philosophical, rather than a production decision.

I remember it had a remix of an Imagine Dragons song in the trailer and I never heard anymore about it.
I was pretty hyped about playing as a section 9 operative or something but it seemed to just vanish.

In a sense yes but the fact she have years (decade ?) of combat/counter-terrorism experience and she's a full cyborg compensate that and made it okay. Not like some character that are new at something and are automatically the best at it because they are special.
