Horribly wasted characters
Jonathan Davis
Aaron Ward
He didn't fucking deserve it, part 7 is godly good but fuck the threatment Sandbro got, he appeared twice and the second time was just to die. Hot Pantsu got it pretty shitty too and her backstory was told awkwardly.
Andrew Butler
Treatment*
Fuck
Blake Ross
Anthony Gray
I still believe that the dead Sandman was from a parallel universe and got switched with OG sandman
Lincoln Kelly
Considering he calls himself Soundman instead that's believable, but it wouldn't make much sense for Valentine to switch the two given that Sandman was already foreshadowed to have a Stand in chapter 1
Sebastian Morris
>Haha this character got killed off panel"
That's not any better
Lucas Rodriguez
That's like half of the characters in SBR
Dylan Walker
how did people think he was gonna be the main villain?
Lucas Smith
Ethan Powell
He's the first character introduced, in the first chapter of SBR, to be honest
Ryan Nelson
Nah he was good
Cooper Foster
Shouldn't have sold out to Valentine then.
Calls the White Man for his world of money and then turns a 180 on his entire outlook by renegotiating with Valentine for money on his tribe's land if he won.
Noah Martinez
He specifically got exiled by his tribe because he was the only one who understood the value of money. Him selling out to Valenitne makes perfect sense.
Nolan Foster
Purple Haze is my favourite stand in part 5.
His original story where he comes back to kill off the gang would have been better, but whatever.
Daniel Cook
Carter Baker
how exactly would "fugo reveals he's evil, maybe ganks narancia or something, and then giorno mudas him into the pavement because he already found a perfect counter to his stand" be interesting? that kind of shit happens all the time in battle manga
meanwhile a character making the extremely rational call to assume that sometimes it doesn't matter how much you want it, trying to do something will get you fucking killed, and just politely bowing out of the story is something much less common
Matthew Rodriguez
He was going to be sent to finish the gang as proof of loyalty to Diavolo. Araki didn't put it in 'cause he felt it would be too sad (at that time).
Just would have been nice to see him used again for a mission he would've felt conflicted about, since it's not like he wants to go and murder his friends.
Benjamin Cook
I thought making his fight so early was brilliant. We were so used to Jojos only fighting forgettable fodder in the early sections of a part that having a huge character like Sandman fight them instead was great.
Xavier Allen
Colton Taylor
Most of the tailed beast hosts in Naruto.
Ryder Cox
Asher Perry
>Exists solely to job to Griffith
I hate how Berserk has turned out so far. I just want to see Guts chop Griffith and the Godhand into pieces.
Jaxson Morris
The whole Kiznaiver cast.
Sebastian Ramirez
I love SBR but the only thing I can outright point as bad is the way many of the character Arcs end or get resolved — the final few Arcs, whilst having great fights, weren’t that narratively satisfying (I’m mostly referring to HP, Diego and Sandbro)
Ethan Rogers
I n a b a
Josiah Walker
That entire show was a huge letdown. The premise was interesting with a decent cast, but had no clue where they wanted to take the story.
Jordan Smith
>a huge character like Sandman
user... it was his second appearance.
Mason Gonzalez
Ok Mr. Speedreader
Jayden Richardson
>(I’m mostly referring to HP, Diego and Sandbro)
Likewise, I feel the same way
Nathan Foster
Realistic injun, no noble savage just an asshole.
Joseph Diaz
Okay, tell me about all the development written for Sandman and how he tied into the overall plot.
Cooper Barnes
>X-X doesn't matter unless it ties into the overall plot...
You've literally never read Jojo.
Andrew Walker
Don't put words in my mouth. I'm not saying Sandman doesn't matter solely because he doesn't tie into the overarching plot. I'm saying he doesn't matter because Araki didn't write shit for him: an intro that served more as an intro for therace, his fight and that's it.
Though, while we are at it, in every other part except DIU every fight did tie into the plot, mainly from the main villain sending assassins, so now I am doubting that you read Jojo.
Blake Johnson
dumbfuck
Elijah Bailey
Dayah-kun~~~~
Nathaniel Wood
The thing is Sandman was a step up from those fodder villains who appeared out of thin air and had no presence in the story prior. At least Sandman was a leader in the race and interacted with Gyro and Johnny a few times. Also Gyro's entire arc was about the race, which Sandman was winning.
Luke Morales
>Watch part 5 with an anime-only
>They think Fugo is going to come back as an antagonist
Jaxon Anderson
There is nothing more beautiful than the look on an anime only's face when they realize the guy with the binoculars is Polnareff.
Landon Cox
Soundman emerged between two objects, just like D4C works, and Sandman showed since the beginning that he had sand powers instead of sound powers.
Chase Turner
This series has too many to list.
Leo Carter
This is true.
Was even better than when my friend learned that Doppio is Bossu-chan
Kevin Baker
>Emerges from two objects
>Valentine is right there and nods right before he shows up
>Diego couldn't smell him
>Starts calling himself Soundman
Yeah it was pretty obvious
Alexander Edwards
>and the second time
what are you talking about?
it wasnt him on the second time, it was alternate universe version. This is the reason why DInO couldnt smell him before he appeared between two objects through the power of Valentine, Sandman was killed off-screen. Soundman took his place. Its normal for people to miss this though cause you only get to know Valentine power much later after this but it becomes very obvious once you think about it/read the manga a second time
Luis Davis
lol nevermind, just saw that it was already mentioned in thread. still fucking waste of a character
Ryan Gutierrez
Jace Price
He most likely only did that cus ''it's how things happen in Westerns'' and not cus it makes sense for the characters or any sort of hinted arc they were building towards. Look how mundane those deaths were! Ain't that just like real life?? Yeah, sure! The entire cast could've fallen off their horses and wiped on the spot at some random point and that's The End for the story, how bold and subversive Araki-sensei!
William King
Mountain Tim's death was very western-y and still felt satisfying
Diego, HP, Wekapipo, and Sandman just felt like Araki didn't give a fuck
Camden Powell
i second this
Noah Peterson
Oh yea, I'll give you that one, but I was mainly referring to the rest of those ''prominent'' chars the previous post mentioned. He's just riding off the assumption that only because it's sudden or mundane, it's good cus you don't expect it.
Justin Hill
Says no one but one.
Diego's death is literally my favorite in all of Jojo, for example, I thought it was executed perfectly and never once did I think about muh epic subversion while reading those chapters.
Justin Price
>Says no one but one
No one but you*
Fucked that one up, oh well.
Luke Bell
Then he comes back again later anyway.
The point is that he uses it too oftenly when writing characters who are set up like they're gonna be having some sort of development, then offs them when his interest drops.
Caleb Morgan
Come on Diego's death was cool
Ethan Mitchell
Fucking this, the amount of interesting characters that pop up and get discarded in a whim is ridiculous
Kyo never
