It transferred from a seinen magazine to a shonen magazine near the end of its run, so it's one of those rare examples that count as both.

I always felt that it was a little too violent and the plot was a little too meandering and unfocused to be a shonen, but hey I guess the end results speak for themselves

In a universe where death isn't a big deal the plot twist is not when people die but when they don't return, like the cross eyed goons whose heads stay in Hole.

Idk it's hard to split this story to seasons because it doesn't really have arcs. Feels like En's death is kind of the end of the second of three acts but then when you really think about it the third act is when Hole manifests. This Manga really is adaptation hell like the other user said.

Maybe they'll give it a multi year anime like Hunter X Hunter and Brotherhood got. If they try to cut shit and condense the story like they did Golden Kamuy it'll ruin part of what made the manga so special. It's plot develops so slowly that condensing it would make it a nightmare to follow.
