Weakest character in the group is treated as a comic relief sidekick but has objectively the strongest technique

No anime ever does this, but its a really cool idea

I dropped this series after the first tourny since what's his name won all his battles by dumb luck.

What did they do next? Kill someone off for drama and then magically bring them back to life several volumes later?
Fuck that shit.

I was still pretty pissed the basically writ him out of the show though. That was fucking bullshit and no amount of "MUH DEMONS" will it make it not.

Three kings was definitely the weakest point of the series. The real tragedy though is the fact that you only get to see kuwabara use his new sword like twice. Unless you count the OVA, in which case he gets to use it for like 5 seconds.

If you're referring to Kuwabara, he loses most of them.

Why didn't Toguro just dodge?

He thought he could tank it

As a kid I thought Kurama is a girl and developed a crush on "her". Fuck you Togashi, you dumb hack.

As a kid did you also not understand basic pronouns and the constant usage of the word SON? Because you're a retard.

The 4 saint beasts arc was so fucking boring, should I continue?

You couldn't possibly make a more retarded post if you tried, you underage shounentoddler.

My friend doesnt really like the 4 saint beasts either.
Keep going until you get to the dark tournament because thats generally everyones most favorite saga

Would Okuyasu from JoJo part 4 fit this?

literally every fucking shounen does this shit see And Krillin from DB/Z/S with Destructo disc/Kienzan

There's no way you can mistake Kurama for a girl unless maybe if you're autistic. What shonen has girls dropping gallons of blood and the audience cheering it on like it's something normal? None to my knowledge.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kuwabara would be top tier if he had a proper master.

Doesn't Okoyasu fit the bill?

Destructo disc is a strong move but goku still has stronger techniques. The destructo disc stopped being theoretically stronger than a kamehameha when cell tanked one.
Jojo part 4 and YYH are pretty similar, okuyasu and kuwabaras powers are similar too. But yeah, he definitely counts.

>destructo disc stopped being theoretically stronger than a kamehameha when cell tanked one
Yes, an attack used by someone at least 1000x weaker than you will do no damage. Who would've thunk it?

Compare that to someone like kuwabara or okuyasu who can theoretically beat any opponent no matter how strong they are in terms of raw power, just because their techniques are ridiculously good.
Even in dragon ball, master roshi with the evil containment wave would be a better example of such a technique.

Bleach was full of these techniques, at least half the bankais and bankai equivalents from the final arc could do crazy OP shit like instantly behead an opponent.

>when cell tanked one.
Didn't that only happen in the anime? The real thing that kills the technique's usefulness is every fucking antagonist after Freeza having bullshit regen anyway.

He wanted to die to Genkai's successor

Because he never dodges anything, he's meant to be a tank.

Rando arc was just asspull city. O MY ACCIDENTALLY FALL INTO A SWAMP followed by O MY SWAMP ALGAE

YOURE

MESHI

Yusukes first few fights are definitely just him winning through luck, but i kinda like that. It gives the series a more grounded feel during the spirit detective saga.

Kienzan was a cool technique but due to its strong nature it's just doomed to pretty much never work because it would finish fights too quickly
Usually when it does hit the enemy has regeneration that makes it completely useless or some transformation that will heal them anyway
It did work against Freeza, but he was the one that threw it in the first place and Goku actually warned him that he was about to get hit by his own attack

It only picks up when Toguro shows up and then it goes downhill again when he dies

But he's shown to be a resourceful fighter in the same space like when he ricocheted his spirit gun on the mirror treasure to deck Hiei or when he used the cigarette Genkai threw to mark that martial artist who conveniently had a blindfighting helmet

Toguro's objective was to measure himself against Yusuke. He probably could have dodged. But to dodge the attack would have implied he perceived himself to be weaker (or at that moment, more vulnerable) than Yusuke. So he chose to test himself and tank the blast. This decision cost him the fight, but ironically allowed Toguro to experience a level of combat "beyond 100%", which was his true objective.

In other words - that last spirit gun represented the ultimate challenge Toguro had been seeking. To dodge the blast would have been the equivalent of talking smack for a hundred years, only to run away after sizing up your opponent.

Yeah, that shit pissed me off when I rewatched it

Chapter Black is better than Dark Tournament IMO. At least it is until yusuke gets his power up, which was admittidly bullshit but the whole beginning sequence with the house and the three psychic guys was absolute kino

The tone shift going from standard shounen "we gotta beat the demon and save our friends by winning the tournament." to "I saw recorded footage of the worst attrocities mankind has ever committed and now I want to genocide my fellow humans" was pretty cool.

Genkai was like my dudes you need to worry about non powerlevel powers but Sensui was just power wank anyway

I agree that Chapter Black had its moments but the Sensui fight shit the bed so hard I think it retroactively made the whole arc worse for me.

Doesn't Jojo with the Killer Queen villain do this? The character is an imbecile, but his power is overpowered even at long range.

I dont even think the fight itself was the problem. But the lame trope of 'yusuke you are the demon now' was kinda dumb and its pretty much just a setup for Three Kings which is the weakest arc.
The whole fight in the cave was fine.

O

HOHOHOHO

>yana copies yusuke
>now sensui has to fight two yusukes
Why didnt they just do this?
I will never not be mad at kido, kaito, and yana never being used again, but consistently showing them in the intro as if they were now part of yusukes friend group. They didnt even get to be reoccuring background characters.

They did try to help here and there but in the end they either jobbed to make the enemies seem stronger or just got benched for most of the arc
Pretty ironic when they got introduced to show Yusuke and co. (especially Hiei) that power levels aren't everything

Kira isn't an imbecile. He's one of the smartest in the series.

No but he killed the comic relief guy who had a pretty good stand

Kek, what a retard.

They did though, Yusuke fought that dude he couldn't just rei gun cause he could snipe and throw explosives at him and that guy in the hospital who tried to mind fuck him into killing him.

Araki has said Okoyasu is inspired by Kuwabara, except he doesn't do as much even though he could erase most of the villains.

Kuwabara

>who is Yamcha

They basically say Yamcha's energy manipulation for his Sokidan/Spirit Ball is very difficult to learn but he's always treated as a joke in the series.
