While I do enjoy Sensei as a character, this whole Student x Teacher thing is just a gimmick which will never bear fruit.

Excatly, look how Fumino was introduced in chapter 1 and is the worst written character in the manga.

The order is kinda based on people's reception to the chapter, the editors' feelings on how well the manga doing, other series being present or absent, being on a color page (color pages have to be at specific orders in the manga), and a whole other bunch of factors.
Usually, high ranks can correlate with the manga doing well so they put it up front, the manga needing a push so they out it higher, or the reception to that chapter being good so it got a high "rank". Manga that rank lower consistently correlate with being axed or just doing badly, like how shokugeki did well then the ranks slowly got lower as the arcs went on. There are reasons for it getting lower, theres no one reason to it but factors for it can be assumed (and with good reason). Older manga can freely rank lower, however, because it can also mean that they don't need the push anymore or it was just a bad chapter for the time. All in all, the ToC can be indicative of a lot of things but the primary use for it is shitposting and speculation.

For any series older than 50 chapters, ToC is a meme. That means my dear Chainsawman is in danger but that's how it is.

The more I think about it, the less it makes sense that Fumino and Uruka are in this story even. If we strip away the harem hijinks, the crux of the manga is the debate about relying on your talents vs. pursuing your dreams, which means Uruka has no conflict in this story because her talents align with her dreams. While Fumino is included in the debate, only her stance is emphasized on during the story and she shows nothing in the development of her dreams besides test points. Compared to Rizu who wants to study psychology because she wants to understand people better and as the story progresses she slowly does so, mere points are incomparably meaningless.
If we discard them, the remaining haremettes are Rizu who wants to pursue her dreams even if it means going against her talents, Sensei who believes throwing away your talent is wasteful and Senpai who still chases her dreams even after she failed once. If that wasn't enough, Sawako could have been raise to the haremette status as well. Remember that she originally disapproved Rizu's decision, so the cast would have gotten a nice balance of 2v2 on the sides of the initial debate.

Rizu is the main heroine. Fumino is the joke one.

When she checked the official blog around lunch time, there are 6 events that she might experience with someone that's on her mind: Being fed, suddenly had her chin being lifted, being whispered sweet words, being petted, a driving date until midnight comes, and huddle, where she'll slowly become aggressive.

Fumino pretty much brushed off the horoscope and mentally said that she's being too conscious of it seeing how it's related to stars, and how there's really no body on her mind right now...only to be shocked when Nariyuki walked in to give them their exercises of the day. As she was about to dropped her origini from the shock, Nariyuki caught it, and from momentum, stuffed it in Fumino's mouth. Nariyuki lifted Fumino's chin to see if she's okay. While Fumino said that she was all right, she was more conscious that two of the six events actually happened.

After school was over, Nariyuki and Fumino are studying at Jomothans, and Fumino told herself not to be so agitated as it's just fortune telling...when Nariyuki whispered "sugar" in her ears due to how much sugar Fumino had added to her drinks. Fumino was not amused about the pun.

While still agitated, Fumino accidentally bumped into the waitress, Mako, and had drinks spilled onto the former's head. As they apologized, Nariyuki grabbed a napkin, and dried Fumino's head off in a petting motion. Fumino was more than convinced that the fortune telling was true. Fumino paid the check, and decided to end the study session early for her friend's sake before it escalated any further.

After Fumino left, however, Nariyuki chased after her, and after they ran some distance, Nariyuki finally managed to give Fumino the change from the bill, where the latter commented that he should've just said that sooner. Nariyuki leaned on Fumino due to the exhaustion from running when the latter saw Rizu and Uruka leaving a book store. Fumino quickly hid the two in the back of a delivery truck in order to avoid being seeing in a slightly compromised situation. The two, however, failed to leave in time, and were taken for a ride.

Fumino explained how it's all from that Fortune Telling, and that they might be stuck until midnight comes. Seeing how Fumino is shivering from the cold, Nariyuki took off his coat and placed it on Fumino. Fumino tried to decline it because she doesn't want Nariyuki to catch a cold. They ultimately decided to cover themselves in the coat like a blanket.

As they studied, Fumino was reminded of a similar situation back at the hotel, where they shared the same bed. Slowly, Fumino leaned on Nariyuki, and commented that they'd be cold if they don't cuddle properly. As Fumino pondered about the situation, the truck's door opened, and it was Reiji who greeted them in a menacing look.

Because it was still bright when they got out of the truck, Fumino was wondering about the validity of one of the events, and Fumino was not amused when it was a pun on the word "midnight" and her father's name (Reiji "零侍" is pronounced the same as Midnight "０時" in Japanese).

As for why Reiji knows so much about horoscope, he had been buying and studying them recently...

It's a very, very overused trope. Just in this manga we already have 2 characters that suffer from it, look at Naruto, Bleach, 5toubun, etc.

In Nariyuki's case it's the fundation of his whole character, his need to take responsibility as the man of the family, drive to study, etc.

In Fumino's case it's just an excuse for her to "like stars". Her dead mother is completely irrelevant to how she acts aside from the few selected moments 22i uses to remind the audience that "oh her mom is dead by the way". Fumino's mother didn't need to be dead, you could have her working overseas like Asumi's and barely anything would change.

They don't do that speedreader.

Ultimately filler, but cute.

Rather, the more accurate way to put it is that it meanders around for most of the manga but it will end with one girl winning eventually. The presumed time limit is graduation, and time progresses in the manga.

Aside from the festival arc making an implicit promise that one of them will be bound to him, there isn't much direction beyond getting the girls to succeed with their dreams, which really is all just an excuse for wacky romcom antics. It's very light on content and episodic in nature.

It is general opinion that the series is entering its final stage. 50ish chapters is what the ending is predicted to be at. Generally for a winner you can expect one of the two main girls but as in any romcom if you forget muh tropes any girl can be written into a win.

Seriously, the problem here is that she fucking wants to be a doctor to have the clinic be full of happy patients, but if it's not that very clinic, like specifically the literal physical place called the Kominami clinic at that point in time, then that's not good for her and she needs to be pointed out that if she reopens a fucking clinic anywhere else she can do the literal same thing. For fuck sake she can reopen the same clinic. And not a word on her real fucking issues like the Nisekoi or the Anxiety issue that failed the first medicine entrance exam.

It will get its natural ending in 50 chapters and you will seethingly call it axe and then go on the next romcom to hate, probably one whose threads aren't made of 20 posters tops and don't die at 200 on dump.

Senpai grew, Sensei grew, Uruka kind of gave up on love, even tho thats fruitless so you could make the argument she grew and regressed, and Rizu is TBA. Only Fumino didnt grew. She more or less stayed the same except that her household is now happier.

She was clearly relying on Nariyuki before this arc

To be honest, the most romantic moments happened between him and Uruka. After all, Yuiga was bothered when she revealed she liked some other guy and got a bit upset when it wasnt him. Fumino was always on the best friend side of things IMO
With everyone else, it was "wow I just saw you nude" or "wow I slipped and landed on you X".
