why

I'm still amazed that 5touban is so popular. It feels like just yesterday that it wasn't well known and then seemingly overnight it became big. It's been trending on Twitter since even before the anime came out

It gets really good promotion on twitter. Yesterday there was an event where people tweeted with the official hashtag and if they reach a certain amount of tweets in a day then the author will draw each of the quints. They passed the goal with like 30k tweets and it was in japan's top 5 trending.

Good for Kaguya.

HeroAca nearly jobbing to Harem Manga is hahaha

It's haremshit where you can't guess the winner from the get go and tons of bland waifubait.
Except Yotsuba, she's a good girl with shit luck.

its a great rom(com)drama series even with the last shitty arc. And no clear winner means waifu war for nips

How many volumes has SnK had this year for reference?

>where you can't guess the winner
Itsuki is literally the first girl and the first chapter/episode is almost entirely about her even though she's the fifth sister. She's also the first to befriend the MCs sister and all that crap. This isn't exactly hard to figure out.

>you can't guess the winner from the get go
Yeah, definitely

When it comes to individual volume sales then yeah, it's just about always just behind OP. When it comes to total sales there's been some variation since it only releases three volumes per year.

Isn't it always?

That's a good question, Ik it sucks but isn't still pretty popular.

Happy to see TPN doing well.

No he didn't, he didn't say she was out or anything like that, he was mad because the editor forced him to show the main girl (Itsuki) before the others to "make it easy for the readers".

According to Oricon the series gained 2.9 mil sales in the last 6 months, right?
But the total sales of the series are at 3.5 mil right now
This is fucking impossible

the wikia sales seems a bit outdated, iirc it had between 1-2 mil sales before NY

Am I a picky faggot or do the Japanese masses have shit taste?

pretty sure it was 2, i'm interested in sales by volume

I forgot which chapter but a recent one said sales are at 4.2M

Aren't those just the print numbers? The chart on the wiki mentions the 4.2 mil there

nope, only volume 28 was released this year
attackontitan.fandom.com/wiki/Calendar/Events/Past#2019

Besides 5Toubun those are all wasteful garbage.

Odds are OPM is going to die with this season. MHA was shilled by Jump from the very beginning, then relied on inertia to stay afloat.
A post could be even more reddit if it tried.

Itsuki might seem like a winner if you've only seen the anime but she's no longer relevant. The most likely winner at this point in the manga is either Yotsuba or Nino.

Found the page, it says cumulative total

Forgot to add that chapter released a month ago

SnK is monthly manga, but on the list.
Yes,SnK is real No1.

Yep. It's as I thought. There are millions of plebs.

The oricon site specifies the timeframe on the bottom
>2018/11/19~2019/5/19
Volume 27 also released in that timeframe
A month? Was that on Apr 17? Cause the wiki says that's where the 4.2 print announcement came from

>shit
>garbage
>good
>smelly spic garbage
>good
>flammable garabge
>gross
>fag
>good
>ok

Denialfags hate this post because it's the true and just shows how shallow the series is.

>Was that on Apr 17
Yeah

So either the fanbase(?) is misinformed and confused print with total sales numbers or whoever running's the wiki has been confusing the two

Kaguya is shit.

>The Quintessential Quintuplets
I cannot wait for this cancer to die.

cope

On the flip side, it will be funny to see all the Ninofags and Mikufags calling this manga shit when Itsuki wins, all while saying that it came out of nowhere despite the warnings.
Regardless of who wins, this will definitely end like TWGOK. Itsuki would have the biggest backlash though.

>Monthly manga has less total sales than a weekly manga because of less volumes
Why are salesfags so retarded? It's like the Franxx retards who thought it was popular because of it's total sales without looking at how many volumes it had to sell compared to the others

>5sluts
>good
no

Yes.

Nah, it's trash.

>7. Slime Isekai 2,527,807
everytime
Why?

I thought you guys said 5Toubun will never beat Kaguya? I also heard you guys said KanoKari eats 5Toubun in sales?

Why are you guys always wrong?

5Toubun only has 8 or 9 volumes, every other series on that list has much more.
The others literally cannot compete.

1

At least TWGOK's ending made the most sense, even if the last arc is garbage. I feel like the backlash will be way worse here no matter what happens.

you're retarded, 5toubun is mostly backlog sales

You can cope as much as you want, everyone's getting shat on by a literal upstart haremshit series.

And the author wants to end it next year because he understands the importance of not dragging out a story. Fucking based.

Kaguya is still in the lead when it comes to overall sales. But still, nobody could have predicted how massively popular Go-toubun became because it's something never seen for a romcom. And whoever mentions KanoKari is shitposting

He won't end it until it stops making money.

>harem
>ending

Kanokari literally is close to that shit's overall sales despite having no anime.

It's not never seen before because 80s romcoms like Kimagure Orange Road were far more popular than gotoubun ever was.

>Kanokari literally is close to that shit's overall sales despite having no anime.
no its not lmao

>tfw you jumped on Toubun boat right after the one shot and seeing it grow from nothing to the current Chad status

Yes it is.
1.9 million in print and that's not even counting the digital sales.

Which is half as much as Toubun sold in just the half year recorded in the OP, are you ok retard?

how is that close to 4+mil?

>half
Well two thirds but your point stands

How new are you? It just got an anime adaptation. Of course its sales would go up. Kimetsu, while not as popular, will probably be in the top 10 as well in the second half of the year

I was there since the beginning too and even now, it feels like just yesterday that 5-toubun had a relatively small reader base. Brings a tear to my eye when I think about how far it has gone and with the second season likely animating some of the better arcs (in my opinion) of the story so far, I can only see it becoming more popular.

Promised Neverland got an adaptation in the winter season while MHA's anime ended in August and won't start again until this October

Toubun has an anime, before the anime they were neck-and-neck.

I probably agree with TpN but not with KnY. KnY numbers are insignificant.

it should. I hope Dr. Stone gets a good adaptation because I like the concept and the parts I have read, but I find it hard to binge read because it gives me a really bad urge to play survival vidya instead

It's the only manga there with 3 volumes released in the counting period, it's numbers are shit.

Hell yeah wish the promised neverland was on top. i mean that is an amazing manga way better than i thought it was gonna be. Slime Isekai was hella good too. So is haikyuu. Personally, i like one piece but theres no way ill sit down and read eVeRything. its awesome its still popular tho. Personally not a fan of attack on titan but its still okay

That’s considered good these days. Look at OP and compare it to it’s peak, and remember that there is still nothing that sells more than it currently. Printed manga on a whole will never sell that much again.

900k is amazing for both series you stupid nigger, if you were to account digital sales both fujo series are 1m sellers

Remove the Isekai part it's just really a battle shonen.

Black Clover in the trash where it belongs.

Kimetsu already got its boost, everything else would have to take a nosedive for Kimetsu to make it Top 10 for the second half of the year. The series in the Top 10 are literally selling more than twice per volume what Kimetsu does and they've got a bigger backlog.

Battle harem

Fire Force and Dr. Stone will have huge boosts. All the salty hateboner fags BTFO.

The only way Bokuben can redeem itself is if Sensei actually wins.

Not even joking.

I doubt it. Both Stone and Fire Force reception in Japan is dead as fuck.

Their reception is decent. The anime will take them to the next level. Summer is coming.

doesn't Dr. Stone barely crack 100k despite being constantly pushed by WSJ?

jokes on you. I actually like Dr. Stone, but I like salesposting even more, so I win either way

There is a difference. WNL anime was unsalvagably bad.

Virtuslly nobidy gives a shit about both. FFfags were actually surprised at how small its sales were.

I thought Shueisha and Kodansha were bros

Why is Bokuben selling so poorly?

Bad manga. Terrible anime.

Bros at asking your money sure

>Terrible anime

It's filler haremshit: the manga. There's nothing remotely interesting or engaging about it

Bokuben is so terrible it couldn't even get popular actresses. Bow down to your quintuplet superiors. One has a S2 while the other has dust.

Nigga it's a worse Nisekoi, without the Shaft anime. The premise is retarded.

I think you're retarded.
>worse Nisekoi

Maybe the author thought he could bank in Nisekoi's success thanks to his previous Kosaki spin-off and his similar art-style with a new harem series, but he forgot the most important part: charming characters and an interesting setup. What little charm Bokuben could have had is now squandered by the author rehashing the exact same plots and scenarios for each girl in every chapter, and let's not talk about his embarrrassing attempts at writing character arcs and drama. He literally has no idea how to develop his story.
Nobody will remember after it ends, which should be sooner than later.

Kingdom had a live action movie come out recently, it's not like it has no marketing behind it.

>liars who think S2 was still the same CG showcase
Own up to it, denialfags

The movie has only been out for a month and some change. It's not big enough of a time gap to outsell MHA by around a million.

The worst part is how he got away with it. Jump romcoms are just shitty.

How is hero academia still selling after the seven quarks shitfest?

Maybe people have finally realized that it's great?

Reminder OP is the eternal no. 1 and your seething will never change that.

Cause there are more volumes and it's the most entry level shit on the planet. HxH does very good for 1 volume a year, they wouldn't let the creator go on hiatus if it didn't

A movie which is the highest-grossing film of the year in Japan that isn't made for 12 year olds and their parents. Kingdom is peak popularity for seinen right now.

no one gives a fuck about it other than hate followers on Yea Forums. The sales dropped about the same as they did the last time the anime ended

The anime was terrible fuck the VA's. I feel so bad for everybody who was first exposed to the series through that mess

>It's not big enough of a time gap to outsell MHA by around a million.
It is especially when you have over50 volumes worth of backlog

>More volumes
>Monthly vs weekly
Even if togashit does release a volume it still sells less

Because Neverland is a better story than capeshit, who knew

It's popular but horribly received by even the fans. MaL scores aren't accurate representation of how people feel about the series

Historically there have always been bad adaptations with good results. It's unfortunate it didn't get a better anime but at the same time the seiyuu strategy worked.

>With no anime it’s decent
No, its fucking non-existent. You FFfags are truly delusional

See
>Boku no Hero Academia 21 (763,647 copies).
>The Promised Neverland 12 (697,567 copies)

So your point is? Kingdom has been popular for a while now, with no shortage of promotion from Shueisha i'm sure. It selling more than MHA is not surprising, talk to me when it sells more than OP, now that would be impressive.

Nigger, Nisekoi is one of the best selling romcoms in decades.

Majority of those numbers have been without the movie.

Nope.

Salty. It's non-existant enough to get a better anime than your favorite manga.

Kingdom has been shortchanged in terms of promotion yet it sells more than shounen's new golden child.

>Sales = quality
You're retarded

The numbers are worth 6 months. The movie has only been out 1 and a half months. Seethe more.

animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-05-31/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-series-2018/.132243
Kingdom was much lower last year
>Kingdom has been shortchanged in terms of promotion
No it hasnt especially since the announcement of the movie its been pushed heavily.

I'll take it over one autistic user and his opinions.

Kingdoms sales haven't changed at all since those 6 months the only difference is that it has more backlog due to the movie. Cope.

SnK, the most normie series ever, has an average of about 2 volumes per year conistantly releaed every month. Hxh has 1 volume (if that) every year

Any person with a brain can tell you it's gonna sell more

As long as Uruka loses like a bitch and we all laugh at her Bokuben will be ok in my book.

I wonder who this obsessive MHA fag is. :^)

I guess by your logic One Piece is the best manga ever made, no contest. Good to know

>Kingdom was much lower last year
Same as everyone else, wow
Also, no anime OR movie keeping up with the hottest commodity in shounen? Kek

And the movie has only been out for like 1 and a half months. Stop telling me to cope when you're out here denying facts.

I highly doubt davidpro can do a better job than Bones you coping faggot

The adaptation that hasn't even come out yet? Unless you are a newfag you know most anime have the chance of going to shit in terms of animation, stuff like MP100 is an exception.

animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-06-02/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-series/2013-first-half
AOT had a huge surge in sales a month after the anime premiered. This shit always fucking happened. Kingdom having a live action boost is actually a much bigger draw than an anime too. Your pathetic attempt to shit on MHA has been rendered meaningless. Get a life.

>The movie didn't do much for those numbers
It did. All 50+ volumes were up again in Oricon and they're still up.

Somone is mad on the internet.

Based

How can others even compete?

Probably because it's not released outside of japan and the anime sucks ass . Which is a shame cause it's one of the best manga of all time imo.

>gets btfo
-y-y-you mad?

That's the best concession you could have given me#

What ugly art

Can you be less mad?

No need to samefag user.

Now that the great romcom wars are over. Who is next in line? Komi-san is autismus? Kanojo Okarishimasu sluts?

You know it's true

>>Using Togashit's laziness as an excuse that it isn't weekly
But it doesn't come out ever week, therefore there's less volumes, and therefore it sells less. It's basic logic

>AOT had a huge surge in sales a month after the anime premiered.
Because the first 4 episodes of AOT was consistent hype over the first 4 weeks and had around 22 more weeks to go. AOT anime is more hyped than Kingdom's live action movie which isn't even hyped outside of Japan. Be less mad next time, faggot. The other user you replied to isn't even me.

Cope

Don't reply to me you insect

No they're not. There would have been headlines then.

>AOT anime is more hyped than Kingdom's live action movie
No its not. Kingdom live action is looking to be the biggest movie of the year in Japan and they're still talking about it.
>outside Japan
Who gives a shit? They're not buying volumes

You are trying way too hard to discredit the information given. How fast do you think sales are counted for?

Kingdom sells more than your favorite series MHA.
I'm the opposite of cope, mad coping faggot.

>No they're not.
They are
>There would have been headlines then.
There were. Seethe more.

Kingdom will be ongoing years from now while Bokukek Academia will fade away into irrelevance.

>Kingdom sells more than your favorite series MHA.
Yes because it had a boost from a LA movie while MHA actually increased from last year despite having no anime.

>No its not.
Did you really just ignore when AOT's hype was so big that it outsold OP in the first half of a year? And almost outsold OP for that year's full sales numbers?
Biggest movie in Japan doesn't matter if it can't outsell OP.
>You are trying way too hard to discredit the information given.
Talk to the mirror, not to me.

7 quicks is volume 23, which didn't even make the top 10 after being out for 2 weeks.

9. Kaguya: Love is War 2,432,345
Ayy

Kingdom is actually well written and with no anime, we see the difference between a series built on quality vs a trend hopping average series.

The movie wasn't out for 6 months. It's just one and a half, fag. Nobody's contesting that the movie will have an effect.

Yet they are still beating the likes of Hero Academia in sales per volume.

Empty words with no proof. Be madder and give me the links before you explode from coping.

>beating MHA in sales per volume

That was in 2014 dumbass even NnT managed to do that in 2015 we're talking about about a month after it anime premiered.
>almost
Who gives a shit and that was mainly due to OPs backlog sales running out not because AoT beat it in volume sales.

>Biggest movie in Japan doesn't matter if it can't outsell OP.

You managed to summarize the retarded discussions from this type of thread perfectly, here is my last (You) for your efforts.

So mad. Let's break this down.
>we're talking about about a month after it anime premiered.
That's what I'm saying, dumbass retard. The movie is barely out for Kingdom, its numbers are barely affected. But you think it counts for Kingdom, but not for AOT? I just used your logic against you, you seething coper.
>Who gives a shit
You and me? Because nobody else has beaten OP for a almost a decade now doesn't mean it's not impressive.
>Your dumbass do realize
We're talking manga sales here not movie tickets faggot.
>And thanks for proving my point dumbass
You're so mad you can't even see straight. Jesus christ how do you live?

All these replies are also just you being super fucking mad that Kingdom outsells MHA. I'm still waiting for the links that say 50+ of Kingdom's volumes are up in the top you blithering idiot.

Kingdom could last an extremely long time or it could end without actually seeing the unification, my problem is how accurate the author wants to be. I think the real fate of Shin is way more interesting than the shonen-style story he seems to be going for.

Who?

I think Hara will roughly keep to the real story but make his last campaign more heroic as a redemption arc.

Nakabas fault and also the S2 anime really killed enjoyment, wondering if Deen can bring back NNT

That would be cool and I think could be very interesting. I just feel like successful authors have a tendency to cop out at the end and don't deliver on anything that could actually have value.

Well, it's obvious total sales are heavily influenced by backlog. So it's more about bringing in new fans or old fans coming back. One Piece has only 4 of 5 million represented in new volumes from that time period; Kingdom and Neverland only have 1.5 of 4 million from new volumes.

>Bokukek got BTFO
>Trying to cope this hard
Sorry about your loss, user, but just accept the fact that it's only going to be downhill for MHA from now while kingdom will last all the way until at least late 2020s

I guess I'm just kinda surprise, I remember a few years ago it sold 10 million in a year(backlogs from the first season of anime), and from what I've seen it usually makes these list. But that probably also has to do with more things outselling it this year.
I guess that too

2030s even. Unification is so far away.

Not the point why do you keep mentioning bc?

>>One Piece is dying
You fell for a shitpost bait moron. One Piece at this rate will probably remain the top seller until it ends. Replaced by Kingdom perhaps, I don't see MHA taking it over and SnK is ending this year.

Don't underestimate the power of a sales boost from an adaptation with big name VA attached to it.

Is Kingdom something similar to Yokoyama RotK adaptation? I didn't know that there were another manga in ancient china setting

I'm surprised that Kingdom never caught on in the west, I guess Berserk babies only like shit that has western aesthetics.

Digital is really impacting these numbers
Both the biggest sellers, OP and SnK, lost a third of their readership each on their per volume sales
One Piece new volumes went from averaging 3 mil to 2 mil
Shingeki no Kyojin new volumes went from averaging 1.8 mil to 1.2 mil

>8.Kusuriya no Hitorigoto - 182,586
Anime when? Literally every single series on that list already got an anime adaptation at some point. Also, the author acts like she doesn't give a shit about this series because she already has a full-time job and she also has another series to write. Maybe that's the reason Kusuriya doesn't get the promotion it deserves.

D.Grey-man is outselling Black Clover and its chapters only come out once every three months.

Which is fucking insane. I can understand if backlog is slowed down by digital but what sort of subhuman garbage buys 89 One Piece volumes before switching to digital? Surely it's far more likely to be piracy that takes away those sales. If you stop buying the physical volumes that deep it's because you dropped it.

>Neverland
Damn, I'm so proud of it, I started reading from chapter 1

It’s exactly because there are fucking 90 volumes of OP that people would go «I don’t have space for this anymore and I don’t care as much as I did when I started reading this shit 15 years ago, but I might as well keep reading» that they would switch to digital.

Hunter Hunter also went from 1,200,000 to 800,000
Haikyu also went from 900,000 to 600,000

One Punch Man went from 900k to 600k
Detective Conan went from 825k to 550k
Black Butler went from 750k to 500k
Shokugeki no Soma went from 450k to 300k

Most of the big sellers are seeing roughly the same percentage drop across the board
Only new bestsellers escape that trend like HeroAca and Neverland

>one Shieisha title gets more popular than other Shueish title

From someone who autistically tracks sales:
Kimetsu will get into the top 10 for the end of the year, probably not higher than Neverland, but it's backlog sales are almost as high as neverland's (and much higher if you consider how much each volume sold beforehand).
Considering that we're still at the relatively boring beginning, I can honestly see Kimetsu becoming a far higher selling series for Jump.

MHA volumes 17 and 22 were released at the same week, and 22 sold 65k more at the same timeframe.
It's still growing :^)

Print is not sales.

> I can honestly see Kimetsu becoming a far higher selling series for Jump.
Hahahaha. There's not way KnY will sell 700k per volume. At best it will be 400k.

Both are 2 faggot. But that TpNfags is retarded if he really think TpN have chance dethroning OP. This year Kingdom have the biggest chance to beat OP.

ONE PUNCH MAN SHOULD BE NUMBER 1

Jump doesn't really push MHA tho? It's CP and CL pale in comparison with Dr Stone,KnY and TpN. Or are you saying that the anime, movie and LN are type of pushing? Because i'm pretty sure those are not pushing it's milking

Oh shit meant for this

As if CP and CL are the only ways of pushing.
>it's milking
It's both, milking is what they're doing to Kingdom

MHA is one of the most pushed Jump manga. Four anime seasons, two movies, live action movie, games, heavy advertisement at events.

Don't worry zorocuck.
Wano's lack of sales is going to make up for the left over success of the previous arcs lmao

All trash

Every week the meme becomes more and more retarded. What isn't a push at this point?

>lack of sales
But autist-kun, it's still the best selling manga. You need to learn how to cope instead of embarrassing yourself.

Is there even a volume to be sold for hiatus this year?

Hiatus is coming back in 2020.

>kusuriya

based cat cat

I hope the anime will be good.

>6. Attack on Titan 2,814,044
Oh NONONO
What went wrong?

Let's be realistic.
>I hope the anime

>still in top 10
Nothing went wrong.

monthy manga, with 2 volumes out, still outsells everything but one piece, so "nothing" happened?

The manga jumped the shark a long time ago

It also got the Nardo boost getting to immmediately step into it's place after it was over. The hack got axed twice before that.

The manga really doesn't fell the same anymore, it's not bad but meh

Fags.

At least I'm not on the same level of snk fans faggi-ness kek

Where's Kanokari?

Wow, almost in top-10

Boost is still strong. It can make it.

I agree. It's disappointing that Slime is merely ranked 7th place. Should have been even higher!

Why are there so many 5toubun threads nowadays? It's just haremshit right?

It's just another ebin general.

bump limit

It's the romcom of the generation.

In the didn't release an official volume in the 1st half of the year section I guess.

Im a little shocked black clover didn't break into the top 10.

It wasn't even close.

It did worse than kimetsu, kek.

>BC does that with one volume
>every other series has 2 or more volumes
Cope Jeremy

>>BC does that with one volume
Which was outsold by 1 volume of Kimetsu

>BC does that with one volume
That feel when you're so buttblasted, you're actually need to lie.

Kimetsu still getting boost? Nice.

2 volumes stupid nigger
