Despite being one of the main characters, we don't actually get to see things strictly from Yugami's perspective that often. This is one of the first times in the series we see that tells us Yugami thinks of Chihiro differently from other people and definitely the most obvious. It's pretty interesting that this chapter, like the finale, is one depicting a rakugo date.

Thinking about it now, I'm glad Yugami never has that revelation that Chihiro is actually someone special to him. I think it cheapens him a bit as a character and even though it's "development" I think it would come off as rather forced. What we got in the end stayed true to who he was while also hinting at his true feelings all along.

Thanks. That said, I'm not actually the person who did the story time dumps or the TL user in those threads though. Most of them were at bad times for me so I only ever caught them after they'd fallen into the archives. I was really only around live for final thread where I posted corrections for the dump anons machine translation page summaries. I'm usually busy but I'm pretty confident I can fit a single chapter of an epilogue (if there is one) into my schedule somewhere. I think it's more likely someone else translates before I even get to the scans, though which is fine by me.

Honestly, I think this is the first time he actually considers chihiro as a girlfriend, while chihiro herself would only consider it by chapter 60 or so (sports festival). Being Yugami, he doesn't act on it because he doesn't know if he actually wants it (as shown when he needed a lot of time to answer Haiyashiyama when he asked).
He already saw her as somebody important ever since the school rooftop conversation, but that was just that.

I don't know how this author can create something this hilarious yet still very grounded. This shit is great.
