Hello everyone, Yea Forumsizen here...

Hello everyone, Yea Forumsizen here. We are currently under invasion by angsty teens procrastinating with exams who use the literature board as an excuse to discuss vague theological idea about the existence of god, so I started lurking here and I want to compliment you for having a very comfy board.
I wanted to ask you, what are some manga with real artistic merit for you? For me it's pic related, but I'm not much of an expert, so I'm asking you.

Boku no Pico

Go read a book

I visited Yea Forums once, and I knew that psuedo intellectuals had already infiltrated the board. Honestly, something like Kingdom is pretty good.

There aren't any.

Hunter x Hunter is the pinnacle of japanese literature

Oyasumi Punpun

Thickly veiled rec thread

Your compliment is unwarranted. Just look at how much shounenshit there is in the catalog.

Boku no Pico.

Poorly veiled rec thread but yeah, Oyasumi Punpun for you citizen

Jesus Yea Forums must be real bad now if you consider this board comfy

You would probably enjoy Eden: It's an Endless World

Holyland
Kagemusha
Kingdom
Kurogane
Senrei
Strain
Tabi to Gohan
Tongari Boushi no Atelier
Warau Kyuuketsuki
Yakedo Shouji
Blame

Thats about it

Define "artistic merit"

Yea Forums in general has become bad.
Fuck you, I don't recognize 4channel.

Can’t go wrong with yokohama kaidashi kikou

Quit your whining, duckling.

Look for manga published in Garo, AX or Big Comic but there are a lot more great serialisations out there.

A few mangakas I reccomend are Yoshiharu Tsuge, Nishioka Kyoudai, Seiichi Hayashi, Suehiro Maruo, Taiyo Matsumoto, Keiichi Koike, Yoshihiro Tatsumi and basically everyone in the gekiga movement. I can copy past a long list of worthwhile mangakas if you want it though.

Also Jiro Taniguchi - Guillermo del Toro praised his work, stating that "Taniguchi was a manga poet. The Kieslowski of the page. A serene, profound observer of the world."

Spirit Circle
Historie
Golden Kamuy
Thermae Romae
Fire Punch

Not OP but it's been bad for so long now

Fire Punch is great.

I think that if we are talking about good art/drawing Oh!great and Murata are worth mentioning.

Sorry OP, I'm just a brainlet who reads what he enjoys. I can't really comment on Art or anything like that.

Whenever I visit another board I'm shocked at how bad they are. At least this place is free of frogs.

devilman

Why would someone from Yea Forums want a primitive picture book

Rec threads go here lurk 2 years before posting Yea Forumster

Holy fuck, how bad is Yea Forums for you to call Yea Forums comfy?

I just came here looking for some decent anime suggestions but most of these guys here are autistic as fuck my dude. This board has no culture. It's like they're actively trying to be the memes about weebs man. I wanted to like you guys, man. You're all fucking weird.

>Yea Forumsizen here.
prove it.

Pluto by Naoki Urasawa is awesome. Its themes are simple, but the way in which they are conveyed is genuine. It’s an excellent reimagining of a pretty well loved Astro Boy arc. I’d recommend it.

The Music of Marie is pretty nice. I don't see it posted much here though.
