I'm re-reading the manga and it's as good as I remembered. Humour is very childish but it is shonen, not seinen.
It's actually one of the best shounen out there. No filler shits from editors, no unsensical ending, everything gets wrapped up, it's really hard to find a better (already finished) shounen, really. We need to go back to the 80s or before to find something better, I'd say.

Brotherhood is objectively not that bad at all. It has decent pacing and great animation when necessary. It's nothing spectacular or groundbreaking but it's overall a very consistent experience.

It's overrated because its fans try hard to downplay 03 because deep down they know 03 had a better story.
People forget that 03 played a pivotal role in influencing the mangaka to change the story to be less dark which ultimately created many of brotherhoods biggest flaws.
