Nah, the ending was pretty great.

Stongest Disciple Kenichi and Mahou Sensei Negima now those were some fucking terrible endings.

Also the anime ending for Cheeky Angel was probably the dumbest thing to ever hsppen to an otherwise great series.

when an anime ending is "it just stops" they should move over to reading the source material

I don't blame him for thinking Satou wasn't good for his sister since she's a complete nutcase. Not to mention he meets her for the fist time after learning she killed Shouko. How was he supposed to believe Shio was actually happy and not just being groomed by this lunatic?
And even his selfishness wasn't reprehensible, he just wanted his family back together and thought they could make it work this time without the dad.
