Do you think this was realistic? Would most people really have betrayed Kaiji? I guess most of them were degen gambelers but still it's so fucked
Do you think this was realistic? Would most people really have betrayed Kaiji...

Yes. I don't know about "most" people but yeah, there are some fucking snakes out there.
Kaiji is to innocent at heart. He never envisioned him doing that just like he didn’t consider the first guy was taking him for a ride or that he was cheated when drawing for the paper despite making a rule that would have made the game not count.
The reason he got trouble in the first place was being a guarantor for a loan.
I'd like to know how a match between Kaiji and Akagi would go
Pretty sure akagi is far smarter than kaiji.
It would depend entirely on whether Kaiji could do something so absurd that even Akagi doesn't take the possibility into account.
Kaiji is intelligent but far outmatched by Akagi. He does have brief moments of luck.
I'd like for the cross over between kruosawa and kaiji (well it was more ofa easter egg in kaiji intro 2) to happen.
Tonegawa is probably smarter than Kaiji as well. All Kaiji needs is that one angle though
Which Akagi? Old version or young? If it's the latter he might have a chance because Akagi at that point cared less, but young Akagi would beat him in no time.
If Kaiji takes place in 1996, why the fuck do they have smart phones and twitter in Middle Management Blues? Isn't it supposed to take place before Kaiji?
How is this trope called when a story supposedly takes place in the time period it was written in but technology changes as real time goes on?
If you think about it, there's really no reason not to. Kaiji can't get back at you and you'll make a profit so why wouldn't you? It's your money, you earned it.
Why is Hyodo so cute?
Bullshit. Kaiji did all the fucking work. Also there's no guarantee that he will be crippled after the two years of slave labor, or forget their names like Andou said. Once he gets out he might kill you
IT'S MY MONEY, TOMMY
Probably his pickle nose
Get fucked fatso
Based. I wanted more but this was still pretty good.
Why doesnt Kaiji just fight his way through everthing? That kick was pretty impressive
Violence is bad.
Floating timeline?
>Kaiji can't get back at you
Heh heh heh heh
If Kaiji werent so nice that fat fuck would have gotten the beating of several lifetimes.
I think it's mostly because the higher-up people he would beat up are protected by three to five bodyguards.
However, the part where Kaiji's running back here where he beats the fucking shit out of those rat fucks Maeda and Miyoshi is an exception I think because of the difference in position.
Spoilered because I actually didn't know about it going in despite frequenting FKMT threads and it was really fucking satisfying to see.
Kaiji has no fucking luck with friends
Could Kaiji beat Kurosawa?
What is the context of this
Kaiji had dear friends he went through hardships together with. He saved them from hell. Then they betray him for cash.
It's the folly of man.
Kurosawa is a hundred man slayer and tactical genius. He's essentially Guts and Griffith combined.
Damn. I've watched the anime but would have never expected those guys to betray him.
Maybe I should start reading the manga
>he hasn't seen Minefield Mahjong, Kazuya's wild ride, One Poker or Kaiji's Great Escape
user you little shit go read it all right now
I most definitely will. But for now, I must sleep.
are there any sites you would recommend for reading manga? I'm a noob to this and all I've heard of is bato.to
Quest after it on your own and find a site you like.
Alright, thanks.
Non-canon joke show.
Currently reading Zero and Jesus Christ, this man is a fucking legend.
There was plenty of reason actually because he should've gained some respect for Kaiji after he saved his worthless ass like four fucking times. Once from just sitting on the fucking toilet crying like a beta bitch, another from expelling him from the group, from him losing the 2nd star Kaiji gave him out of pure panic and from them having too many fucking cards left on top of not having enough stars.
Furuhata sort of contributed something but Andou could've been any random asshole and after getting carried THAT FUCKING HARD he should be able to suss out that Kaiji is far FAR more clever than him and he will find a way to get back at the guy. Andou was as dumb as a pile of rocks and he didn't earn the money at all.
The main idea yes I think it is, but the actions are of course a bit exaggerated/rushed for dramatism.
IIRC wasn't Andous logic for doing it that if they didn't take him out and just sold their stars, both his and Furuhatas debt could be paid off? And since Kaijis debt is Furuhatas debt it wouldn't have mattered. He probably actually made the right move there.
Yes, and even though it was shitty, I don't really understand why people get so pissed off at Andou for doing what he did, especially when Hyodo was the one who ran the whole shebang. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I read it on kissmanga
>tfw we could've had a part 3 but Fukumoto couldn't contain his mahjong autism
was it any good?
Kaiji would be a better Osamu to Akagi. Actually Kaiji would improve Akagi's life so drastically he would be much happier person I'm sure.
Skip the unneeded recap (the first part of the first ep)? or it will ignite your asshole and you drop the series. Anyway it starts as a bit boring office SOL but it gets kinda healing and comfortable by ep 4 or so. If you like something like shirakuma cafe it's this.
Yes. Remember, the guys boarding that ship are literal scum.
I loved it, but I think the comfy threads had a big impact on that.
Anachronical.
Did people really get so mad at the recap? It was boring, sure, but not really anything to get worked up about.
How much prep time does Kaiji have?
>he tilted the entire mansion
how?
have only watched the Akagi anime btw
By reading the manga and Ten
He loves it!
HE ENJOYS IT
Yes, people were absolutely fucking livid.
The commentator sounded like he mocked everything Kaiji's life and struggles stand for. He is here to mock Teiai of course, but used the same manner of speacking for the recap and it was extremely out of place.
>taking half an episode of a comedy show that seriously
Glad people got over that. Narrator was fun.
>he didn't tilt the entire HELL
git gud kaiji
the only thing i didn't like was the song on the opening, the voice of the guy pissed me off for some reason other than that it was kino
It was kind of high-pitched and took a while to get used to, but it grew on me.
>hell took well over a year's worth of chapters
Fukumoto you absolute madman
>Kaiji's mommy
>Smart and cute personality
>Protects her son from people talking shit about him
>Even though she loses her temper she says something so ridiculous so that (((they))) get confused
>Instantly realizes a way for his son to stay safe and escape but doesn't tell him because she wants to spend some more time with her beloved son
Spinoff about Kaiji's mommy when?
Kaiji with prep time > Akagi
Fukumoto please make this happen, Kaijimom is perfection.
Impossible. It would all be part of Akagi's 4D underwater chess keikaku
Anyone who doesn't think Kaiji wouldn't get absolutely stomped is delusional.
Believe in Chang and Mario.
Can she beat Washizu in her prime?
Akagi is the master of the game, any game
But Kaiji is the master of fucking with the surroundings to the point that even if you are better in the game it doesn't matter.
Kaiji wouldn't make some amazing strategies at Washizu mahjong but he would break the machine when no one is looking
In a perfect match Akagi stomps, with prep time it's close
Kaiji's never gonna get close to Akagi's level, but he might surprise him a couple of times.
Akagi wouldn't make dice out of bone marrow
Akagi wouldn't tilt a building
That's just not the way he thinks.
Akagi wouldn't need to, but he's not above cheating, either. I'm never gonna buy Kaiji beating Akagi, the most I could believe is Kaiji making the ride more interesting.
ED1 > OP > ED2
prove me wrong
>tfw this thread has me rewatching Kaiji
goddammit season 3 when I can't believe Kaiji was only working for 8 fucking measly dollars an hour. Damn the japs are savage with minimum wage. Guy manages to even have an apartment too
>Kaiji wouldn't make some amazing strategies at Washizu mahjong but he would break the machine when no one is looking
And would still get absolutely stomped by both Washizu and Akagi. He has absolutely no answer to how far their luck and sense for the game goes and, in Akagi's case, has no real psychological flaw to exploit, which is how a lot of Kaiji's strategies and preparations end up actually working. Akagi is also a really good cheater himself, as shown in Ten.
It was the 90s, but still.
>season 3
I hope you like pachinko
In her prime she could maybe heal his homo by singing.
>latter
you mean former
Formerly Chuck's
I need to remember Akagi's philosophy. I've lost my touch lately.
Did you try playing riichi? Very rage inducing game, goddamn holy monk training + gamble in one package
Non canon comedy
I play it too much.
readin the new chapter, and the mere mention of the bloody manicure still makes me twinge.
I trust Chang and Mario desu
>ywn see Kaiji getting the tendie treament punisment by Endou and pulling some genius trick to hide away 30+ chicken tenders inside his milkshake by chewing them and squeezing throgh the straw
I usually use Mangadex
But kaiji is human trash and only shines when gambling
what the fuck was Nakayama thinking?
He was not like this in the beginning and he is no like this right now anymore, too. His trash gambling picked at betting three physical lives in the Kazooya game and making it back alive. He is in this aniki mode since then, dutiful human bean with obligations and an image to keep.
You should do something about the mouse.
Where in the manga does the anime series end so I can pick up where the anime ends off bros?
>Every single japanese friend Kaiji makes ends up backstabbing him or being a massive asshole
>Make a Chinese and Pinoy friend and they're actually decent human beings for once
What did FKMT mean by this?
Chapter 1
That until the arc ends, then he will waste all of the money in gambling in a month tops, assuming he has any of course.
Sahara got fucking cheated by the way that was goddamn murder those filthy motherfuckers
Akagi would still win. Akagi's bullshit luck is supernatural. When Akagi was old, dying and literally growing retarded, he still forced a perfect draw to a game of Nines.
If I love Kaiji and Akagi are there any other animes worth watching with a similar vibe?
I loved it but the first episode really sucks. If you want to watch it, don't be discouraged by episode 1.
I'd place the OP last if only because it's very awkwardly cut.The ED numbers are both good imo.
Nah, Kaiji will be slightly smarter, try to get into economics and start investing, leading into The Bogdanoff Twins Arc.
Akagi only has bullshit luck twice though.
Playing it is nowhere near as bad as people worse than you trying to give you advice when your only shortcoming was luck
Who would win?
Kaiji and co or the Bognadoffs?
not so fast, thread.
'Fuck is this crap
Not realistic. I don't think anyone would act that way, especially considering how stupid he was. He is the sole reason I dropped watching the series, is it worth picking it up again and is the manga superior?
>Wanting another bogs arc.
akagi solos
no one can beat akagi
>almost 11 hours and the thread is still going
Nice
Seems to be some sort of live action adaptation.I wonder if it's actually good.
>Investing maverick Kaiji part 7: BOGGED-hen
>Would most people really have betrayed Kaiji?
A normal well adjusted person with an average moral compass? No.
Depraved gambling addicts with terrible personalities? Certainly.
Tokugawa's lecture during the human derby is 100% correct. The only people playing these games are human garbage.
Kaiji is the only well written moralfag protagonist
Chinese adaptation
A very loose one..
Is it good?
Closer to the original than the jap version.
kaiji is literally batman, with prep time he can beat anyone
I think at least Kaiji and Kurosawa share a universe with each other
>Kurosawa had a cameo in the second Kaiji season first episode, if I remember correctly
also there's the gag manga in which all of them share a universe
that looks interesting
does FKMT know about this?
>does FKMT know about this?
Its his own property why the fuck wouldn't he
try mangadex or mangasee
>I think at least Kaiji and Kurosawa share a universe with each other
>>Kurosawa had a cameo in the second Kaiji season first episode, if I remember correctly
I thought that was more of an easter egg in the opening
No if he were to appear in the show, even as a random bystander, that would have been something
Most of his "friends" are formed by the bond of money.
But Chang and Mario's friendship is formed by the bond of their life.
But he wanted money. When you think about it, Kaiji was in the wrong for thinking he was entitled to it since he never could've earned it without Andou's cards and stars. No matter how you look at I was in the right.
I mean Andou was. Yes.
Just give me a FKMT Ocean's 11. Literally all of FKMT protagonists would be an excellent member in a heist movie.
Just Akagi and Zero together with Kaiji would be too fucking OP, it would be absolute curbstopm action with no challenge
Speaking of which
youtube.com
I've only watched the first season of Kaiji, liked it, but how its the second one? Worth watching?
painfully realistic
It's hype.
It'd be so good to see them stomp the opposition
>show takes place in 1995
>characters have smart phones i guess to fit today's time period
>even has a joke about the matrix
>that one episode about how they put black suits in the RPS tables
>one guy is playing a PS1, instead of a more modern console
>probably taken from the panel the manga was from
They just don't care to be honest.
One Outs, Legendary Gambler Tetsuya.
You can also read the rest of Fukumoto's work (Zero, Ten) and things like Liar Game are pretty good.
Read Akagi and Ten you lucky fucker. And Liar Game afterwards
I kinda want to see a situation were Kaiji is the one who is tempted to betray his friends
I think Kaiji mentioned he missed getting the separate insurance in 2001 in part 6
The Horse Racing episode had me laughing so hard, I'm pretty sure I woke my entire dorm up.
Cute!
He has had some. Sahara,Furuhata,Sakazaki and Ishida were all decent-ish friends. His main problem is that he expects most people to have the same level of calmness for cash as he does.
Kaiji can't beat someone who is legitimately good can he? His whole gimmick is turning cheaters against themselves.
>Furuhata
>leaving Kaiji with a massive debt and then betraying him later after Kaiji carried him through RRP
He was hardly a decent friend.
Akagi's about to kick the bucket so he tries to go out in a fire by fucking over the richest guys in Japan with the scum of the earth that were ruined by them in the first place
because living is more than just surviving
I'm still conflicted between this and MICHAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL being the best FKMT analogy
It was amazing. The Ootsuki episodes were especially good
>him replacing tonegawa for a couple shots in the opening
>that random ass guy with the same food tastes as him
>buys a suit just to troll businessmen
>nut prime
>tfw we could've had zero part 3 but Fukumoto just couldn't contain his mahjong autism
>implying zero part 3 wouldn't contain mahjong
Fukumuto once made an entire series without mahjong
to be fair it was a very short series
As a Fukumoto series progresses, the likelihood of mahjong happening approaches one.
>Kaiji meets old Akagi
>this is part 8
>this happens before the ending of Ten
>then Mamiya happens
>FKMT extended universe
Akagi killed himself because Kaiji is a fucking loser and he doesn't want to end up like Kaiji
Akagi would win hard but Kaiji would survive.
Game to the death. Akagi wins but Kaiji manages to not die but wish he did.
>$8 an hour
>in the 90s
$5.15 was the minimum in the US in the time period
>Kaiji wasn't ripped off guys he made $3 above minimum wage
Well he was working at a gas station
No shit, they were mentioning the minimum wage as if that negated Kaiji being poor as fuck.
>just get a high paying job bro it's that easy
Come on.
Fuck jannies
Fuck niggers
Fuck kikes
But most of all, FUCK Andou
Oh, my mistake
It's cool man
Yamazaki had a hard life
