前略
Well, I didn't get to post the catchphrases or name notes in the last thread. I wound up getting home more early morning than late night, and the thread had died. So I'll just put it here.
And with that, our little dork is all grown up and graduated. It's amazing how fast they grow.
Aika's name is 薔薇の女王, lit. Queen of Roses. Just like Akira's, it's very straightforward with no complicated kanji shenanigans.
Akari's is 遙かなる蒼, lit. Receding Blue. The total opposite, it's got weird kanji. Now, I'm not the best at complicated kanji, but here's my best interpretation. The "Distant" in the chapter title isn't quite right, as it is something that is becoming more distant. So the blue of the horizon that you're leaving behind. Or for a more poetic interpretation, blue being replaced by all the other colors. As you may know, Japan merges blue and green, and this kanji is more green than blue. "Haru" is also a homophone for "Spring", so it could also sound like "The green of a new spring". Combine that with spring being metaphorical for new beginnings, and you've got a whole lot packed in there. Which all fit in with the kind of themes Alicia was talking about.
Am I right about all that? Who knows, but there's definitely something like that there.
Final chapter tomorrow.
Yesterday had one ara ara and one hahi, so all together, that's:
Catchphrase Counter:
Ara ara: 132
Hahi: 104
Dekkai: 86
Momiko: 40
Kinshi: 37
Suwa: 19
Thanks m8.
>Final chapter tomorrow.
Damn.
Thanks OP, are you dumping anything else after Aria or will tomorrow be the last of the daily manga threads?
Thank you, OP.
Did I miss the chapter where Alicia's romantic life was mentioned, or is her retirement into marriage with Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Manga as sudden as it seemed in anime?
The latter. The one and only time when I thought to myself, "okay, I can see why the yurifags were so mad"
Thanks OP. Very emotional, and I can't believe it's almost over. Guess I just gotta try and take the Akari mindset to heart. I don't think it's appropriate to try and scrape together any trivia or declarations of affections with this chapter.
My goal was to decide by the end of the weekend, but that didn't happen. I've narrowed it down to a couple potentials, but I'm still not sure. There's both more 4koma slice of life or one a bit more out of left field.
There were a few hints, like someone getting her a ring in the marriage of the sea ceremony. But if you weren't looking for them, you could easily miss them.
Thanks OP, sad that this is ending already, it is ending far too quickly.
That someone could have been her father, for all we know, since such a possibility is mentioned and Alicia is a native aquan, so her parents could be still alive and available,
It all feels so short. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to read it. I really enjoyed it for my first read through.
Now's a great time to pick up the anime too.
I wonder why the Aria company never seems to build up employees? Maybe those three should merge their companies together so they can be together longer.
For some reason i always pictures this guy whenever i'm trying to imagine Alicia's husband
But Aria Company being independent is what makes it so comfy. And there's no way Aika could leave Himeya.
bros i'm crying
Bump
Thanks OP. This chapter feels like a final chapter already. Congratulations Akari, but you're always going to be a big dork to me.
It was too much for Akari that ser sanity was slipping for a moment there.
Aria Company is a comfy company. The low employee counts is the price to pay for that.
Aaaa no stop it
Phew didn't cry this time haha.
Does this mean there won't be any more daily Aria threads now OP?
>Does this mean there won't be any more daily Aria threads now OP?
The last Daily Aria Chapter thread will be tomorrow.
Thanks.
Daily Aria, yes. There may be a new daily series.
Daily Hidamari Sketch?
Hidamaria?
Not apocalyptic enough for OP. He loves the Earth falling apart.
Kuro?
These last two chapters have both made me cry. There's something really special about reading the chapters daily, the slow(er) pace makes the emotional impact a little stronger, I think. I'll be very sad if there isn't another daily manga thread after this one, though.
It doesn't have to be the end of the world. I just like cute dorks, and it just happens they often manage to stumble their way through the apocalypse.
The apocalypse can be pretty comfy. It really makes you appreciate the little things.
And also helps go back to a slower pace of life.
Holy fuck I aspire to be as optimistic as Akari. She is a ray of sunshine, illuminating my sad heart. I cry every time she says something profound or happy.
遙かなる doesn't actually mean it's becoming distant, despite the なる. It's just 遙か with greater emphasis.
Thanks as always, OP!
To add to this, the なる gives the word a feeling of reverence
Thanks OP!
