Part 4, part 3 feels like most of it is filler

3's crew is unsurpassed and I can still remember even the throwaway fights like The Sun in perfect detail, Part 3 is insanely memorable front to back. It's just one iconic scene after the other. The conclusion is also one of the best parts of all of Jojo.

4's crew is so bloated that nobody but Josuke, Jotaro, Okayasu, and Koichi get any meaningful screentime. And I can't even remember the vast majority of the fights. It's a fun ride by the overall package is a fog of non-happenings that blend together. Kira is a compelling character but isn't used to his fullest extent and the final fight hinges on him being a retard and luck.

Both are leaps and bounds better than 5 and 6, though.

I like how part 4 didn't have almost every fight end with Jotaro ORAOAROAROAR someone or Polnareff and how light hearted it is compared to other parts but it's very weak outside of Kira

Most of the first half of Part 5 could've been resolved if Bruno and Giorno just fucking talked with La Squadra. They literally had the same end goal, all they had to do was say something.

Pesci + Illuso is probably the most broken stand duo I can think of in JoJo, Iluso can just take Pesci into the mirror world and Pesci can just freely kill people by fishing

Eh. Part 3 was more compelling and a lot more fun because of its cast.

I honestly remember Part 3's throwaway fights much clearer. Like, remember the stand names, the stand, the designs of both characters and their stands, how the fights play out, where in the trip they were, and memorable little bits like "DO YOU UNDERSTAND?", the cigarette trick, Mannish Boy eating shit, etc. It's all intensely iconic and memorable.

Outside of standouts like Superfly, Cheap Trick, and Pearl Jam most of the part 4 side fights are a blur to me. It's just a meandering blur of fights that don't stand out enough.

Stardust Crusaders is pure filler, at the time they get into the plane you know they won't fight dio until like the last 2 episodes, you hope there will be at least some story in between but there isn't any.
And the only good character is Polnareff, the nigger isn't really used, iggy dies just when he starts to do something, kakyoin gets shafted early and basically just comes back to die in one punch. Jotaro doesn't speak and doesn't become good until part 4 as a side character, and Joseph isn't half as good as he was in part 2.
Some fights are fun but in general is a slog of fighting a "villain" jobber over and over.

MC:Josuke is obviously better, because he is always expresing different feelings and not being autistic with everyone, Jotaro is just a stoic guy at least until the end, still not enough.
Crew:While Jotaro is boring his crew is different, everyone has a role and is important to the plot, they are very charismatic and all of them has a "time to shine", in exchange part 4 has a better character development, for those chosen characters, everyone else that is introduced is useless and does basically nothing to help the plot and they end up being only filler.
Antagonist/final fight:Dio is presented as the antagonist since the start, he only send stand users with the excuse of not having control of the body of Jonathan, basically until the final fight we don't know too much about him, until that, DIO appears as a calmed guy that chooses his actions very well, he loses because Jotaro's plot armor, but the fight was very tense, iconic and entertaining. Kira is presented in the half of the anime after a race over the bow and arrow, he is presented as a guy that wants a normal life, but also he commits assasination with his stand only to satisfy his hand fetish, in the end he is a lucky guy kinda intelligent but a the same time the plot is always fucking him up with stupid bullshit, Hayato is shit, the final fight is the mc vs the bad guy, Okuyasu fucking dies in the fight and he revives at the end, because why not? in the end Kira does more things, and is kinda more charismatic than DIO, but the final fight sucks.

Part 3 had all the iconic Jojo scenes but part 4 had WAY better character development and world building. The characters in part 3 were very one dimensional. Part 4 on the other hand, everyone had their own backstories and ambitions.

Part 3 and Part 4 had relatively decent consistency across the story, with a few hiccups or dull fights along the way. You could make a decent argument for liking either better.

Part 5 complete shits the bed after the King Crimson fight.

Part 4's writing, outside of some of the character development, is really bad. All of the tension hinges on characters acting stupid and the final conflict is resolved by an 11 year old kid being a super genius with unlimited resources.
