Its kind of unfortunate for all the fighting comics out now that Kengan exists. Even old salts like Baki are hurt.
Like Record of Ragnarok, or what ever the fuck they call it, is a good manga, but its not Kengan good which makes it seem worse than it actually is in comparison. Its Ryan Locke to Micheal Phelps if you care about the Olympics.

I don't know yet what the connection between Poseidon and Kojiro is or will be, but I am willing to bet that they will be equals and opposites in some way.

If anything, the Gods winning all the fights and still letting the humans live because of the enjoyment is the more creative thing to do. As far as business and marketing go, sometimes stories have to do 'unmarketable' things in order to enhance their novelty and uniqueness.
If everything was about marketability, I mean even more so than it is now, than all series would be even more similar than they are now.

I would say that the art in Baki is better, but the choreography is better in Kengan, they made grappling easy to follow in print, its hard to follow grappling in real-life. The characters are hard to compare given the differences in setting, but I do find the characters in Kengan more fun than the ones in Baki.
