What the flying fuck. Did Araki get his boxing knowledge from some manga more outlandish than Hajime no Ippo?

is that some new form of the Dempsey Roll?
they kind of fucked up the sound effects though, where are the jet engines
Araki has no boxing knowledge. He has no knowledge about anything except music, fashion, and making up complete bullshit on the spot.
It's Kojima syndrome, he read the first paragraph on wikipedia of the general ideia and went off on it. The practice he's talking about is used when you are cornered against the ropes so you throw your weight on them and swing at the person in front of you as you're coming back, creating a stronger punch/push with your momentum so you can try to unrope yourself.
I have no ideia how the fuck he came to the conclusion that boxers had efectivelly gomu gomu no gatling gun.

I blame Ashita no joe for teaching wrong shit about boxing to an entire generation of mangaka and manga readers.
He didn't, Araki bullshits some hard to swallow stuff but I think what Bruno's saying here is that it's the same idea of using recoil to throw a harder, faster punch and naturally a guy wrapped in a power type stand (those things famous for throwing 50 punches a second) bouncing against elastic ground is going to have a bit more kick than a normal guy bouncing against a rope.
Damn I didn't know Araki time traveled just to get inspiration for his manga. Absolute legend.
But isn't Oasis power to make the ground soft/moldable?
How did he get recoil?
The ground has the properties of both rubber and gum.
O MY FAGGY ASSISTANT
He did, he made it like elastic so his elbows would bounce off the ground like a springboard, though the orientation of his body to the ground is another thing. He must have some huge fucking swings but again, since he basically is a high-tier power stand that's not too far out there.
I think it's always important to keep in mind that fighting a Stand is a really strange experience. It's manifested willpower that can alter reality. Bruno's assessment might not be accurate, but it's an example that grounds the experience. It's not like he has a ton of time to really give this thought, and human brains come up with bad examples all the time. He just needed to understand what Oasis was doing to make its punches so brutal.
Araki clearly used the first idea that came to mind to represent this idea, as did Bruno.
The speed at which Oasis makes the ground liquid is instant. If he didn't feats like jumping out of a helicopter wouldn't be possible. Cancelling his ability doesn't seem to leave the ground warped, so we can assume it snaps back into place once he's done interacting with it. If he rapidly activates, warps the ground, then cancels his ability, it's no wonder he found a way to abuse it.
I think he was thinking of a wrestler hitting the ropes for a clothesline
araki analogies are based, like a winter catfish
Truly his storytelling glides across the summer wind in exactly the way a bowling ball does not.
