It never was intended to satirize battle manga. This literally some bullshit psuedo-intellectuals made up when the series became popular so they can feel like they're reading something deeper than it actually is.
Rather, it's purpose was to make a battle manga with protagonist that is immensely powerful at the start of the story. Some typical battle manga scenarios make take hilarious spin with this set-up, but that doesn't mean the story is satirical as a whole

Also. JFC the amount of retards who in this thread who think the term "shounen" (which refers to a manga's intended audience and nothing more) is synonymous with "battle manga". Yea Forums's community has gotten dumber over the years.

Most of the gags involving Saitama involve his lackadaisical attitude and his awkward relationships with others rather then his immense power. Most of the series doesn't even revolve around him.

So typical "shounen" means just having some actual battles and some worldbuilding here and there. Not about how those elements are executed?
