Why people hate the fact that part 3 is episodic but love part 4 that it's even more episodic? I don't even like part 3 that much but it's strange how people hate the enemy of the week formula on part 3 but no on part 4. Especially when the first half of part 4 is irrelevant to all the kira stuff. It's because part 4 is SOL and a lot of people like that stuff or what?
Why people hate the fact that part 3 is episodic but love part 4 that it's even more episodic...
Part 4 takes longer to get into the main plot with Kira, but it actually is much less episodic than Part 3. Most arcs lead to the introduction of characters or events that actually appear or are referenced later, while most battles in Part 3 after the first few are completely standalone.
I think it's jarring for people who read it in order, and basic compared to later parts. So it just doesn't compare well
I think it helps that part 4 takes place in the same location the entire time, building up the list of characters in Morioh.
While part 3 is traveling to a new place, beating an evil stand user, and moving on to the next place.
I usually like SOL stuff but most of the characters in part 4 are one dimensional and not given any time to be fleshed out. They're there to build the town and not much more, which kind of messes with the character vibe the whole part is attempting.
I think part 4 is weaker than 3 just because of all the missed potential.
Part of it is that Part 3 isn't setup to be episodic narratively. Its all a mega-arc to defeating Dio.
Part 4 is setup to be episodic. There are arcs leading up to Kira. So its easier to fit in random stories here and there.
>Most arcs lead to the introduction of characters or events that actually appear or are referenced later,
Yeah but how many of those characters really matter in the end? I'm not saying that they are bad but outside of cinderella and yukako none of the secondary characters matter. Some of those characters had potential like the alien guy and tonio but after their arcs they almost are backgrounds characters
all of jojos is mindless enemy of the week drivel
>we must travel across the world to find and defeat (insert big bad villain here)
>but along the way we fight countless of his henchmen with STANDS
>in the middle of the story, we have a brief skirmish with (big bad villain)
>in the end we defeat the (big bad villain) with an asspull
its like the scooby doo of shonen
>Part of it is that Part 3 isn't setup to be episodic narratively. Its all a mega-arc to defeating Dio
But part 3 is even less episodic than part 4. Everytime they defeat an stand user in part 3 they move on a new place so it's not like nothing it's happening. But in part 4, even after kira is introduced, there are still filler stuff that doesn't help in the search for kira. The janken guy and super fly for example
>Part 4 is setup to be episodic. There are arcs leading up to Kira. So its easier to fit in random stories here and there.
Yeah but i don't think it was a good idea to do that in the middle of the search for kira. It's weird seeing the characters doing normal stuff while knowing that there is a serial killer that has taken the identity of someone else.
Part 1 is the only good Jojo part.
Because
Jotaro>Josuke
Dio>Kira
>people love Part 4
Since when? Even anime-only secondaries don't like it.
Fags who complain about
>muh monster of the week
are just delusional shitposters who should be ignored
Haven't you seen how much people like it in all the jojo threads? It's with part 7 the most liked part
why are you spacing your post like that, HiatusxHacktard?
isn't your manga going through its own part 5 rip off right now?
>muh seekrit klub likes it...
lmao yeah, Yea Forums has shit tier Jojo threads for that reason
Because part 3 was Pokemon Johto tier episodic. Part 4 was just dudes dicking around in their home life which by itself was way more entertaining.
To be honest, i never understood why people hate the monster of the week trope so much. If the stories are good, it doesn't matter if the show is episodic or not. And almost every jojo part is episodic anyway
I didn't mean to say that only in Yea Forums people like it. Ask people what their favorite part is and they will say part 4 or part 7 (part 5 if they have shit taste)
Only redditors like 4.
>Pokemon Johto tier episodic.
You made me remember how many filler johto had for a series that itself is filler almost all the time. Thanks user
>Yeah but i don't think it was a good idea to do that in the middle of the search for kira. It's weird seeing the characters doing normal stuff while knowing that there is a serial killer that has taken the identity of someone else.
Jotaro was searching for Kira the entire time. The constant search for the murderer and the arrows was referenced as happening off-screen several times. The team just didn't have anything to go off on, so they went about their lives in the meantime. Its not weird at all.
Part 3, we know, and the characters know who the main bad is. They know where the main bad is. And they know how to get to the main bad. Every side story that takes away from getting to the main bad is just a hinderance narratively, because the story is "GOTTA GET TO DIO NOW! HURRY HURRY HURRY!" the entire time.
Part 4, at first its just random Stand users, and Jotaro after the arrow. And that lasts for a while. Then its "oh shit, there's a serial killer on the loose".. but who? where? how? Even after Kira gets punked, but gets away, the team has so little to go on. So Jotaro does the research while life goes on, until something comes up. Then they find information. Things start building up, and we get the final showdown.
My point is that the problem isn't that readers dislike Part 3 for being episodic because they dislike episodic stories. Its that the episodic nature of Part 3 doesn't fit with its narrative. And they don't have an issue with Part 4 being episodic, but it does fit its narrative.
>Jotaro was searching for Kira the entire time
you mean Rohan, Jotaro needed a filler scene of him "searching" for Kira added to the anime
Jotaro was searching too. The entire reason they end up fighting Kira the first time was because Jotaro was following up on the button from Kira's jacket.
But yeah, I forgot about Rohan taking pictures and following up on that as well.
Could a Jojo beat a servant?
