Pretty nice slice of life episode this week where Coyote wasn't trying to ruin everything, but still unintentionally did. The scene in the garden was great. Even if I'm not as attached to these characters as the author probably wants, it was still very well done.

Also, I thought Coyote believing Arata was Seimei was going to be a big deal, but then Arata casually mentioned that Seimei was dead or something and Coyote didn't react. Then Coyote is just saying "Seimei called me Kohaku, but what will you call me?" Just seems strange. I expected this to be a huge thing when Coyote was told the truth.

He must know by now that Seimei is dead. Even this episode he acknowledged the passage of time by saying the surroundings have changed a lot. Maybe he considers Arata a friend now like Seimei was so it isn't as devastating to him.

Yeah, I mean, Arata acting like he actually was Seimei in episode 1 or 2 and Coyote not realizing was and would be extremely stupid, especially because he's not shown to be unintelligent. So, I'm completely fine with that not being a thing.
Having the story develop into a nice new relationship between the two would be my preferred approach. I think I said that I was hoping for it to go that way several weeks ago. So, it's nice to see it possibly actually going down that route?
It's a shame the animation quality isn't that great and that there are only four episodes left. Seeing Yatagarasu was great, though. The "Kuro" name joke was pretty funny, too. Long neck Another was cute, as well.

Despite the ominous ending from last week, I think the user that suggested this Another would be the end boss might be correct. The way he talked like he was above Azazel and just wanted to see him suffer until he finally realized he can't be with a human woman made him seem pretty end game-y. Maybe he's just some reference from Azazel's lore, though. Either way, we'll probably find out next episode what these final episodes will be about.
I wonder if they'll ever go back to some of the cases that couldn't be resolved, like Pandora and Azazel. That'd be pretty cool if that were the case. Going for a long resolution on some of the cases after finding someone that could actually help resolve it. However, in this episode, Theo or Senda said that the Azazel case had been "solved", so it seems like sometimes just figuring out what's going on is their only priority, rather than actually fixing it.

Well, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Perhaps he's just going about it the wrong way. If not, surely with the entire pantheon of every mythology ever created, there's some god or demon that could solve his problem.
But that's just the path I'd want the story to go down because it would be cool for Arata to basically amass himself a following of Anothers that help him with cases and stuff after befriending them with his Ears of Sand, much like Seimei before him, with the more powerful Anothers that help him resolve older cases as the story goes on. However, I'm fine with the cases basically remaining unresolved if that's how it is.
This anime has a lot of cool ideas. It flubs a little here and there, especially with character interactions, but I'm surprised at how much I like it. Clearly, I've been in need of a police procedural demon anime.

Almost completely worthless episode and exactly what I'm here for. Now that we've had an episode about a relaxing day off for all the cast, in Theo's case just working more, of course, I'm worried for what's to come, since the proof of just how other the another are has been getting harsher and it's taking a toll on Arata.
I wasn't expecting a comfy episode in this show at this point but I'm glad we got it.

I feel for a show like this this kind of episode is more important than it declares to the audience. Following the conversation above, I was thinking that Another understood some humans as just reoccurring in some way, but this episode showed Huehue giving Arata space to be an individual, while also confirming something he hasn't made clear to the viewer. We can't know for sure if he understands it the way we do, that ambiguity is left, but we also can't know if there's something he senses and tests that Arata hasn't realised yet. There's little processes at work that progress the relationships between characters and their status and that's what keeps this going. It's a lull but it feels like a critical transition to the next plot point.

Their laughs were cute too. This was a good scene, he's not pretending to be cute, he truly equally enjoys dancing on fountains and the despair of ancient demons. Arata doesn't fear or appreciate him enough, once he's about to do one he gets pulled in the other direction.
