No. Moomins and Maya the Bee were.

Nope

It depends on how strict your definition of anime is. I vaguely remember watching Robotech, Voltron, and Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs when I was very young. At the time though I didn't know there was anything different about them, they were just cartoon to me.

>Maya the bee
Ah,I remember that too.The cricket was a giant fun-hating faggot but he balanced the two main characters well.

No, and I never really watched it at all. I did watch some CCS though.

Either that or heidi or some world masterpiece theater rerun

Nope, it was Pokemon.

You mean the grasshoper? He was alright tho? The other bee was a total klutz.

Yeah 1994

I think they called him a cricket in my country's dub,but I might be misremembering things since I was 5 at most at the time. One thing I do remember though is that they made beehives look really cool in that series.

No it was the 2nd after DBZ

Nah

Not sure if this an anime (but I still like April)

Attached: grope.jpg (650x518, 31K)

This and some soccer anime where the main character's main rival was an excellent goalie.

No, I think it was either one of these three:
- Ranma ½
- Kyatto Ninden Teyandee
- Gosuto Suipa Mikami Gokuraku Daisakusen

no it was dragon ball

The one which gave birth to a new generation of fujoshi?

Attached: Captain_Tsubasa.jpg (1264x711, 307K)

holy FUCK i hated this shit..they took 5 fucking episodes to do a shot..

Old anime was like that. Dragon Ball fights lasting several episodes etc.

I think it was Zoids Chaotic Century's sequel for my first.

It's probably what it was after reading the plot description on wikipedia. The strange this is that the animation style I remember is completely different from this. It's been over 20 years since I've watched it, though.

DBZ aired before it in the block, so no.

Yes, Sailor Moon Slam Dunk and DBZ were my childhood trifecta.

(although what I ended up falling in love with was Eva and Rorouni Kenshin)

Mars and Jupiter are best girls, the rest are turboshit.

>Maya the Bee
Same here. I actually didn't get to see Sailor Moon at all because in my country it aired when I was in school.

No, but Sailor Moon made me an anime fan. Back then I realised that I like to watch shows about cute girls and that's what kept me interested ever since.

Pokemon in 1999 actually BUT I may have seen episodes of Sailor Moon here and there once in a while and some DBZ back in 97-98 at a friend's house. I also think my first anime was reruns of Speed Racer that aired on CN back in 1993, maybe. The past is a little hazy for me and I only truly dedicated to anime due in part to Pokemon.

Its still the best looking anime

Nope.

Yes. It was first on Toonami's afternoon lineup.

Even in that small original resolution, the details are still fine enough to make out. Most 1080p anime can't do that.

I never have. Should I try the new one or the original?

When I was younger you made fun of guys watching Sailor Moon.

Nope.
Heidi, Cat's Eye and Attack No 1 came before Sailor Moon for me. Germany had many decent dubs that didn't butcher the source material way before anime got popular in the US.

>new one

Attached: mercury_pinch.webm (512x384, 351K)

No.
But it IS certainly responsible for my leg fetish.

Original because you can see it for what it was. The new one later on, it doesn't quite capture the same magic and is from what I understand more accurate and has its own way of doing things.

Sailor Moon here had "Sailor Moon Says" thing that promoted a bunch of non sense.

Great thing about about the original Sailor Moon was that is was really campy and made fun of itself. Everything was a joke about magical JCs and girls ragging on each other. Then somewhere along the line it all took a series turn and the story was worth following.

Long legs in red heels was the greatest thing ever. Probably why I like Venus too because she has similar heels going on.

Yes, came on early during school days

Not quite

Speed racer now that I think about it. When MTV ran it after Beavis and Butthead

That's hardly a fetish
Most straight males appreciate a good pair of legs

I wish I remembered the dates when it was reairing. I would love to remember when I started watching anime. I also remember Speed Racer X too, that was pretty awesome.

There's the lineup for all dates.

OP, the likelihood of a majority of people having grown up with SM and/or DBZ is pretty much gone in 2019

One of the first, I remember giving my childhood crush friend the first volume as a gift cause she liked it and she took it then rejected me when I asked her out.

Nah it was original series Pokemon.

Needless to say I have a soft spot for campy 90s anime because of it

My first was Doraemon

Attached: mercury_facetime.gif (540x402, 470K)

I think Speed Racer was, if you can call that anime
(honestly it feels more like a "Japanese cartoon" than something made like an anime).

It's anime, just really old anime. Its newer than Astro Boy and older than Gundam 0079

I think my first was probably gigantor or mysterious cites of gold, an episode or two of battle of the planets too, this would have been back in the 90s.

I didn't really realize it was anime but I had the VHS tapes for The Noozles and watched it on Nick Jr when I was a kid.

Attached: nooztitle.jpg (300x229, 14K)

It was either Speed Racer or Superbook.

Attached: 1397556443-Superbook_inside.jpg (550x368, 104K)

Yes. That and Pokemon.

Sailor Moon is the single greatest artistic creation of the past thousand years

Some cartoons in the 80's were animated with Japanese staff so some have that anime aesthetic to them. I wasn't sure if Transformers was anime or not because Armada was and was a alternate retelling of the original story. I have to be careful of some 80's cartoons because I might mistake them as anime and some anime as cartoons. Now that I think about it I might have watched some anime back in the late 80's too.

Attached: ffff.jpg (1280x720, 93K)

Armada, and the whole unicron trilogy, was a dubbed anime, no different from shit like TF victory

Robots in Disguise with the firtruck Prime too

I loved old 80's action cartoons because of the japanese animators involved. Some of those cartoons were were pretty awesome and the OPs were memorable.

Same.

either sailor moon, pokemon or dragon ball was the first series i actually understood being anime
before that i watched heidi and wickie

My nigger

Mako-chan best girl

It was probably Pokemon. Maybe Dragon Ball.
They had Sailor Moon reruns early in the morning when I was a kid but I never woke up early enough to watch them. I was able to watch the entire series last summer though, that was fun.

No, it was Shin-chan

Probably Pokemon like most. It was fucking everywhere during that time. Card game, TV Show, game-boy games. Sailor Moon was close second with Ranma though... I wasted so much of my younger life reading Sailor moon/ Ranma 1/2 fan fiction. Before FF.net was a thing. Where the fuck does the time go.

No, it was either Attack No. 1, Cat's Eye or Dragon Ball

No, Robotech was
