I continue to be baffled by the Index series's success. Watching an episode of Season 3 is like having a fever dream. This show also constantly shits out new waifus, only for people to only recognize the Railgun crew. How does anyone take this story seriously when it's all about factions subdivided into dumbass groups populated by little girls with superpowers and nebulous motives?

Watching seasons of this, the only reason I can think of as to why Touma does anything is because he's the main character and happens to be around when stuff happens. It's boring and confusing as fuck.

The anime is a mediocre, rushed adaptation but at the same time it's true Kamachi has a bad habit of introducing new girls of the week for people to jerk off too. People say it's good worldbuilding or fun to see many perspectives but at some point it becomes character bloat.
Ironically enough it's not as big of a problem in Accel's spinoff. Some of the antagonists that appear actually show up in Railgun later and get further development, rather than being ignored.
