Episode 104: 犯行声明 – Hankō Seimei (Claim of Responsibility) Thanks to the efforts of Playmaker and his allies, Den City is now at peace again. Meanwhile, Ai and Roboppy sneak onto a ship owned by SOL Technologies. Ai attempts to initiate contact with SOL’s top executive, Queen. Just what is Ai’s motive?!
>ai made most of yusaku's deck which is random cyberse shit It would be completely in character for Ai to have random cyberse shit just like Yusaku does. An archetype would sort of be a stretch.
human ai borderline looks like a boss monster rather than someone walking around the city
Carter Price
Marry: Queen As a top SOL exec, she has the most money, clearly.
Fuck: Baira A prodigy doctor who worked on Lost Incident when she just became an adult. Likely has the best genes of the three.
Befriend: Ghost Girl Probably gives close associates a discount for her hacking and intel services. But otherwise is the weakest of the three.
Angel Hernandez
What boss monster do you think he looks like?
Landon Morales
> All this kibou due to one good character design. AI hasn't even spoken one line and we still don't know the plot, and yet you think this season will be any different from the previous seasons?
>restore dead people Key word: people. No AI got brought back.
Leo Lewis
And Aoi?
Austin Morgan
you should believe on Link Numbaz Sanjukyu: HOPPU SAIBARSU
Jacob Kelly
Why is Yuya such a Action Card whore?
Xavier Gutierrez
Marry Queen because I've heard her personality type compliments mine, fuck that fine purple-haired piece of ass, befriend Kyoko
Jacob Mitchell
He only undid the neuron link, which is presumably what happened to everyone that lost duels during the conflict as well. The Ignis were all merged with him on a fundamental level. If he had the power to save them, he would've had the power to not die himself.
Asher Flores
why Arc-V manga is so fucking gay, Yuzu is useless and we don't have Ruri/Shinji/any nostalgia crossover except for the 5D's references?
Xavier Martin
the manga is all "YUYA wins with action cards LUL" and zero substance
if random dork dwagins managed to beat gouki, cyberse easily has no trouble
Luis Price
Zero was really cool. Also, they couldn't add many duels in a manga that short so they had to focus on Yuya and Reiji.
Sebastian Clark
>"Get to work you lazy ass, we got a new season!" >"Tch, it's that time of the year again huh...alright, brainstorm me, what's meta right now?" >*Shows pic* >"Okay, this will do...and here we go again"
Go in that pic looks like an action figure you would buy at a pharmacy bargain bin for a kid you forgot to buy a present for on the way to their birthday
David Rodriguez
I hope ot's just a placeholder in the opening and that he gets soon replaced by LI children ormore human Ignis.
Michael Fisher
>DP22-JP026 地縛地上絵 Jibaku Chijoue (Earthbound Geoglyph) >Spell Field >You can only use this card name’s (3) effect once per turn. >(1) While there is a face-up Level 10 monster, this card cannot be targeted by, or destroyed by, card effects. >(2) A Synchro Monster can be treated as a 2 Tributes for your Tribute Summon of an “Earthbound Immortal” monster. >(3) If a Synchro Monster is Special Summoned: You can add 1 “Earthbound Immortal” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. I really hope their last card can get everything to work together.
>lostincidentchildrenfags how many times do you want to get BTFO?
Hunter Russell
Ai is merciful enough to let Yusaku live even if he beats Playmaker so Yusaku has a high chance of losing.
Xavier Gomez
>lostincidentfag back at it Please user I don't want to see you get hurt anymore. It stopped being funny
Jeremiah Baker
I'm not a lost incident fag but I'd rather anything to Go, I've disliked him from day 1 and though he might be cool as a small villain I can't stand him as a "hero".
Carter Campbell
WHERE ARE MY PREDAPLANTS
Lincoln Green
i'd rather anything than revulva but we can't all have our way now can we?
>which is presumably what happened to everyone that lost duels during the conflict as well Not quite, but we saw him collecting Blue Maiden and Soulburner's data, while Lightning took Blood Shepherd and Spectre's. I don't quite remember what happened with Kusanagi and Revolver's though.
>Kusanagi and Revolver The winner usually gets to absorb the data. Kusanagi's data was absorbed by Ai. Revolver's....is weird because his data turned into flower petals and just sort of scattered. I guess Ai couldn't absorb him even though Ai's right beside him because Ai's not the duel winner.
Nolan Ortiz
Yeah, but I mean Ai that absorbed Kusanagi's data kinda died, so that's weird too. I guess since Bohman was synced with Mirror Link VRAINS he could assemble the data that was scattered around in it.
Easton Green
like a cute shota
Christopher Nguyen
That's lewd.
Landon Peterson
I fucking love Ai's design. I can't wait to see what the other ignis' human form look like.
>protects itself >but still gets competition from Mound >enables summoning of Inti and Quilla in the same turn without Links >easily activated search effect >but can only currently search Revival and Roar, neither of which are overly good I love how much this helps the deck, but until we get more Earthbound support, it's a little lackluster
Cameron Thompson
>enables summoning of Inti and Quilla in the same turn without Links What bugs me is that that doesn't work with Super Priest. >Can't summon Super Priest by its own effect if you just control one but haven't summoned the other >If you've already Tributed one for an Earthbound and summoned the other, you don't need Super Priest to search and you can't use its effect
Isaiah Sanchez
Already does.
Henry Jones
What would the Ritual Dimension of DM have even looked like and who would even guest star from DM in 5Ds?
I hadn't even thought of that. But I don't feel bad about missing out on his effect from Normal Summoning an Immortal, it's just a stupid cheese effect that's bait for shitty replay channels.
Jayden Powell
Doma arc's monster designs are my least favorite of any other arc's in the franchise.
James Russell
It's easily the worst part of DM. Atem losing and him realizing what his relationship with Yugi actually consists of is interesting, but the arc just fucking drags and the Dartz duel and backstory and motivations behind Dartz are just fucking awful.
And they never bothered to print any new card from that arc until like a decade later
Blake White
Eh. I like some. Eatos is cute, Timaeus/Critias/Hermos fusions are fine. Not sure if I consider Armor monsters as monsters. Kuribandit is okay. I struggle to remember the rest. It's not nearly Virtual World levels of bad. Or the Kaiba's championship that was after WtD. Kaiba's and Jonouchi's duels were pretty good and WtD also had this cutie reappearing, so it's okay on my list.
Virtual World is my favorite DM arc. Everybody dueled, it was FUN, Kaiba lost a duel and swallowed his pride to save Mokuba, and everyone had some pretty good character development there in general. Same with KC Grand Prix. That Kaiba vs Seigfried duel where Kaiba wins with 50 LP left is one of the best duels in the series imo. DOMA was just too...edgy.
Kaiba didnt lose yet. Noah happens right before the finals. Its filler arc shoved in a really bad place which is why it gets as much shit as it does. I think people would have liked it better if it didn't interrupt the main story, but it makes sense to be there because you need Kaiba's backstory to understand why winning Battle City is so important to him.
>Everybody dueled, it was FUN That's just wrong. I don't think there was a single fun duel in this arc, even with characters that usually deliver like Kaiba and Jonouchi. Antagonists were just that boring. And with Honda, Anzu, Shizuka and Otogi it just felt like a total waste of time. >That Kaiba vs Seigfried duel where Kaiba wins with 50 LP left is one of the best duels in the series imo. That we can agree on. Especially considering that it introduced CED. Overall arc was super boring though.
I really want him to stay playful because the interactions with Roboppy would be cute, but I also wouldn't mind if he turned serious and angry because that's exactly what happened to Yusaku (cheerful kid -> traumatic situation -> hell bent on revenge) so it makes sense.
Cooper Morgan
More like Relinquished.
Nathan Hughes
Maybe he'll be playful-edgy like early Arc-V Sora >"hahaha watching you x̶y̶z̶ ̶s̶c̶u̶m̶ humans suffer is so fun!"
Justin Morgan
Hopefully Roboppy would be pure, innocent and not edgy.
I completely skipped season 2. Should I jump back in?
Nathan Richardson
You could honestly probably get away with watching just the recap episode, though you'd miss out on a lot of Ignis characterization and Soulcuck being shoved down your throat. The technically main villain was forgettable and doesn't matter, but Lightning was great and you should watch all his duels.
Liam Myers
I think it goes without saying that if you skip a whole damn season, you're gonna be missing out on a ton and have no clue what led to how things are now.
Angel Perry
Well obviously I’d just start playing catch-up with season two
Dominic Sullivan
Hopefully Yusaku confronting someone similar to his S1 self will lead to him making a long winded speech about kizuna
Daniel Flores
Go right ahead, and have fun user!
Matthew Reyes
I get it he feeling they started with a recap episode with people in your position in mind.
Parker Garcia
Doubtful, considering recaps are almost always intended to buy time for animators.
Bentley Young
S2 isn't as boring as S1 though, so you can check it out.
Aren't the majority Dark though? I feel he'll stick to that.
Jacob Cook
I don't understand why Ai wants revenge. It was fucking lightning the incel and Bohman that killed all his friends, not SOL
James Reyes
>incel
Isaac King
SOL did kill Earth
Noah Foster
true
Dylan Morales
>Ai makes cards I don't know why people keep saying that. Yusaku was using Cyberse before Ai came onto the scene.
James Long
The revenge might just be a secondary objective for his attack. I bet he wants to get into SOL's servers and steal something from them, either Ignis research, the androids, some control over the whole company, of some combination of. I feel like his endgame here is along the lines of reviving A.I. as a species and creating some sort of society with them.
He technically lost to Kiryu and that Brony dude as well.
Jaxon Miller
>muh yusei lost to jack and kiryu
Luke Morris
All the important characters to the A plot are there
Mason Taylor
>technically No.
Adam Sanchez
No. Look at episode 43.
Chase Bennett
>no Takeru >but Aoi is in the cast There's Ai, Roboppy, Queen and SOL employees. Who else did you expect in an episode based on first two sneaking onto SOL territory? I mean, maybe Go, but aside from him everyone relevant is there.
Nathan Price
I'D EXPECT ALL OF THE CHESS PIECES OR ANY OF THEM HOLY SHIT HOW LONG DO THEY WANT ME TO WAIT
Gabriel Long
Windy took 8 episodes from the beginning of season 2 to get to. And that was just to introduce him.
Carter Bailey
Man, Ai is into military stuff? I'm guessing he'll use his coat only in the link vrains while he'll dress as he looks in the opening only when he is irl.
>Playing the real game is a plus? Geez, I don't know.
Brody Reyes
Master rule 4 is great. I love it how colums are important now also links are really interesting cards. Once Firewall was banned I really started to enjoy playing at my locals.
Brayden Jones
Yes. Season 2 pretty much explains all of the events of Season 1. A certain antagonist was responsible for Hanoi and Dr. Kogami's imprisonment.
Hunter Fisher
When are we finally getting drama at the dueling club?
I will when they update it with actual VRAINS content. 4 characters and no story is a joke. They could have added more characters and at least S1's story.
Landon Reyes
I'm starting to think adding vrains' story mode up to the end of s2 is the reason why the "worldwide" version of the game will take up to August to be released when the "Japanese" game can be easily played by everyone and it's already translated to English. I don't really see other reason why they would take 4 months to locate a game that is already ready for launch on west markets.
Owen Bennett
I can't see them doing S2 because only SB has his cards printed. Doing Bohman, Lightning, Windy, Earth and BS is going to be so awkward.
Aaron Wright
The speed duel format is pretty fun too and it's become a great way to get people into the game without overwhelming them with information. At my locals it has picked up really well and most of the new people start in speed duel format. Let's also not forget that the speed duel format was created during the 5ds era for the duel terminal.
Aiden Lewis
You'll get drama when Aoi shits her pants.
Mason Perez
What would they even talk about?
Jason Walker
They added doma characters for the DM story mode. They'll just give them an archerype that is similar to their original ones. Specter ->plants, Windy->Winged beasts, Lightning->Lightsworn or metaphys, Blood Sheperd->Mecha phantom beast, etc.
Aaron Powell
Nah, fuck DL. Picked it up and had to drop after a couple of months, I couldn't stand that garbage game. >Every month is full of repeated events. >Every box powercreeps the last one. >New characters come with jackshit >Jewed and locked the signer dragons behind skills and boxes. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Structure decks EX I really wanted to keep playing after Synchro but the game is beyond garbage
Luke Rogers
Boys, period, what do irl Japanese girls talk about anyways?
Lucas Cox
They need to take advantage of their position before gamble apps get banned in the west.
Hudson Martin
I guess it's possible then, but I just know they'll make it DLC.
Easton Phillips
I kind of understand you but than doesn't make the game non enjoyable to me, honestly. I just love defeating my opponents and hearing them scream once their lp reach zero. It's a really addictive game and I'm always looking forward new characters and events.
>pants someone is projecting really hard over there.
Jack Powell
I am a boomer DM nostalgiafag who enjoys Duel Links. I've never played the actual card game before, but I made it to gold in DL just playing on the bus to and from work. It's a lot of fun and I dont mind all the DM focus since it's really the only show I care about for the most part.
It's funny how despite Arc-V nosediving into complete dogshit, it still managed to be its own thing outside of DM, something that all the other series couldn't.
I really wouldn't object to a "do-over" of Arc-V because unironically I applaud it for being different
Jaxon Thomas
what? >reuses Crow and Jack >Jack suddenly devolves into his 5DS comedy relief version
yeah surely it managed to be its own thing, bravo
Xavier Martinez
Don't know. But I don't think regular girl talk would be a vrains thing anyways.
Jackson Robinson
Where should arcV set it's remake from? I say ep 92 and on.
Michael Gutierrez
>be it's own thing >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Legacy characters Choose one and only one. Also 5Ds, Zexal and VRAINS are way more unique than Trash-V. >inb4 Astral = Atem Yuya-Yuto is more Yugi-Atem than anything Zexal did with Astral.
Sebastian Martinez
>also links are really interesting cards I'd like them more if they didn't make the summoning conditions ridiculously easy. It's like they took Zoodiacs and thought "let's give every deck that, plus summon masturbation".
Gavin Ortiz
ONLY? All the shitchro tournament and shitty boring characters like bee guy, the underground jewelry faggot, the synchro kids and all
remake it straight from that arc and delete all the useless shit, bring more action characters instead
There are a lot of ways you could edit Arc-V to be less shit, but some of its problems run a little too deep, I think. >Synchro is absolutely pointless >So much of the plot requires the viewer to be fed only scraps, but since Leo's goal is a very personal one, it's impossible to sympathize with him without development >The final boss is a cowboy/deviantArt OC who comes from nowhere
Adrian Gomez
Ignis shpping once Lightning human form is revealed anyone?
From a marketing point of view (the anime is a glorified ad), it would make no sense at all. Unless you add the new summoning mechanic and the master rules. Which would piss of the nostalfags, although it would be funny.
That's my genuine thoughts. >Zexal = 5Ds Both of these series had some pretty good moments. Zexal had the whole Barian shenanigans as well as the entirety of Zexal II. 5Ds had the first season as well as the Z-ONE duel which were cool >GX Mostly nostalgia there for me but the Supreme King arc was fucking cool >ARC-V = VRAINS ARC-V had a rocky middle with the Synchro Dimension but I genuinely enjoyed it. The ending was a bit of a fuckup but the first season as well as the Yuya vs Reiji duels throughout made it a good watch. VRAINS on the other hand has been nothing but decent. Season 1 had Revolver carrying it with his autismo shenanigans and Season 2 had Darkfluid which was cool as well as Lightning. I'm genuinely excited to see what Season 3 brings to the table >DM Genuinely think the show is meh at best. While it has some neat moments like Kaiba sacrificing Obelisk or the Siegfried duel overall the show is just saturated with some shit-tier duels and filler that is so far from the plot it gives you whiplash.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk
Wyatt Hughes
Getting Dennis vibes from Ais design How do you think he'll name his handsome alter ego?
Since all the other Ignis are dead/inside of Go then I imagine he may take the name Ignis or just roll with Ai.
I want to see Roboppy duel ASAP I want to know what their monsters are going to do as a gimmick
Sebastian Nguyen
Only if it's based on the manga like FMAB. But that's never happening.
Elijah Russell
Are you by any chance one of those faggots who is butthurt because DM doesnt follow the rules of the card game half the time because the card game wasn't really invented yet?
Yeah, 5Ds had Crash Town but that at least gave Kalin some time in the spotlight DM had the Waking the Dragons arc and the Virtual World arc which didn't really mean anything to the general plot overall. All the characters we meet in those arcs are either discarded or used as scenery and the character development in those arcs are either non-existent or has already been developed before
Dominic Walker
I feel like filler with characters I care about can be more interesting than a main story with bad or uninteresting characters.
Elijah Hughes
>Vrains that high The internet has been invented user. Go watch some anime.
Jordan Gray
I did. LoGh is still the best anime out there and still mad the magician is dead that early instead of that shit head blond faggot.
Brayden Cook
But they would find things that would be so above yugioh that the differences between the different yugioh series would become negligible.
Luis Brown
Are they talking about me? makoto doesn't even have a last name and let alone is he involved with the central event of the series. Anyways, I only care about Miyu bucause her being relevant mean Jin also being relevant.
Cyberse Pendulum monsters would be a neat concept, using the Cyberse aspect of them to access the Cyberse-locked extra deck monsters and recurring them later. Due to the fact Roboppy is a cleaning robot and seems to have cleaning appliances as monsters I think it may be focus on removing your opponents board rather than making your own
Jonathan Wood
not true I watch plenty, and DM is still one of my top 5 anime, caring about the spinoffs as well
Liam Martin
>and DM is still one of my top 5 anime How? It's not even decent when compared to most shonen.
Kevin Jones
Makoto Kimishima or Kellenbocker. Does Miyu have a lastname?
Simple. I'm not a MALfag who cant havr a taste of his own. YGO is way better than most shonen.
Jose Reyes
NO PLAYMAKER IS ACTUALLY SUPER AMAZING IF YOU WRITE ESSAYS ON TUMBLR ABOUT HOW HE'S THE BEST
Aaron Harris
Yusaku being a stoic dude is way better than a clown protagonist. Anyways that's my opinion and there are fans for every protagonist of the franchise.
Carson Wilson
You forgot to add nardo and dead note on your list, normie.
Justin Watson
YOUR OPINION IS A CLOWN OPINION GET REKT NERD
Jordan Williams
Yuya wasn't a clown, he was a pathetic clingy bitchboy too thirsty for his own good.
Evan Walker
Not him but I'm with you on that. I really like how he more of a no non-sense kind of guy that tries to get things done. His intro where he outright rejected both Blue Angel's and Go's challenge to a duel help establish that characterization.
>Saying Exodia Charge together!! >Yugi: E >Judai: x >Yusei: o >Yuma: d >Yuya: Eh, wait, "i" >Yusaku: a >Failure!! >Judai: You've brought shame upon the Supreme King. Huh, Junior. >Yuya: I'm sorry!! But the pronunciation of the "i" sound would not come out!!
Luke Morris
So no arguments about the setting, the atmosphere, the plot, the characters and their development, the artwork, the battles, the symbolism and the writing? Yugioh is better than Berserk and HxH because of the breaks? I get you like yugioh but with no arguments it seems difficult to believe it is better.
Luke Martin
Kek. Yuya, not even once.
Evan Barnes
Wouldn't you be thristy if your friend was this hot?
If Ai's the main villain, he can't outright lose to him. The plot would be over.
James Carter
I could bet my deck Ai isn't a villain at all. Next episode will prove me right. There's absolutely no reason for him to want to erase humanity.
Joshua Moore
So Playmaker's the villain? You're not making much sense.
Gavin Watson
I imagine Ai has nothing against PM Here's how I think the plot is going to go >Sol Tech still has Go under their employ >Sol Tech tortured Earth and put him in Go >Ai wants Earth's data back to maybe recover some part of him >Eventually Earth will be unrecoverable due to Sol's data conversion >Ai will then want to revive the Ignis so he will try and beat each Lost Incident kid to try and remake them >Playmaker is Ai's basis and therefore doesn't really need to be beat >Playmaker duels Ai >Ai wins >Playmaker gets pissed, learns Pendulum or something >Ai makes an android version of each Ignis >Rematch when Ai has made a new version of each Ignis >PM wins >Yee haw roll credits >Shove in Roboppy taking care of the duelists who barely know what's going on like Miyu and Jin while Ai takes care of the competent duelists like Soulburner and Blue Maiden >Shove in Revolver and the Hanoi Gang dueling the new Ignis squad
>ai has nothing against PM But that doesn't mean he's not a villain. I don't understand how the victims will necessarily bring back the ignis. They don't seem to have their data.
Brayden Myers
He can be the villain but still don't want to kill off PM. This means Ai can go all out and PM can lose. >They don't seem to have their data. If they made the Ignis through the Lost Incident, Ai could try and recreate it to try and make new versions of the Ignis. They could go for a "lose the game, get knocked out IRL" thing and have Ai and Roboppy possess those Androids and take them
Jaxson Hall
>He can be the villain but still don't want to kill off PM. I don't seem him being gentle. Just looking at revolver and bohman for examples. >They could go for a "lose the game, get knocked out IRL" thing That pretty much proves he would be fine knocking off playmaker.
Nolan Cook
They just want the LI kids to be relevant so this is what they came up with for them to be part of S3
Nathaniel Bennett
>lostincidentfags STILL delusional ahahahahahah
Robert Murphy
I'm just guessing based on what we currently have available to us. The entire season could just be Ai vs Sol Tech with PM on the fence
Noah Young
That's fine and all. But the way they say they should be incorporated seems to ignore any personal stake they could have and turns them into plot tokens.
Jace Gonzalez
None of them is the villain. Wait for the fourth opening to know.
Every season has a villain prominently featured in the intro.
Michael Ortiz
So completely in line with their characterization til now?
Adrian Kelly
>fourth opening things that will never happen
Levi Gutierrez
How so? One can argue the only thing it does differently is use cards instead of fists or super powers. Themes and character archetypes are largely similar with other shonen. Plot elements are largely similar to borrowing conventional cliches of shonen genre. YGO doesn’t attempt to deconstruct or redefine anything about what shonen is either.
Nolan Gomez
No. Their relationships to the ignis are different and their roles should reflect that. You fall for your own memes?
Isaiah Murphy
>A protagonist and antagonist have to be diametrically opposed and out for each others' blood Chill, user. Morality isn't black and white, and neither are allegiances. I highly doubt even in full edge mode that Ai would kill Yusaku. He'll probably be rebuffed and allowed to recover at best or imprisoned at worst when he loses. Also they'll probably both be kind of "right" about their opposing viewpoints and both will involve some measure of evil in the process of achieving justice.
Benjamin Williams
Yugioh doesn't do nuance.
Jose Perry
I forgot this shit was even a thing
Matthew Richardson
What relationships? Out of the six of them, only two of them have even had a conversation with their Ignis. I don't think Miyu, Jin, or Windy's unnamed Origin even know what an Ignis is.
Camden Nguyen
It might not do it super well, but all the villains throughout the series have been split like 30/70 on being kind of good guys and cartoonishly evil respectively. I'd say both Revolver and Bohman fall in the former category, even if Bohman's motivation was pretty shittily defined, so Vrains has a good track record on nuance compared to the usual. I expect good things out of Ai.
Ryan Green
Their relationship is origin and ignis who don't know each other. Though I think you're wrong on Jin.
Cameron Martinez
The conflict between Yuma and Nasche had some nuance. Someone post the supremely gay cap of them understanding each other.
Christopher Foster
That's a very mediocre relationship and a low bar. It's why Aoi was able to swap in for Miyu.
Carson Perry
In yugioh villains are villains because of their actions not their motivations. It's also why kaiba is always wrong.
Jace Morris
>we have no reason to fight because we have a deus ex machina that can solve everything peacefully but we're going to fight anyways because dramatic climax, nothing personnel
Jace Diaz
You asked what their relationship was.
Eli Barnes
I feel Miyu was not intended to be a relevant character, it was something the writers came up with last minute to keep using Aoi
Brandon Peterson
>last minute Well, probably earlier than that.
Austin Mitchell
Pretty much.
Charles Fisher
Guess they wrote themselves into a corner not making Aoi a LI kid and decided to make a surrogate
Gavin Cox
Call me delusional but I'm very optimistic when it comes to Ai, I think he will not be a villain but an antagonist. He will have opposing points of view but still care about Yusaku and humans. He will be caught between saving his family and Yusaku and his friends, and that would be way more interesting than the regular villain.
Grayson Bennett
reminder that aoi is canonically a lost incident victim now
That's not how it worked with bakura, yubel, zone, nasch, leo akaba and otherwise.
Aiden Wilson
That's exactly what I think. Aoi was meant to be a LI kid but keep postponing it til they wrote themselves into a corner and this was the best they could come up with. It makes no sense to talk about this at this point in the story but to me many things hinted Aoi was meant to be an LI kid.
Jaxson Martinez
>Aoi was meant to be an LI kid. No. She's based off Yasakatome. Who's entirely distinct from the cult the lost incident is based off of. The lost incident water child was always likely meant to be a plot device for her of some kind.
Asher Ross
To me Miyu's introduction feels so shoehorned. If they wanted to use her they could have perfectly stop using Aoi (as they did with Go) and have her as main girl in S2. They could have introduced Miyu a couple of episodes after introducing Takeru as PlayMaiden or SoulGirl and I bet many people would be happier taking into account how much they dislike Aoi. Why complicate the story with a character that they haven't used so far and that according to the opening they may not use at all?
Ethan Wright
This. The fact that Yusaku and Ai both look fucking miserable in the OP just screams "I don't want to fight you but circumstances have pushed us into a conflict" to me.
Jack Green
>If they wanted to use her they could have perfectly stop using Aoi (as they did with Go) You're just dumb. Go's role is to oppose playmaker in some way. They're not going to shaft the main girl because some anons in an Yea Forums thread don't like her. The lost incident water girl was always meant to be connected to her in a minor way. She could have been a minor villain but certainly nothing major.
Ethan Baker
>GX that low This bait is truly the worst in these threads.
Jose Moore
Have you heard about Chekhov's gun principle? Every element in the story must be necessary and irrelevant elements should be removed. There's no need to have characters they are not gonna use, and I don't say they are not gonna use her because it is too soon to say that. Since it seems the writers have a hard time making decisions they may change their mind and use Miyu and whoever they want. I am just saying it would have been better for Aoi to be an LI kid because he doesnt feel relevant nor useful or it would have been better to have Miyu instead as main girl. Look how some anons feel when they see Jin supposed to be a character but the writers don't use him but as a mindless puppet. I don't agree with them but I admit is unfair.
Lucas Martinez
>If they wanted to use her They didn't. They just needed an excuse to give Aqua to Aoi. VRAINS is full of characters who exist for the sole purpose to filling a spot and never get to do anything outside of that.
Eli Murphy
>Arc-V below VRAINS >VRAINS literally above GX >VRAINS that high and not last 10/10 bait holy shit mate
Joseph Watson
Not a good principal to apply to a franchise with writers that will make astrological and mythological allegories just for the sake of having them.
Gavin Jenkins
>Arc V above vrains I don't like vrains either but you're actually delusional if you think arc v is anything but last
Actually the most delusional thing is believe that Arc-V should be last when shit like VRAINS exist. But I don't blame you if you are retarded enough to actually put Arc-V, a trainwreck series that did have actual good, fun and enjoyable moments, and fucking GX, one of the most kino seasons, both of them below VRAINS, aka the most souless season with the most souless summon. I seriously can't wait for the next season to drop this shitty season along with it's shit mechanic. Until then, enjoy it with your shit taste, I suppose.
Jaxson Johnson
Even if they did feel like taking out unnecessary elements, Miyu would hardly be first on the chopping block. You could nix everyone from the last season who isn't Playmaker, Lightning, Bohman, Ai, and maybe Revolver and it wouldn't change much. The cast is a disjointed mess of fodder.
Daniel Brooks
>arcfag literally seething right down to the part where he mentions doing away with mechanics because it's literally what they did with pendulum Vrains is boring and has shit characters but at least it can follow a basic narrative, arcshit going down the drain doesn't make it a better show just because you can rag on the shit writing in the threads all day. Even the synchro arc which is usually left alone is boring garbage that wasted time with the prison shit wasted time with jobber roger and wasted time setting up sergey and the tour arc because all the buildup it had was wasted to shill legacy characters. Cope harder the average fanfiction is literally better than arc v
>Cope harder Funny that you mention that when your entire post show how much have you been seething at Arc-V >Vrains is boring and has shit characters but at least it can follow a basic narrative VRAINS can't even follow the development of his own boring characters and shit characters, including MC. You actually believe that this season follow a "basic narrative"? >arcshit going down the drain doesn't make it a better show just because you can rag on the shit writing in the threads all day But having to watch a cast of annoying characters and a plot so messed up the writers may not know what the fuck are they doing is fine? Ok. >Even the synchro arc which is usually left alone is boring garbage that wasted time with the prison shit It did give us ENJOY Chojiro which it is a very fun character, and it wasn't that bad compared to the hotel in my opinion >wasted time with jobber roger Why did you repeat the word wasted, though? But Roger was a solid secondary villain and you saying that just make me see how much you are traumatized >and wasted time setting up sergey and the tour arc Sergey was a fantastic antagonist, better than Bohman. >because all the buildup it had was wasted to shill legacy characters And that's a problem because? >Cope harder the average fanfiction is literally better than arc v Funny that you mention that because all your post make it sound that you are the one that should cope. Sorry sweetie if I hurt your feeling, but Arc-V (and GX) are above VRAINS, even 5DS and ZEXAL are allowed to be over VRAINS. No worries, it's ok to have shit taste so don't worry, I will not hate you or discriminate you.

maybe you could, I don't know, btfo him with some actual arguments? instead of screeching no u like a fucking baby

That would be creepy.

>coping so hard that you had to repeat that you're not twice how does he do it how can a single man be this angry >VRAINS can't even follow the development of his own boring characters and shit characters, including MC. You actually believe that this season follow a "basic narrative"? Yusaku's development was stupid and badly executed but at least it would make sense if done properly and it only doesn't work because of bad writing. Meanwhile yuya's character makes absolutely zero sense and its development gets reset every season >But having to watch a cast of annoying characters and a plot so messed up the writers may not know what the fuck are they doing is fine? Ok. He said while arguing in favor of the show that gave none of its characters proper development or closure >It did give us ENJOY Chojiro which it is a very fun character, and it wasn't that bad compared to the hotel in my opinion You mean pointless? It's the same usual le egao shit that they hammered us with the whole season it didn't have to exist it brought nothing to the table and is basically filler >But Roger was a solid secondary villain and you saying that just make me see how much you are traumatized He was a complete and utter waste of time. Chessmaster type characters only work when they're actually smart, the average arcfag might find a character whose only purpose are sending security fodder and screaming like a monkey entertaining but he's just a bad character and him getting embarassed by reiji that hard only proved his arc to be pointless. >Sergey was a fantastic antagonist, better than Bohman. His only personality trait is me destroy everything xD, you're only right about boreman being even shittier. As for his antagonist role he was built up well but then he got offed by fucking jack instead of like, giving the protagonist a rematch. >And that's a problem because? The cast is already bloated as fuck, they needed the spolight shilling stole
Tyler Martin
So... how about let's say the things we like and love from each season? No bad things, only good things, and it has to be all seasons. I start >DM: The one who started all, Kaiba is top high successfull rival, Jounochi is based and his duel against Marik was not only one of the best, but he technically won, etc >GX: Judai, in general he was pretty fun and cool but also badass, a lot of meme work potential, Asuka was pretty competent for the time being and also very hot, Saiou, etc >5Ds: First half is still one of the best parts of all, second half has some very good moment like Kyriu arc redemption, Z-ONE duel, Limit Over Accel Synchro, Aporia vs Jack, Rua and Ruka,OST was just perfect, Aki, etc >ZEXAL: Kaito was based, also Number 62 is still my favourite animation summon, although Beyond the Hope is still extremelly well done, Vector is basically the original Lightning, with the time you realize that Yuma got a lot of development, and in general the duels were exciting, also in terms of villain deaths, Mr. Hearland died pretty brutal and didn't get revived. Also Space Ambulance. You can't go wrong with that. Also IV and his fanservice. His Gimmick Puppet were absolutely creepy yet excellent! >Arc-V: With (maybe?) the exception of BB and Leo, the entire cast of Arc-V was pretty loved and very well developed, even when the finale happened they most of the time did develop a few more, then it comes to some Fridge Revelation about that maybe the baby situation with Zarc and Reira was because technically a baby is the most pure thing in existence and is pretty much incorruptible by evil forces until they start taking conscious in this world. True he was more or less influencing her but at the end Reira smiling did won over that influence and actually make Zarc remember how good it was making people smile. Also the duels were pretty fantastic and even not predictable, etc. >VRAINS: While not well developed, Lost Incident is actually a -next post
- very solid setting for future development. When you think about it, it can be more or less compared to Phoenix Wright DL-6 Incident, an event where not only develop a big bunch of character but also keep influencing the setting and other characters. Aoi was not a victim yet she was involved because of Miyu. Also how they show the effects of the Hanoi Project on the children was quite terryfying to see, and that was well made. In general duels may not be that fun compared to other ones but it's good to see unique animations for all summon type (hoping for Pendulums in a future) that are different from other seasons. Emma is a fun character to watch and pretty competent despite being treated as a jobber (and also her loss comes from very situational moments). AI is pretty much the most fun of all Ignis while Lightning was such a sick bastard like Vector, very well done. Also meme of Everything is Lightning's fault is fun In general I think it took me a long time to find good things about VRAINS because is the season that I enjoyed the less. However if I found the good things on it, I think anyone can do it with all seasons
Yusaku called Ai his aibou, there is no going back. That said, I totally bet that Yusaku will act all tsun and angry when Ai starts going all evil.
Isaiah Sanchez
They didn't do it with a prize on mind, it just happened to show up once the task was done.
Cooper Smith
How was Roget a bad villain? He literally had the Lancers by the balls with every move he made. And he was charismatic as fuck. It was always satisfying seeing him rage whenever Reiji outkeikaku’d him
Nicholas Turner
Not without its issues but season 2 is a big step up from s1 and the new season has loads of potential after how it ended.
Cooper Williams
I think how one compares S1 and 2 is going to depend heavily on how they feel about Soulburner and Bohman.
I tought people hated arcV from 92 and on. I'm watching the synchro arc for the first time now and it's pretty great. Yuya vs Crow is one of the fucking best duels I've ever seen.
Andrew Johnson
trash
John Nelson
This. Thanks for pointing it out. I like S1 better because of that. The writers tried too hard shoving Soulburner down my throat and their buy Salamangreats and force us to watch Bohman job four times as boring as he is. The last duel was so boring, 1 episode and they still were in the first second turn.
Lincoln Robinson
>Yuya vs Crow is one of the fucking best duels I've ever seen.
I think people became disenchanted at their own pace. I personally started losing faith during the Miami Championship and shelved it for a while when Yoko turned out to be the worst mom ever. 92 is just a good marker because it went past "let's leave that aside for now" levels of teasing and was just a huge "fuck you" to the viewers.
Nathan Young
Which one is this? Is this a new Borreload?
Asher Martin
yugipedia.com/wiki/Borreload_Furious_Dragon 2 DARK Dragon monsters (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 DARK Link Monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but it cannot activate its effects this turn. You can only use each effect of "Borreload Furious Dragon" once per turn
Josiah Lee
People DO hate Arc-V from 92 onward but it did have its fair share of hype moments and episodes after, but they were really once in a blue moon, especially after the Synchro arc ended.
It may be because some anons really disliked/hated Arc-V post Synchro? Maybe that. I guess tastes really can vary. >Yuya vs Crow That was a very great and fun one. Some people talked about Crow winning and then Yuya going to rescue Yuzu, but then Yuya winning and everyone were BYE BLACKWING. It was hilarious Why is he so furious?
Sure, why not? >DM: duels with especially hype interactions, isn't totally tied into card games >GX: refreshing protag even when he loses, Saiou's voice actor is also fittingly Dio Brando >5Ds: Kiryu shenanigans, Rex Godwin everything, Carly winning Jack's heart Zexal: SPACE AMBULANCE Arc-V: Keikakuman, MC gets bitch slapped, Earthbound 2: Extra Deck Boogaloo Vrains: retro trap memes, Lightning, Chadcode Talker
He just got dumped on and when it seemed like he was securing his power, Kali Yuga KO's a chunk of his army by just destroying their backrow. His breakdown was imminent, but it just felt like the plot especially fucked him over before dropping him into limbo with Barrett. Silver lining: he escaped the indoctrination of EGAO.
Peppering the opponent with artillery fire. It's a shame he can't trigger Rokkets, though.
No. Aoi's just there because Tindangles suck and need someone to distract the opponent while they take 3 turns to get moving.
Since we're getting at least 4 Playmaker vs Ai duels, I hope at least one of them is as good as Yuma vs Nasch. Just finished watching that and it was great.
Jose James
Four?
Joshua Lee
I just realized that Yuma and Shark dueled 6 times over 9 episodes. I wonder what Ai's equivalent of CXyz Barian will be.
They'll spend four episodes on blood shepherd vs androids.
Jason King
They're always indoors, online, so we wouldn't know if it did.
Ian Garcia
Sometimes they show the outside world, there would be puddles.
Gabriel Hall
DM: Kaiba is great all throughout. GX: Protag is pretty relatable, a kid who just sleeps though class and loves duelling. S4 did wonders to his character. 5Ds: Dark Signers arc is one of the best arcs in anime with many of the best and most impactful duels in the series. Zexal: Personally I really enjoy the OST in this one and also has the best visuals. Arc-V: Kino side characters. Shun, Yuto, (Neo New) Sawatari, Reiji and even the DT trio were interesting characters who are the real highlight of the Standard Dimension. Vrains: S1 Revolver.
What's the best way to get into yu-gi: manga or anime?
Alexander Bell
Anime, since they all focus around the card game. Manga wasn't originally about the card game, and after the first series all the manga are loosely based off the anime anyway.
John Wright
If you're going anime, go with SUB. DM is an exception to the rule, but go with sub, for the love of god. The sub will have a great OST that wouldn't be in the Dub. Dub will always replace it with those generic rock shit.
Daniel Wright
Is it enjoyable if i don't know anything about the card game?
Carter Brooks
Yes, in fact the rules weren't even set in stone for the first anime, and most duels are written for the spectacle, not so much on what the best play/deck is. Just need a basic understanding of games and you can follow what's going on.
The card game is largely just the engine for the story to move with.
Camden Rogers
So is Vrains good now?
Josiah Butler
We're about to find out
Justin Peterson
Better than the series you think is good.
Dylan Thomas
But Season 1 is already and 2 is so-so.
Luke Ward
>season 1 >good ahahaha you can't be serious
Jordan Cruz
What's this supposed to mean?
Chase Sanders
It means he thinks you think Arc-V is good.
Thomas Thomas
>implying Vrains is better than it's predecessors.
Logan Myers
no just the one you think is good.
John Martinez
>implying Vrains is better than other series Let Vrains finish and then we talk
Austin Cooper
Well let’s see >DM and GX are so bad theyre good >D5 and Zexal barely left an impact despite being just as insane at times with the plots >Arc V ended in utter infamy >the next season of Vrains can either break or save it
Truly an outstanding track record for this series
Easton Stewart
so if i think all the previous series are good than that means vrains is better than all previous series?
Carter Clark
Fuck you, season 1 actually did have moderately compelling arcs for all main and side characters, and the Playmaker/Revolver conflict was excellent. Worldbuilding was also good. They just shit the bed on the followup to most of the things they set up when transitioning to season 2, like Go regressing, Aoi not escaping her jobber status, etc.
Mason Harris
It's automatically better than Arc-V because it was never good enough to fall so hard.
Aiden Lee
>Playmaker/Revolver conflict was excellent >the main villain which jobs in the first 12 episodes and gets exposed as a complete and total joke lmao a one sided conflict more like it
Chase Harris
>Why is he so furious? Because its effects suck.
Noah Diaz
It's amazing how a villain losing even once completely discredits them as characters to Yea Forums brainlets. He rebuilds the hype by trashing Emma and Go later on. Also was thematically handled very well, and him using the list of three things to try and traumatize Yusaku was kino
Blake Butler
>trashing Emma and Go >let me just take's Playmakers sloppy seconds >still barely won and because writers forced them to misplay hard with their decks lmaoooooooo holy shit revulvafags are actual fucking retards, keep sucking that cock though
John Lee
It's a matter of taste. I like S1 bettter than S2, actually it was S1 what got me hooked on Vrains, and it was S2 who made me want to quit watching it. I feel writers let all the build-up from S1 go down the drain and replaced it with the buy-salamangreats-guy, the multiple personality guy and it-is-all-my-fault ignis. I am not saying S1 is better but I like it better because once again is matter of taste, let's ask people which season they like better.
Kayden Fisher
>beating jobbers >an accomplishment ahahahhahahaha >the second he gets put up against someone competent he gets absolutely BTFO even with the opponent just giving him free stuff and only killing himself because plot reasons
Luke Martin
it’s still kinda sad that the first revolver/Yusaku duel was the most intense one and it’s been a fucking joke since then, especially when you have Aoi jobbing and Emma and Kusanagi being Big Brain losers
Oh ya, and seeing an archetype get it’s dick sucked as the second coming of Blackwings is very compelling
John Taylor
I'd rather salamangreat shill than random dork dwagin shitty trash shill
William Davis
>l-let me take playmaker's sloppy seconds after getting btfo in the first 12 episodes, that won't make me a joke right guiz
Liam Perry
>jobber Only the viewer is that. And only because they watch yugioh.
Anthony Gomez
Its like I'm in the Synchro dimension with all these "lol who cares about jobbers" shit
Christopher Peterson
Jesus christ, jobberfags responding like clockwork. How shallow a viewpoint of stories do you have?
Eli Watson
still trying to figure out how yugioh has nuance. bakura wasn't heroic in the slightest and his whole village was slaughtered in front of his eyes.
Oliver Collins
when you say shit like s1 is great and playmaker vs revolver conflict is awesome and how revolver redeemed himself of course i'm going to call you out on your fucking stupidity
I mean, I laid out why I liked it, and all the responses I got were along the lines of >liking jobbers lol retard as if that means literally anything
Eli Martin
anyone who thinks s1 is good has a shit opinion and their opinion immediately invalidated
Connor Watson
That's the thing, one tries to have a conversation with arguments and examples and end up being called "retard, you like something I don't" but usually don't provide arguments nor examples. It appears different opinions can't be accepted.
>phoenix gearfried structure deck R MORE CHADBURNER BOYS, REVULVA'S ABOUT TO GET BTFO
Jeremiah Cruz
Got a better resolution? Some of those kanji look like black bricks. I honestly can't even read the 週 in the bottom right, I can just tell what it is from the context
Eli Reed
Calm down my dude Arc V wasn't even that good in the first half.
Nathaniel Price
Dumb phoneposter.
Samuel Parker
I translated it. Nothing new besides the obvious confirmation that it's Ai and Roboppy. Then it just says the typical stuff that after Bohman the world is at peace now, and Ai infiltrates SOL Technology's ship.
God I hope we get 105 spoilers soon enough
Adrian Moore
That order
Lincoln James
that flame is terrible
Jace Nelson
And the other ones. And the resolution. Tumblr was a mistake.
I just don't see him losing against geminis that weren't even in the intro.
Eli Anderson
Its just one butthurt arc v hater who cant endure that people that like even half of that season exist
Carson Evans
>DM and GX are so bad they're good This is probably why I love DM and GX so much. 5Ds tried too hard in my opinion and it turned me off the whole franchise for a while. Even Season 0 is stupid enough for me to turn my brain off and enjoy a guy getting lit on fire in a McDonalds.
Revolver just got redpilled by Elon Musk freaking the fuck out on Joe Rogan
Camden Mitchell
What is this "Arc-V" and why does it make everyone so angry?
Kevin Thomas
>made from MC data Not in anime.
Logan Garcia
You have to analyze them by context and in their world cards are the most important thing ever. Much like how in ours kicking a ball can make people rich and famous.
Is Seto Kaiba Elon Musk? Where is drawfag. I need a picture of Seto Kaiba smoking a blunt wrong on Joe Rogan talking about sending trading cards into space.
>are the most important thing ever. They don't control states, they only play card games.
Lincoln Sanchez
A shame Julia and co became so irrelevant. That crystal rose bit was so charming back then before things got weird
William Williams
This is too smug to be roboppy.
Ayden Wood
>they don't control states Nigga, they control dimensions with it.
Chase Allen
regular people don't care about magic.
Luis Miller
No, but regular people care about money and Kaiba has enough money, power, and influence to build a privately owned space station shaped like his corporate logo. How many fucking governments did he tell to go fuck themselves in order to build that?
That's a domain of the gods kind of thing. Most adults didn't know what he was doing when he took domino city for his tournament.
James Sullivan
I dont know if you're American but cities l around the US were clamoring to have Jeff Bezos put an Amaz9n HQ2 in their city. Like they were going to offer him all this free land and not make him pay billions in taxes and shit.
>still no vanilla Northwemko doujin That being said, this is one of my favourite doujins, considering that I have a ffm fetish and stuff. Plus vanilla is never wrong! >Ordered by Endymion Huh, that's actually curious. Anyway thanks!
Yes. He's going to lose to Revolver shilling his SD and then fall apart as Go predicted. He'll have to reincarnate again though, so not exactly for the whole season.
Hunter Gonzalez
That's gotta be like 20 episodes off though.
Ian Parker
There's no vanilla Northwemko. She's an effect monster.
Hudson Butler
It's not like he has anything else to do without Flame now and I doubt that ignis are going to be resurrected sooner than 20 episodes in.
Angel Miller
>There's no vanilla Northwemko. She's an effect monster. Not sure if serious but I laughed. Vanilla is a genre for hentai
