It looks bad in comparison to how he looks now.
While it looked good within the confines of the series it was from it does not look good when compared to other media of the type. As a matter of fact, toriyama's art style helped define and crystalize the artstyle of a lot of american artists and helped inspire young men to seek fitness and self-improvement.
