Season 1 of this was really good but Season 2 was a clusterfuck, it was all over the place. The ending itself was pretty good I think, but many of the things that happen before it were really dumb.

I agree Shirley was best girl. She got caught up in a bad situation (thanks Mao) and suffered for it. All she wanted to do was love Lelouch like a normal girl, truly the most tragic character. personally I have a hard time accepting the movies because the story is based on an alternate universe where fucking Shirley is still alive, among other differences. and when an AU's story is expanded upon it further invalidates the original story like it was never meant to be in the first place. haven't watched the movies and am very skeptical because of the AU.

yeah, they even had it that in the beginning that Shirley was actually casually dating Lelouch in the 1st Recap movie but never actually explained how that happened. Also, I don't get why they couldn't of kept the parts with Mao and her lost of her father but perhaps had it when Shirley got her memories back in the 2nd Recap they kept the part of Jeramiah warning her not to get herself involve so she would of survived.

I still feel we were cheated out since the just kept the Recaps to 3 movies, I mean the only thing I kind of liked it was the moments that included the other characters only seen in the manga spin-off like of Marrybelle and of Clovis's younger sister though we still don't know of her fate though.

also, when they said that they would of included new scenes, I was kind of hoping some montage of animated versions based on the picture dramas, like of possible scenes when the student council members were at the water resort after the announcement of the opening by Cornelia, or of possible scenes at Ashford for the crossdressers party or of the handmade dress party which would of had Lelouch escorting Kallen in her dress.

Jeremiah Gottowaldo turned out to be a pretty based character in the end.
