KFP is again on big trouble, they may have very well broken the law this time. The gist of the problem is that they promoted a special exchange program where you could get an exclusive disc if you bough all the volumes of the anime, but now the people has found on their copies of the first volume a paper saying that they must pay 1000 yen to get that special disc, but at no moment KFP informed about that fee before the paper, so they basically put a hidden fee and used misleading words like puruzento that people took as a gift, that is, something that you get completely free and you can only discover that fee if you bought one of the volumes, even though that information about the hidden fee should be present on the fine print on the website and promotional videos.
So the people is now reporting this misleading practice to the Japanese Consumer Agency.

The original Nexon game, as unpopular and medicare as it was, at least wasn't actively shitting over an established and beloved series. People who liked season 1 can probably like the Nexon game's story to an extent. Hardly anyone who liked season 1 can like season 2, though.

I mean shit, their only notable works are 2D children's cartoons so none of them have ever touched 3D animation. I think the original idea was that the game represented the present of the park, the manga represented the past during more ideal times, and the anime would've represented a far-flung bad-end future where the player and Mirai failed to save the park. So, with the loss of what was supposed to be the flagship, the mobage, all eyes turned to the anime, which became the present of the park instead of a possible what-could-be.

I'm almost certain that 3D was forced on them by the production committee. Nobody had a clue why people loved KF1 and considering how KF2 turned out at least some people involved with KF2 hated the original and wanted to shit on it.

And yeah, Kemurikusa is still alive and kicking on Japan, for example, on May 19th they celebrated the event Messa Kininaru 2 with a total of 38 spaces for circles, up from the 20 spaces from circles of Mesa Kininaru celebrated three and an half day after the release of the final episode at the end of March and on both events there was a lot of circles reporting about its doujinshi and merch being sold out.
On May 18th they sold tickets for the special event on July with the Kemurikusa staff and cast and the tickets were sold out on only three minutes and a lot of person were left out because the website was having problems for the heavy user load.
One funny one is that Tatsuki deleted the complete version of the old short on Nicovideo and the second half on YouTube on May 1st because "several reasons", but the people already know is because they have got on a fight with the creator of the ending song, so you know what happened?, people searched the Internet and found on Amazon a compilation DVD released on 2012 with the works of the 24th CG Anime Awards featuring the old Kemurikusa and bought it to the point that it topped the rankings together with Hentatsu, also a work by irodori.
So yeah, having in mind how consistently the works of irodori tops the ranking and that thing applies to Kemurikusa, then I do not see coming a decline on the sales, they may very well manage a total average for the three volumes at a very similar level than the sales of the first volume.

Besides at no moment this series was promoted as the second coming of Madoka or Evangelion or even Kemono Friends, it was only promoted as the new series by Tatsuki and Yaoyorozu and their objective was to give to their fans a series they could enjoy and seeing the overwhelmingly acclaim by the fans then that objective was fulfilled.
Besides, both Producer Fukuhara and Tatsuki were very happy when the first volume broke the 10000 sales mark, so it seems the series has already fulfilled its original sales forecast with flying colors.
Also, Tatsuki still seems himself as a niche director so he getting the third place only behind animes based on gacha games does not bother him, because he is only concerned on making happy his "customers", that is, his fanbase.
And yeah, this series is pretty heavy on the pre-orders side, especially true when it comes to the huge chaos that happened with the first volume, so it would be pretty normal that the people went on a hurry and pre-ordered all the three volumes when the first one went on sale if they did not previously, so you should look to the Oricon numbers and even still they would not be very helpful on the first week, because it seems they do not ship more than 5000 copies per week, so we could see Kemurikusa ranking again three straight weeks on Oricon if they have not changed how they handle the stock and the shipping.
Besides, name an anime director that has got two consecutive series with average sales per volume over 10000 on only two years, I doubt that is a very common occurrence, so that should be enough to show how strong, big, faithful and dedicated is his fanbase.

The admiration, dedication, and number of fans Yaoyorozu has gained, Tatsuki himself becoming a widely known name in the industry, and the sheer success of KF and KK given how small and tight a budget each show was allotted only shows and further proves that the size of budget and size of staff aren't necessary to create a successful, quality anime and that small studios can not only profit, but thrive and prosper in the modern state of the industry. One can only hope Yaoyorozu's continued success inspires newer studios to take greater chances and risks, creating more original anime as a result.
