You Motherfkers

What the hell did you make me read

One of the best series in Shounen Jump right now.

The story is questionable, and the ultraviolence is on the level of hilarious parody. The characters are all insane in one way or another. But there's something about the art and paneling that really draws me in. It feels like I'm reading a movie sometimes.

Read Fire Punch.

a masterpiece

How i don't regret it

What was she?

Fujimotofags are so pretentious with their edgy-shit.

>pretentious and edgy
Not even close. Fujimoto stuff is just campy. They're like halfway between Mizukamifags and Hayashidafags

>pretentious
You might actually be retarded.

FP was edgy as fuck sometimes.
>One of the best series in Shounen Jump right now.
>a masterpiece

Do people actually like this? Its fucking puke ffs

I suppose you could find it edgy if you take it absolutely seriously, but it's pretty much the opposite of pretentious no matter how I look at it.

Denji did

>FP was edgy as fuck sometimes.
Just loli rape and San killing plot threads nobody wanted to deal with. Everything else fit the mood fine.

>Dishonest Paneling
>Post-Isekai inversions
>Grating indefinite amateurish line-work
>Gatcha Game Iconography
>Proto-Slysoy Disenfranchisement peddled as NEET/ entertainment/Herbivore Powerplay
>Neo netouyo hangups: scene schizophrenia and meme dialogue
>Meta-Structure syndrome (refusing to build narrative structure is just as problematic as indulging in See: Firepunch/U19)
>Stoicism as social currency inverted through solipsistic ToC fetish

So you don't know what pretentious means

Sometimes fun things are just fun.

You keep forgetting Multifactored Hyperaccelespeed

I wouldn't call it pretentious but I definitely see a lot of people acting like silly Japanese humor shonen is especially new or profound even for WSJ.

The whole references to movies just didn’t do it for me. Also when the chick was about to be raped by a dog was eh

Fumetsu no Anata e came out like 3 months after Fire Punch and clearly blatantly stole a lot of the themes, anyone else think this or am I being too sensitive?

What does it mean for anime/manga?

You're smoking grass. There's litteraly nothing in common.

The first chapter takes a lot of imagery and the regenerative/immortal stuff that extends through a large time frame.
There aren't a lot of those types of manga and its weird for two to come out so close together.

fpbp

Nah. Strictly speaking FP is a post-apocalyptic with X-men in it and Fumetsu no Anata e is a isekaish world with a character that is trans-human learning about humanity. The only thing in common is that both manga are survival and in the beggining there was ice.

I dunno man i feel like Ooima Yoshitoki read Fire Punch and then tweaked enough stuff to make it seem like an original idea. Since Ooima Yoshitoki is terrible at writing....

>Since Ooima Yoshitoki is terrible at writing
Damn right. I couldn't get past mask boy arc. It's terrible paced for a weekly manga. Fujimoto can give cliffhangers almost every week.
