I think the author is pretty great. Gotouge has foreshadowed things in the manga that proves that she has a definitive plan for her story so there hasn't been a moment where I felt she wrote herself into a corner. She gives growth to all her characters, but never forgets that this is ultimately a revenge tale centered around Tanjirou and Nezuko. The villains are all pretty interesting, rather than falling into any neat boxes that usual shounen villains fall into. Overall I'm super impressed with what I've seen from her so far and confident in her to give us a great ending.

It is as honest and straightforward as could be. Reading it you have a feeling this is the story the author wants to tell, not something that panders to certain fags. It also has a really likable cast. I can't remember the last time I don't hate a single character on the good side. Even the supposedly edgy dude turns out to be really nice.
The manga also balances between dark and lighthearted moments really well. The world is brutal, but the characters are reasonably optimistic. I love that.
'The series is ending' is a meme at this point.

I'm not really a fan of the Viz translation and their choice of words for some of the terms like "Water Breathing" instead of "Breath of Water" and "Hashira" over "Pillars"

No, this is a legit translation issue. Leaving meaningful words untranslated is generally not a good idea. It becomes even more jarring when they mix and match Japanese and English in the same title, so we have stuff like Fire Hashira and Upper Kazuki Six. Imagine if we had Fire Kage, Thunder Kage in Naruto.
There are 2 possible reasons behind this strange choice of words:
1) They wan to be different from the fan translation
2) The translator hasn't read the whole manga so they don't have enough context to translate the titles confidently. They went with the safe option of leaving them untranslated instead.
Consider that Viz is in no rush to translate the chapters between the first 5 volumes and the current arc, the translator has no incentive to read them either. They translated Inosuke's 'Pig Assault' in 3 different ways was probably because they thought it was a one time thing, rather than his signature phrase. They also assumed Zenitsu was looking for the big bad Muzan but we readers knew there was nothing personal between them.

TL,DR: because of Viz business model, the translator hasn't read the whole manga, leading to inconsistencies questionable word choices.

I think Inosuke's mom was part of Douma's cult, I don't think she was a demon hunter because someone might have recognized him by now but she probably found out what Douma was and wanted to at least keep her child safe.
Douma also talked about pregnant women having more nutrients too so if I'm to guess she was gonna get eaten by Douma when he found out she was pregnant and she ran away from him.

He describes something about how part of mastering the dance is controlling your breathing to give you the strength to do the dance basically endlessly. tamayo has at least 100 years to figure that out while yuchirou was created by her so it's experiment gone right (after many failure). many demons go insane because of muzan blood so I think what tamayo had figured out is how to overcome that control.

Not really. You have more fun interactions between the characters, but the general tone remains the same as these early episodes. If anything the battles will become more intense over time.

It's about the same as now, the in-between stuff is still comedic, but the fights are serious.

It's the scene that made me realize they won't hold back on the heavy amount of Nezuko Ryona we're going to get.

It oozes quality so far. I'm a bit surprised with each episode again, just how damn good it looks, sounds and is directed/storyboarded in general. I wish certain other adaptions could have gotten as much love and effort. Houshin Engi, for instance.

The casual familiarity, Tanjirou having this sense of pride that starts him on a rant if someone dares shittalk Nezuko, him not grasping for a minute that someone would actually shittalk about her, her getting agitated when Tanjirou got manhandled, the handholding scene, etc. Top bond portrayal.

I was initially worried that Nezuko wouldn't get much screentime, but I hope she'll appear as often or even more. Adaptation and direction are showing their sibling bond very well.

Nezuko is pretty much the heroine of this series. She mostly stick with Tanjirou wherever he goes. If you like genuine family bonds then you will enjoy the anime since it's one of the main themes. There is a small scene between the siblings at this end of this fight that I really like. It also shows that Nezuko is aware of what's going on and capable of thinking on her own.

Muzan VA is soooo good
