It's mostly because of the competition. Liar Game is just more popular than it is good, and there are a lot more obscure psychological thrillers that do everything that Liar Game tries to do, but better. So while it's a solid 7/10 manga, it's well below average for this list.

Thriller Bark is great, Fishman Island is okay, Punk Hazard is good, and Dressrossa is amazing.
The ones you have to suffer through are the introductory arcs from chapter 1-68 and then the skypeia arc from 237-302. Everything else goes from decent to fantastic.

Nah, almost everyone dropped HxH at some point. It's an exhausting manga to read at times. Naruto, Dragon Ball, D.Gray Man and Detective Conan are all aimed at younger audiences, so dropping them makes sense. The Gamer is not beloved, and both Overlord and NGNL are LN adaptations.
You're just obviously more into adult-oriented manga, and care about quality more than genre.
