Reiner had the role of the MC for most of the Marley arc but Eren's still the one that's been the MC for 90% of the manga's duration and the one pretty much everyone thinks of when they talk about the MC of SnK. And I'm pretty sure it's not unheard of for shonen manga to have a character be gay for the MC. Doesn't mean it'll happen in this case but I don't think it's impossiburu.
