It could just be backlog sales during the 3 months between volumes or it could even take into account overseas releases. Backlog sales are also a large part of the reason why BC almost reached the top 10 last year and why it won't be as easy to make it this year as that user speculated, but I guess the anime reaching the elf arc and the manga concluding its first big saga might boost sales. Tokyo Ghoul ending may not even matter since Kimetsu is getting huge backlog sales due to the anime.

Does Oricon have a record of the total lifetime sales of manga volumes? I've only ever seen the weekly top 50 figures which wouldn't show backlog sales if they weren't high enough to rank. In this case for the series to get 1 million sales over 3 months means volume 20 sells roughly 200k total and then the other volumes sell an average of 800k/19 = 42k over the volume release gap which is roughly 3 months which means 42k/12 = 3500 sales per volume per week. It could be even lower than that if vol 19 got us up to 7.15 million sales and vol 20 to 8.00 which would require only like 2800 sales per volume per week.

It's not about that, anons are just trying to understand how we went from 7 million (volume 19) to 8 million (voluem 20) in the spam of a single volume becuase Oricon says that volume 20 sold 239,000 copies.

Yes, but the question is can you look up a certain volume and see how much it has sold overall or do you have to piece that together by looking at its weekly sales and summing it up? I find it hard to believe the volumes would be selling 4 or 5 times the amount that Oricon is reporting since that's a massive error for them to make, so I think the explanation can most likely be found elsewhere. I think backlog sales in increments too small to register on any top lists makes the most sense, since those would escape Oricon's notice but would still be seen by Jump.

The reason I assume the increase happened is because ep 63 came out around the time vol 19 came out so the 3 month period got the boost which shows in the overall sales.

I literally just did the math for you. 19 volumes * 3500 sales per week for each volume = 66.5k total sales per week for all volumes. Takes about 3 months for the next volume to come out which is 66.5k * 12 = 800k. Add to that 200k of either vol 19 or 20 sales depending on when the announcements happened and you've got 1 million sales.

A lot of the stuff surrounding the devils and 5-leaf grimoires feels off. I get the impression Tabata might have just winged some parts of it which created some inconsistencies. It's possible that they might be explained later on but some of them would require fairly convoluted explanations.

The 5th leaf is supposed to hold a devil in it according to the narrator, but Wevil didn't know anything about Amvil and didn't expect him to be there which contradicts that claim. Wevil's new grimoire doesn't appear to have a new devil in it either. It was also not just the narrator speaking because Ronne/Wevil said something similar in . If Devils are born when a 5-leaf is created then Wevil would know about it and expect a new devil to show up, but that was not the case. If devils are supposed to live in the 5-leafs then why are both Wevil and Amvil trying to obtain bodies for themselves instead of living in the grimoires? If they're neither born in nor live in the 5-leafs then why do both Wevil and the narrator make the connection between the two?

Why did Licht's grimoire seemingly remain a sword grimoire after it was turned into a 5-leaf when Patri's grimoire turned from a light grimoire into a sausage grimoire? Amvil claims anti-magic comes from him so if he was placed in the grimoire later on, what was the grimoire's type before that? How did some of Licht's swords end up scattered in different places while one remained in the grimoire?

the 5 leaf was already made in the flashback, and he hasn't mentioned whatever devil is in patri's grimoire. The devils in the 5-leafs cant interact with the outside world without a body, so it doesnt make much sense to have they mentioned if they arn't going to do anything.

The Undine user is going to be Noelle's big battle in Heart kingdom and might become her rival.

How did Licht cast a spell without a grimoire in this chapter?

There were very different scopes there.

FMA from very early on made it clear that it was solely about the fate of Amestris.
Black Clover, on the other hand, is ending it's first big saga with closure on the history and turmoil of Clover Kingdom while already having laid seeds of conflict or arcs with the other kingdoms.

Diamond is too far along to be the endgame, Heart is supposedly an ally though they'll likely have their own saga that involves some crazy shit.
Spade is the one that's separate from the rest and literally covered in fog and mystery. The only mention of them so far has been about a force of theirs being taken down by the Golden Dawn in their list of accomplishments.
Also, there's something north of Spade that was specifically cut off on the map. There's no way the endgame shit isn't gonna go down in Spade.

Given how the devils/demons are connected to "the other world" which is connected to the Shadow Palace, which in turn is connected to the Apostles of Sefirot, I kind of expect the devils to be associated with its evil counterpart the Qliphoth. As it happens, Astaroth, who was likely the basis for Asta's name as well as Liltih, likely the basis for sister Lily, happens to be associated with it as well, perhaps hinting at some kind of a connection. According to Wikipedia the names of the demons connected to the Qliphoth are:

The fact that the wind spirit was located in the disputed border lands between Clover and Diamond contradicts your assumption about the spirits originating from Clover.

Actually we don't know that for sure. The grimoires come from the earth but we don't know why the different kingdoms have different symbols on them. We know based on Fana and Mars that the covers of grimoires can be modified, so perhaps clover grimoires are the natural ones and the other kingdoms just change the covers a bit.

The spirits are not tied to the leaves of the clover. Sylph appeared in a dungeon between Clover and Diamond while Fana, who was from Diamond, had Salamander.

I wanted to ask you something. I recently got back into black clover becuase of boredom, I didn't have anything to do so I came back to give the show a chance again. Suprinsingly the second time it wasn't as tedious to watch as it was the first time. I can't quite understand why that happened though but it felt like a different show.
But let me ask you this. I understand that dropping the series after its first chapters is what most people would do but why didn't you do it? Did you believe that it would turn into something interesting later on or did you just simply keep on going with it just to kill some time?

The manga isn't as annoying as the anime (because shonen punchman anime is always shit, even HxH slowed the fuck down in CA and they're really respectful with that series for some reason) and I liked the premise so I gave it a shot

I actually read chapter 99 or something first because I happened to see it posted somewhere. I just kept reading it from there every now and then since it seemed interesting, started following it every week a little while later and then watched the anime when it came out for the earlier arcs. The first few arcs are kind of dull so I think this was actually a decent way to get into the series.

Am I the only one who likes the fast-paced fights of BC? I really like how in BC, when there's a fight, it's just that and nothing else. I remember getting frustrated with other series becuase of muh memories and muh talking in the middle of the fight.
I genuinely love how BC just lets a fight be a fight and no talking or other unimportant shit gets in the way. But I adore that that characters aren't slow either. But why are so many people so slow they literally can't understand what's going on? I didn't know seeing a character dodge magic beams was so difficult to keep up with.

If sword magic exist, is there also bow and arrow magic, shield magic, armor magic and fist magic? Imagine a 4-leaf armor grimoire being corrupted and then possessed by an anti-magic devil. A suit of armor that nullifies magic on contact, basically making the user invulnerable except for physical attacks which the armor would of course resist to some extent.

2. If the possession goes on for too long the human souls will die.
3. It takes time and effort to create artificial bodies.
The only way for most of the elves to survive is for a bunch of humans to die. Yuno's possession was incomplete, Licht, Vetto and Fana have new bodies and Rhya has been possessing his for so long that the host is likely already dead. So Licht and the former 3rd Eye will survive which interestingly matches the lineup of WNE except with a different Licht this time. I could see the surviving elves leaving the kingdom with the goal of trying to resurrect everyone else or to restore the tribe by pumping Fana full of babies.
