Really pure show. I love the first OP and ED a lot. I'll be sad when I get to the episodes where it changes.

>188558283
second OP is even better

If only you were here, Kircheis.

Something to look forward to then.

Been waiting for one of these. I've been on a 00s kick. Such a strange era. Not old enough for nostalgia but not new enough to be fresh in people's minds.

My boy Kintarou is such a treasure

I had forgotten how incredible this show is. It's 16-17 years old and it's barely aged visually. What's even more pathetic is that CG in modern shows is still at about the same level.

That's how I feel about the 2000s in general. Adult Swim and CN and the Ps2 and even commercials bring back a lot of memories.

I love Golden Boy. Shame the manga is no good. But I guess you only need 6 episodes huh?

Lets be hipsters and jump on the 00s nostalgia before it even happens. Not sure what generation would even be nostalgic for that era though. Streaming hadn't hit yet and other than AS if you were watching anime you may have been here.

Man I love bishounen, not in a gay way. They're not so common anymore are they? Especially not as MCs.

Everything about Gits is just amazing, whole concept and the philosophy

why not

Attached: kinos1.png (839x478, 430K)

I think there are still some modern bishounen around even if not widespread

Haibane was amazing and had really beautiful art

Attached: 01.jpg (1448x1052, 246K)

This show is disappointing. The OVA has everything going for it that 90s OVAs should, but there's just something missing. Maybe the lack of story and reliance on gags. The girls are cute but that's about all it has going for it.

How do I enjoy anime?

The manga and novel for this had a suprisingly really good story.

You develop an understanding of your own preferences and patiently search for things that fall into that category AND are also well made

Good luck

Brigadoon is still the greatest anime of all time.

I got into anime in the 2000s. These are the series I remember:

>Witch Hunter Robin
>Ergo Proxy
>Gankutsuou
>Last Exile
>Spice and Wolf
>Code Geass

I love golden boy so much
It's my absolute favorite anime

Attached: 1520038864862.jpg (640x480, 27K)

I should rewatch Gankutsuou, I remember not understanding anything that was happening as a teen, but it looked dope as shit.

>patiently search for things
That's a tough one for most people. "I WANT IT NOW JUST TELL ME THE BEST ONES YOU FUCKS"

Hello

Attached: IMG_20190514_081421.jpg (907x724, 105K)

The only reason to have a CRT is for old video games. Stop being a hipster.

It's weird how anime in CRT looks very nostalgic but also like fucking garbage at the same time.

It's good for hiding a lot of the flaws, which is a big deal when we're talking about the budget-challenged late 90s.

Probably helps if you've read the book.

Boogiepop Phantom is one of the most relaxing anime of all time. Is the new adaptation just as good?

Wait, Rayearth has mecha? Now I'll have to watch, god damn it

That he did.

As much as I loved it, I couldn't stop cracking jokes at it; there was just too much material to pass up.

>The only reason to have a CRT is for old video games

Why's that?

Where'd you get a clean ED to stitch it?
Does this have a BD now?

Vampire Princess Miyu

Attached: 06.jpg (3637x3689, 1.92M)

Oh shit there is, it looks good too.
Also two questions about stitching. Is there a way to fix it when you get a variation in color or brightness at the top and bottom of the screen so that when you stitch it you don't get those obvious horizontal lines? And if there's a scene where the background and character are scrolling at different speeds it's pretty much impossible to do it without the background being a mess right?

Attached: 09.jpg (3473x3465, 1.59M)

Attached: Integral LD BOX 2nd. Premium0069.jpg (2549x3454, 714K)

I believe it's something to do with latency in how older video game systems broadcast to HD TVs compared to CRTs. Certain games like Punch-Out are nearly unplayable on HD TVs because of input lag for example

First "adult" anime i've watched as a 12 year old lad, software president changed the way i looked at anime grills forever. Eyebrow grills are best grills.

The ova is great and I liked the t.v. show too even though some of the monsters of the week are really bad. It's so sad though, genuinely had a cry a couple times.

The only people really nostalgic for the 00s are the ones that didn't care about legality and torrented everything. You can tell if they're a casual or a newfag from what they remember from this era.

Attached: Vampire Princess Miyu TV - 17 The Moray Boat no audio part 2.webm (576x432, 2.89M)

What would you consider the quintessential 00s anime? Like an anime that could only have existed in the 00s encompassing most of the defining traits on that era, kind of like how Slayers is the quintessential 90s anime.

Nurse Witch Komugi is the most 2000s anime ever

Attached: 154.jpg (640x480, 343K)

You mean HD TVs can't even keep up with CRTs?

Shitty EVA-ripoff trainwrecks like RahXephon and Sousei no Aquarion

That first episode is also pretty much 2chan the anime.

Dual Parallel is the most shameless Eva ripoff I've ever seen. Some character archetypes, episode plot and even the overarching plot are beat for beat duplicates of Eva.

Attached: dual.jpg (300x424, 37K)

Literally me

Attached: shitpost.webm (640x480, 2.49M)

Sorry, I don't think it's physically possible to be more of a shameless EVA ripoff than RahXephon. I shall watch that shitty-lookinh show and verify for myself.

President of my heart

Boku no Marie is so comfy youtube.com/watch?v=GHt29zXAuvQ

Please Save My Earth deserved to conclude better in the ova but it's still one of my favourites

I love Botan

Attached: 1552468801899.png (1026x1070, 1.25M)

Didn't they change a lot of things from the book?

>anime you liked gets ruined 15 years later by a sequel
Fuck this shit.

Attached: 1527536342361.jpg (1380x730, 211K)

Dunno, I have fond memories of the animation and designs. And the music!
Only thing is I wish they did more with that amazing concept of ignoring the successful alien invasion.
Oh and the gay panic jokes got old fast.

Rahxephon is pretty good actually.
Nowhere as bold and controversial as eva but still watchable.
It is however a blatant ripoff but that still puts it head and shoulder above other anime.
The sound and monster design is great and that experimental jazz ost may be one of my favourites ever.

I think the other OPs and EDs are still pretty good. Only one I wasn't a huge fan of is the third ending, but "Honey" is a great ED, probably my favorite out of em all.

>You will never have legitimate discussion threads on a show like Habane because post-2016 normalfaggot zoomer Yea Forumsedditors will call it "pretentious"

This show was more CSI:Cyborgs than Do Android sDream of Electric Dildos?
And you know what, that was a good thing.

I hate Togashi for ending this on a sour, uninspired note to do something like Shotaqueer x Pedoclown

i know what you mean

Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun formed the Holy Trinity of Space Westerns and sadly we'll probably never get an era as eccentric ever again.

I found the standalone, heh, episodes that had nothing to do with the overarching plot more interesting.

Attached: 07. Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. [BD 720p Hi10P 5.1 AAC AC3][dual-audio][kuchikirukia]v4 [62874201].mkv (1280x720, 63K)

Gun X Sword is a decent Space Western. Not on par with those 3 though. Vampire Hunter D has some space western elements too. Actually do those count if they take place on earth? Maybe future western or western punk or something?

Attached: 93894ed4e2e357f7bde1f64712fff168.jpg (960x756, 129K)

That is one of the cutest goddamn shows ever. I just wanna hug Potemayo and Guchuko and poke their squishy little tummies.

Oh and remember this blatant attempt to recreate that Cowboy Bebop magic?
Animation quality was pretty great all things considered.

God damn that final showdown was kino AF.

I tried to watch this because I see people gushing over the final fight but I dropped it after 4 episodes

You mean after they defeat the final boss, and Kazuma and Ryuho decide to finally settle shit between themselves? That was a based fucking fight.

It could be serious when it wanted to be, but then had that idiotic 2000's chibi style at times.
