Is anime left-wing or right-wing by nature? Only asking because both sides try to claim the medium as being in support of each of their own different values.
On one hand, anime features tons of lgbtq representation: futa (transgenderism), yuri and yaoi, etc. and even often emasculates men into positions of submission to dominant women roles (a good example would be NieR Automata), and by doing so could be seen a form of female empowerment similarly prominent in Western mediums.
On the other hand, Japan's nationalism and xenophobia is used to argue anime in favor of right wing values. The tendancy to also degrade and objectify women is viewed as anti-progressive.
So, what the fuck even is anime? Social Justice Warriors proudly recognize anime as gay pride representation, while incels recognize anime as the last bastion of politically incorrect and anti-progressive entertainment.

People will deny it, but you are correct. If even a small subset of people are awakened to their homosexuality by watching two guys/girls have their scary 1st romance, then said series is enacting social change, whether the mangaka intended it or not. Authors don't put yuri/yaoi/traps/futa/etc. in anime/manga because of LGBTQWERTY agenda, they do it to appeal to fetishes.
