Naruto's universe was so effective because it was oppressive. It lead to tragedies like Haku, Sasuke, Neji, Madara, Pein, Gaara or fucked up shit like Orochimaru did which fueled the narrative. Without it there are no stakes. No drama. No sales

I stopped watching this anime about a year ago. What would have helped it is having an actual plot. It always felt like it could take off at any moment but it never did. Even if they just kept up with boruto's special eye it would have been way better.

Boruto is a clear cynical attempt by the editors and show runners to create a hip cool naruto 2.0.
Problem is that they have no idea what made naruto work, the world they created is trash, and boruto himself is an eternally unlikeable little waste of spunk.

Of course. You fast forward to the future, all of a sudden Konoha starts getting some shit from the Otsusuki. In fact, there's an entirely new clan of aliens which are helping them, and there's a fight straight away which wipes half of the Konoha population. Naruto and Sasuke try their best, but are outclassed and outmatched by these new aliens. Sasuke manages to send them away with his ultimnate Rinnegan, being a suicide mission and temporarily saves the day. Konoha is in shambles and there's little time to grief or recover. Boruto and the other up and coming shinobi are now tasked with the impossible: Jutsu doesn't work like it used to , as the enemy has power the likes of which has never been seen before. Only a few can develop new techniques to rival these powers. As a result, Boruto now has fights that are on a different level calling for higher budget and more epicness.

Well, they might not be Hokage the same way others were. Kakashi and Tsunade weren't interested but they became it. I'm still somewhat interested in the Naruto series. In that the people who were interested in becoming Hokage became it and solidified it. Whereas some of the best leaders in history didn't ask for leadership, but deserved it.

2 years. The writer and atist that draws the manga have never met and they only have 1 sentence conversations through a mediator every once in a while. Its a complete shit show.

I would prefer the manga be more about worldbuilding and SoL instead of beginning with a flashforward and a cliffhanger and wondering if Nardo really does die in the future at the hands of the kid that he rescued from some evil organization.

The Japanese barely have their shit together with writing. American and British writers are by far the best, but they demand a lot of money. Plus the ones demanding high funds right now aren't very good.

I'd write an arc where Sarada and Baruto consider the fate of their houses, why they're so lost in their ability to gain their bloodline limit. Why it's so hard to live up against people who stood against a literal god and won. Meanwhile I'm writing crap about well, a samurai and a knight meeting in middle china. Attempting to save a village against tyranny together.

Stop publishing the show on public audience television networks and change the target demographic from 12 to 22. Invest more in overworld meta, invest less on le cool action poses and cute anime grils. At this point naruto should be a science fiction fantasy series.
