So I read the chapter and it's super cute. Sometime last year (the chapter takes place a year after graduation) Yugami realizes Heiraku has a story he wrote based off of Yugami and Chihiro. So he starts inviting Chihiro with him to all his shows and buying her tickets. He always seems gloomy after they leave so Chihiro wonders what's wrong and we learn a few things about why he quit baseball and what his future plans are. Chihiro's friends all wonder why the hell Yugami keeps asking her out, wondering if they're basically just dating anyway (they totally are). Finally, Heiraku catches Chihiro in the audience and tells the tale Yugami wanted to show her in the first place. She's touched by this but starts getting sad realizing that with that there's no reason for them to meet any more, only to be surprised when Yugami gives her a ticket to next month's show.
They're final dialogue is

From past experience, the volume only has enough space for 6 extra pages of content, although with volume 16 being the last they could make an exception.
Either way, since it´s a bonus maybe they could show what happened to the supporting cast in more detail.

Takagi's anime seemed like a decent adaptation to me, but then again, I saw it before I read the manga.

I think the best way to do it is just cameo them in a later work as an actual married couple, maybe have their kid show up too. As far as I'm concerned the manga is over and it had a good, satisfying ending to boot. All I'd really want are a few glimpses back into their life.

Hell yes it would. The combination of Yugami's antics in a typical school setting and good ol' baseball is quite the enticing package. This, of course, assumes that the director and writers don't butcher the shit out of it, and the animation doesn't get shafted.
