I think it's still kinda early to tell, but I'd say it ranges from meh to good. Would still suggest reading the VN at any rate.

Let's put it this way, given how most adaptations are fucking terrible this one is kind of alright, but the original VN is still much better. I'm fine with watching it because it lets me refresh the plot without having to replay the lengthy original, but you should really check out the game.

The main things you need to know right now are that the main character got a device that allows him to explore parallel dimensions from his father, that the headmaster of the school is looking for this device, that the mysterious prostitute girl obviously knows more than she's letting on and reminds the main character of his deceased birth mother for some reason, and that the main character needs to find the missing jewels (it currently has 5/8) that go into the device he got from his father in order to use its true function.

About this one specifically: In any world that the main character reaches through the use of the device he got from his father, with the exception of what happens when he has all 8 jewels installed, he will be shunted back to the beginning of a 48 hour period starting from when he first woke up at the base of Triangle Mountain. This is because of the limitations of that device when it is incomplete on top of his existence (as in the version of him with the device and meta-knowledge) there being an unnatural one that gets undone by some phenomenon called Chaos Correction.

First of all lemme start by saying that the only translation available right now is for the Windows port of the PC-98 version, but there's an official one coming soon for the remake.

Sex scenes are toned down, but still kinda present. Remake tones them down even further. For example:

No, but they have weird fucking nonconsecutive chunks and each image gets a weird fucking lookup table to see which chunks it contains, but I must have fucked something up since it's including more chunks than it should.
As you can see, the entire image is there, there's just extra shit in the background for some reason.

The lookup table seems to contain some chunks multiple times for whatever reason, in a pattern that goes
0 1 2 1 3 2 4
5 6 7 5 8 6 9
10 11 12 10 13 11 14
etc.

I just sorta guessed at what which numbers should mean from looking at the binary data so I could be way off the mark, idk.
