Will we see all the Boogiepop novels made into anime with the success of OPM's S2 killer?

One of the worst adaptations I've ever seen, I really hope this gets a re-do at some point. There's so much potential for this if it's put in the right hands. I implore everyone to read the goddamn books.

I think they're genuinely good books. I don't see how the fact that the books are japanese has anything to do with it.

The show is aesthetically awful, and still rushes through the arcs even though it's not quite as fast after the first. More than anything you can really tell they didn't understand the source material at all.

i read them and didn't see much of a difference and i prefer the experience that the anime gave me. in fact this is one of my favorite anime for the extreme levels of comfy.

They brushed over Naoko's story arc entirely even though it's the crux of the narrative in the first novel. Boogiepop smiles even though he's explicitly stated to never do so. He's described as having a strange asymmetrical expression no one would ever make, not a smug smile. They skip over the part where Boogiepop actually smiles at the end of the 5th book. Witch is one of the best moments. The flowers in the imaginator arc are shown coming out of the girl's chests, where in the anime there just kinda there in some void, completely erasing the psychosexual element to flower. I could go on.

The books focuses on themes and evocative imagery that fuels those themes, it is NOT plot focused. This is where the anime fails. Yes, the same stuff that happens in the books happens in show for the most part. But it stumbles and fails at making any sort of point, and on top of that looks fucking awful. The CG flowers just look straight up silly compared the book's depiction. The building in the 5th book lost all detail, essentially becoming a big gray room. The character designs range from bad, to downright awful (Spooky E and the mom from book 5) All this and more is why I struggle to see why anyone even likes this show.

In the latest book (Vol 23, Boogiepop Almighty), he didn't appear.
But honestly, the timeline is so complicated that I no longer know what's what.

This is true, but the flowers that Jin sees are accurate in the illustrations when compared to how it's described in the book. My point was that the anime's version looks terrible.

Most of the anime designs fits character descriptions far better than LN illustrations, this should be known to "fans" at this point

Yeah, I agree with you with on first two points:
Naoko's part was important, because she's pretty much the whole reason everything was resolved. But we barely get her at all. Akio didn't even exist.
I wholeheartedly agree with the 'smile' point. That twisted expression Boogiepop always makes is the one he borrowed from the Scarecrow, so him being always smug in the anime kinda defeats the point. And that smile at the end of King of Distortion was a really strong moment too.

Jin's flowers were fine for me, though. I didn't see an issue there.
