Lord El Melloi II Case Files 10

Lighting fast update compared to the rest, holy shit.

We return to Waver and Luvia performing the father-and-son kamehameha to great success.

This scene was somewhat different in the novel, though the change is understandable, since the little spergout Waver has there makes no sense without Gray monologuing through all of it.

On the knife trick there going unexplained, if I remember correctly, as a fortuneteller he did something akin to creating a zone of good fortune where bad shit didn't happen. Basically playing around with RNG settings.

She was just messing with him anyways.

Is that certain? Maybe she just likes to see the fish squirm before she guts it.

I mean if you by by her monologue in the second volume refers to their relationship as "their love."

It's just the fucked up kind of love, with the kind of patience you only get from knowing you have a leash on him.

She's a legit sadist and enjoys watching him suffer.

Seems kinda OP

As most spellcrafting tends to be. Pretty sure it's note the kind of spell you can keep up for long though. In fact, I went to make make sure of it.

>"W-w-w-whoaaaa!"

>In the blink of an eye, Flue had drawn a knife. Throwing the knife in front of him, it floated in the air just as they had the day before. Unlike before, however, this time the astrologer drew a magic circle in the empty air in front of him. As Clown lept to the side to avoid the coming attack, Flue shouted at the top of his lungs.

>"Lead Me!!"

>The overwhelming light drowned out the world.

>The blast fired by Luvia and her gems was truly a kaleidoscope. Pouring down on Flue like a beautiful angel of death, the thunderous roar and ensuing dust cloud filled every inch of the room. When the cloud of smoke from the explosion finally cleared, the destroyed wall and floor showed clearly where the explosion had occured. Luvia looked down at the work she had wrought with unveiled satisfaction.

>"Splendidly done."

>In the corner of the blast zone, the middle-aged astrologer sat rolled up like a turtle retreating into its shell. Coughing violently, Flue raised his voice angrily.

>"...the hell is wrong with you. Were you actually trying to kill me?!"

>"My my. An astrologer that can't even predict his own death is worthless to me. Of course I was trying to kill you." Luvia's words felt as much like an attack as her previous spell had been.

>Just by watching, Luvia could tell he avoided the attack by creating a super-short term zone in which cause and effect no longer applied. In short, it was the same as the common showings of fortune tellers declaring 'directions of good luck.' Magecraft that actively utilized zones of good and bad luck like Feng Shui, or its child art Onmyoudou, were not all that uncommon, but one that was powerful enough to successfully deal with her previous attack was pretty rare.
