I don't watch anime from this decade.

Flip Flappers is the only anime that matters.

Wouldn't it be better to have a list of the last 10 years with the AOTY for each year?
2009 Bakemonogatari
2010 HotD
2011 Madoka
2012 TLR Darkness
2013 DxD NEW
2014 Chuuni Ren
2015 Prison School
2016 Keijo
2017 Aho Girl
2018 SAO Alicization

Pretty Cure
Conan

I'd criticize your taste but that's a pretty brave list user, here's a (You).

CHUUNI REN? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I am, the original was filled with boring melodrama and trying to stop the chuuni fun stuff that people actually expect from it was the stupidest plot development imaginable
The second season embraced the chuuni fun and turned it up, and the romcom stuff was fun as well

ive only seen 8 anime

2010 Katanagatari
2011 Madoka, God 2011 was a great year.
2012 Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita
2013 Non Non Biyori

10. Fate/zero

Haven't seen, but have high expectations for: Rakugo Shinjuu, Shirobako, Katanagatari, Tatami Galaxy.

Madoka doesn't hold up with multiple viewings, it's a 6/10 show, 7/10 at best.

I mean, if Yea Forums puts Tatami Galaxy, March, and Shirobako that high, they have better taste than Yea Forums.

I spent most of the decade watching the odd animated film or OVA that actually had a budget and wasn't just otaku market scamming Isekai or erstwhile edgy fanservice filled mediocrity so any list I made would probably just be composed of Film/OVA stuff and probably not even enough to make a top 10 list. Not that it matters cause I'm not going to add stuff that I consider mediocre just to fill out a list of ten items.

It's just been a bland as shit decade for this medium dominated by corporatization and streamlining of the TV production process and even to some extent animated film making process if you count all those ones that are clearly just TV series with a TV budget aired in a movie format that are only in that format cause they stand to make a bit more money on the disc market by never airing on TV or streaming.

It's also been the decade where the anime fandom just kind of really fell off in terms of ability to have a conversation with about stuff. Now it's kind of populated by a bunch of dumb shit heavy social media users that don't actually converse with each other so much as just post memes, and can't figure literally anything out for themselves. This recent generation don't actually seem to care about anime and just tend to watch whatever has the most meme potential or that e-celeb fuck sticks like that Gigguk guy tell them too which usually means bad fucking gutter trash shows they are proud to announce are trash and so are they.

It's just kind of sad, dumb and pathetic really. Like as bad as anime in the 2010's is I can still find something to watch every couple years but the collective fanbase is a lost cause as far as I'm concerned.

kill yourself

Again can't help but notice this is basically all movies. It's crazy to me how little people seem to actually watch anime movies when it comes down to it, probably cause they can't meme about them on twitter week to week or just go to Crunchyroll and watch them.

And no I'm not talking like otaku oriented movies or stuff based on an existing source material that people at least claim to watch or be interested in but like actual from scratch animated movies like what's generally listed here and that tend to actual do well among the mainstream in Japan.

are you guys faggots or girls? i will fuck ur pussy nigger

The absolute state of Yea Forums.

>I watch pretty, shallow garbage
All you needed to say.

You spend more time coming up with these pretentious ramblings probably daily than watching anything.

I only watch intelligent anime for intelligent people such as myself

Vile evergarbage jihadist in 3, 2, 1...

Worst post in the thread, congrats.

Violet Evergarden is a time flop. It sold well, but its fanbase is dead, and people don't even remember it anymore. It was generic, melodramatic, and boring. It was a corporate project (it was also shilled by its producers Kyoani and Lantis) that represented how you can play it safe to make sure your show sells.

There are shows (such as Evangelion, Madoka Magica, etc.) that can be considered timeless successes because not only were they successful, but they still have a sizable fanbase, and people still remember them as one of the masterpieces of anime. VEG has none of these things.

People reference the number of threads it gets (which only started picking up in number after I called them out on their shilling), but that doesn't mean it's not a time flop. It's a very small number of people coordinating to artificially create an impression that the show still has a fanbase after it finished airing. Just look at the Unique Posters to Posts ratio in every thread. It will be wildly unbalanced, especially in comparison to shows with an actual legacy (Evangelion, Madoka, etc) which have a far more balanced ratio while also having a greater volume of posts.

The bottom line is that VEG has no cultural legacy whatsoever, even in comparison to other Kyoani shows like Hibike and Tsurune, and is sustained entirely by dishonest fan support.

Care to explain why?

>barely any mention of houseki no kuni and/or mawaru penguindrum in this thread
Awful.

2017 was an amazing year

1. 3-gatsu no Lion
2. Mushishi 2nd season
3. Chihayafuru
4. Katanagatari
5. Tatami Galaxy
6. KlK
7. Shinsekai Yori
8. Mawaru Penguindrum
9. Uchuu Kyoudai
10. Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita

wrong, there's also Gatchaman Crowds

>2012 Sengoku Collection
Good taste ITT

Unironically Bocchi

Mine is far from AOTD, more like shows with the most impact on that year and the sheer number of shitposts revolving around these shows

2009: Macross Frontier (rankafags still on suicide watch the year after)
2010: K-On!!
2011: Madoka
2012: Sword Art Online
2013: Shingeki no Kyojin
2014: LoveLive
2015: Umaru (it was a very good year, we had Osomatsu, Jojo, OPM, Yowamushi, etc)
2016: Re:Zero
2017: Made in Abyss
2018: Goblin Slayer

such is the power of the Frogs

There's just nothing believable about anything posted on Yea Forums is there. In 2019 it's still just kind of shitposting with the pretense of watching and caring about anime as a vehicle only slower and slower in traffic with every passing season. It's literally what happens when nobody in a community actually gives a solitary fuck at large.

I fucking hate shaft.

My ecchibro

>jojo
>March comes in
>MONOGATARI

OP is eating literal semen

This is the opposite of true. Madoka is the kind of show that gets better with multiple rewatches. This is doubly true for Rebellion. I have a feeling you only actually watched it once, and all you got from it was shock value because the actual substance evaded you, and you just assume it would be bad on rewatch.
basically 2deep4u

>tiny veiled rec thread

>Me anime fan
>Me like Madoka

Attached: 134990898786.jpg (820x880, 92K)

I suppose I can give this a try, I doubt my choices will match most however:
2009- Aoi Bungaku or Shin mazinger
2010-Shiki
2011-Anohana or horou musuko
2012-Kokoro connect or shirokuma cafe
2013-Yahari
2014-Garo
2015-Yuri kuma arashi
2016-Fipflappers or sangatsu
2017-Tsuki ga kirei
2018-Devilman crybaby, banana fish, happt sugar life or kaze to tsuyoku
current year isn't over yet so I don't know what to pick.

The thing is I really really don't like Ryukishi, Nishin, Urobutchi, Re:zero, Erased or Made in abyss so common stuff that would make most lists aren't on mine.

Its hard too making these lists, because I really hate shounen power leveling stuff aswell.
