Yea Forums will win the Oscar next year

America can’t compete at all. Look at the crap they’re releasing this year.
>inb4 Toy Story 4
The story already leaked, and it sucks. Pixar is way past its prime.

Winning an Oscar is like a badge saying that you did a good job at appealing to people who like watching garbage. The award is worthless anymore and I question if it any had any artistic value in the first place.

>Yea Forums will win the Oscar next year
Did you forget about when Boss Baby got the award over A Silent Voice?

ASV was the worst anime movie out of the top 3 contenders in that year so it's no surprise.

>Implying playmobil won't win

whats bottom right on japan side?

>implying the judges even watch any of it
If they watch any is whatever they watched with their grandkids and is more likely american animation. Even then they vote with their wallets.

>playmobil
Fucking lego failed at this, what are they even gonna try?

i really hope kaijuu no kodomo is actually well written and doesnt just look nice

>people who like watching garbage
Not even that. The judges literally don't watch the animation nominees and just vote for the one that they took their kids to see.

>Winning an Oscar is like a badge saying that you did a good job at appealing to people who like watching garbage
But anime has never won an Oscar

>angry birds

OHNONONONO

To be fair, that one was warranted.

>that cg

Why do you keep making these threads about the Oscars?

You can read the manga, you know.

Spirited Away

>Oscar judges
>actually watching the nominees for Best Animated Feature
Good joke.

Spirited away only got it because Disney's name was attached

Kaguya was shit

>autistic Japanese trash about retarded high school drama
or
>movies that actually funny and I can relate to

>mfw this is a real

>american cartoon films in current year
>funny

>caring about the Oscars
Why?

>I can relate to
Hmmm, is that why americans have to dumb down everything with shit adaptations? so their mentally retarded people can relate to? this actually makes a lot of sense

>needing western reassurance that a project is good
Who gives a shit about the Oscars?

/thread

Anime movies appear to not be very interesting this year.

>The story already leaked, and it sucks.
That never stops any film from winning an Oscar.

I hope Children of the Sea is good. If done right it could be a masterpiece.

Who cares? Best Animated Feature is just a ghetto they stick all the animation in because the west views the medium as being purely for children. You'll never see animation in consideration for a "real" award. Do you really need some sort of external validation for you to be able to enjoy them? Normalfags are never going to perceive anime the way we do.

of course, it's common knowledge that this is the only advantage of live action over animation, the average redneck can relate to it.

The Secret Life of Pets was great, I'll definitely be seeing part 2 in theaters.

I can already picture all the rainbow colour haired "people" behind the films on the right.

>all this blue
Not happening.

t. redfag

give up, disney is obviously gonna win with that god awful remake of the lion king

Why are they making another Toy Story? It should have ended with 2.

US
>all merch advertisements
>even toddlers can understand it
>aesthetically undemanding, cheap and simplistic 3D kitsch

Japan
>innovating on traditional media
>stylized, beautiful yet immersive art
>complex and moral stories with real world relevance

>betting against Frozen 2

the oscars have been shit did you see last years? in what world does green book win

based, but i wouldn't call animation "traditional media". it's newer, objectively superior and the most advanced medium to date so it's more of a "future media" vs "outdated 3d"

why is there so much Oscar shit recently? Shills trying to make their irrelevant award relevant again?

At least there's Spiderman Into the Spiderverse.

Toy Story 4 could literally be a white guy saying nigger over and over again for 2 hours and it would still win because nobody gives a shit about animated movies but they know the name Pixar.

Thanks for my daily dose of cringe

Why doesn't "Anime" have its own separate category at this point?

That movie feels like a fluke, I couldn’t believe how good it was when I had to watch it.

At least Disney didn’t win “best animated film” like they always do.

I'm still mad.
