takei(shaman king) is also one but I dont have a progression chart.. his art has become more mechanical
Don't have a comparative pic, I like early Naruto art way more than the Shippuden once, it had more personality imo
fights have much less impact as Kishi's art style changes
Old Kubo was better.
He started drawing because he was inspired by Hirohiko Araki, and in time he managed to surpass his idol.
but clearly it looks like he had his own style even if he was inspired by araki.
I love these threads
also thread predictions
>someone would post Murata. well deserved that guys a legend
>the thread will flip at some point into "artistic degradation" and style regression
>there would be some trad vs digital talk
>soul vs soulless talk
>someone would post something really obscure
>some kid would post some awful shonen artist that stagnates for years and go full retard for anyone who points out there's no much improvement.
>someone will post toriyama, people will ask what happened. he's retired, that's all that happened
>someone will post something from a manga that had an anime this or last year.
Miura evolution of Guts across the years.
This is from 4 years ago though, so it's missing the last 10-ish chapters of Berserk.
Just post some progression you like.
And learn to ignore shit you don't.
>inb4 soul/soulless fags show up
He's not copying, no, but Kaz said he fell in love with Araki's work, and wanted to emulate it. Even though it's all-Kaz, Araki's influence should be recognized, even if Araki's gone full-homo in his old age.
I hate seeing this pic becaue it always makes me realize how rough its been for him.
where my pogeymanz at
The picture of Vol. 24 Guts looking behind reminds me of Nero from DMC 5
the thread started good, why are you fags trying to derail it?
Isayama has progressed quite a bit, though I think it had something to do with not having editors in the past and doing it all by himself.
I love these threads, seeing how much some authors improve is fascinating
Paru's improvement was extremely sharp and fast from what i remember.
The manga lost some uniqueness of its early panelling though.
And most recently.
Ain't complaining
That's why I said I love these threads.
Couldn't skip out on making myself a bingo though.
this guy is the father of her
That's some beautiful progression.
man early belldandy was ugly
second belldandy and on where gud
Being honest, I don't like the third evolution. Everything became weird and fat.
>but fairy tail and hiro mashima is shit
Yeah, but his art changed a lot over the years, so it is worth to quote.
second panel seems the best.
Early Naruto had so much weight and solidness to the movement, fuck
You can say that again.
is this series worth picking up? ive seen a few threads here about it.
>Characters look absolutely the same.
>Only difference is the background made by assistance
Yeah im glad he is hiring competent assistance, Togashits drawings still look awful and blank
Be quiet, pet.
Araki is one of the few artists I've seen improve over long periods of time instead of just plateauing.
>comparison shot
>two completely different expressions
Sigh
>art gets better
>then it gets worse
I think I prefer the way her earlier art looked. It was rougher and felt like it reflected the more feral and animalistic themes of the manga.
In the most recent chapters outside elf land, and inside casca's dream it's gotten back to normal
>entirely different facial and head shapes
>i-it's expressions
It also had way more charm
It doesn't make for a good comparison regardless my guy
The fuck are you talking about, right is still soulless digital shit.
Those Manben videos by Urasawa show lots of art progression of various Manga artists. I was surprised to see what Ryoichi Ikegami's pre Spider-Man art looked like, especially compared to his modern hyper realism stuff.
>Released July 2010
>ZUN and Azmaya somehow kept this going for 10 years
Really not what I expect from him.
Yeah it is. It is a bit of a wild ride and best read with minimal spoilers
It is worth?
Ice Hockey Club Volume 2 and SZS Chapter 295.
Man, i wonder what naruto would have been like if it was wizards instead of ninjas as originally planned.
Based
Cringe
>went from having his own artstyle to just copying One Piece
It's a real shame
>chapter 4
jesus christ, 73 is still shit but that's horrendous. i knew kids in 6th grade that could draw better.
Tosh has been pretty consistent.
Again fucking doodles in a pice of art. It's like he scribbles a few lines and try to let them look humanoid, throws them at the face of the assistant and says "Put that into the panel you made for hours I go play dragon quest"
wow if only kishi knew how bad it would get. early shit has so much promise
i must have pure garbage taste because i enjoy both parts artistically
wow this series has no consistency
You were commanded to be quiet. Don't make your master repeat himself, pet.
Just note that these limited comparisons are misrepresentative when it comes to HxH. Togashi intentionally doesn't keep character models consistent from page to page and shifts faces in a wide variety of ways depending on the goals of the panel. For example pic related from the most recent Hisoka chapters look closest to the 3rd Hunter Exam example in your pic and nothing like the latest example.
stupid sexy no clown makeup hisoka
is vol 13 peak androgynous kurapika
wow 2nd and 3rd to last has so much more character than last
Depends on how much you can deal with the fact that it's never going to be finished and get out of hiatus.
It's one of the very best selling SJ manga for many reasons, but it's hard to deal with the fact that Hagi is never going to end it.
Also, it's pretty much the manga that inspired all the comedy battle shonen like Gintama, so if you like some fantasy/ecchi DBZ mixed with Rance and the author taking the piss of pop culture of the time including other mangaka, it's very well worth a read.
And Dark Schneider is such a massive chad it might spoil your taste about 99% of MCs around, bear in mind this is a series that has official porn sidebooks made by the author, which are also absolutely canon.
God Erina is a godness.
wans't there talk of it turning into a LN?
Pic related is. From the volume 1 extras.
Cope
Second has the one piece vibe.
Third is Mashima going full fanservice and it's shows on all of his characters even males.
Togashi is a hack, got it
I know its kind of a meme term, but I think that late Naruto art looks kinda soulless
Yeah, but outside of the Gara LN that came out four years ago or so, nothing else came out of it so far.
Hagi's also being busy working for mobage, games and anime so that might be the reason.
Yet another thread is ruined by huntards.
Fucking hell i hope they dissapear
Kneel at mine illustrious feet, pet. Your master has no more time for your jejune and contumacious antics. KNEEL.
Quite the opposite, his grasp on expressionism and stylistic range is at the absolute height of the medium. Togashi’s range in style really allows him to shift tone and transition between genres more seamlessly than any other mangaka.
oof
This. Togashi is a master of fundamentals, paneling and creating memorable page composition. The man is a genius who can set up his scenes from interesting pov angles that are able to put in contrast what each scene is exactly trying to portray.
weird how much I like the show and can't find anything to complain about even if I stopped watching when the dragon showed up. I guess hearing non-canon is a big turn off
Ishida's heavily improved his art throughout the series. Too bad the writing went to shit because he was burnt out and couldn't handle the weekly schedule.
Just ignore and stop giving them attention
What a bunch of crap
Non-canon? Right's from Volume 16 released last year. It's Rui's work.
>because he was burnt out and couldn't handle the weekly schedule.
no sympathy from me, unless he got burnt out AFTER starting part 2 then I guess its ok but if he was burnt at the end of part 1 he should have take a break.
I dont read LNs im talking about the anime I am in the part when the dragon with a bow appears
Cringe
Togashi is a Master at utilizing paneling, composition, page-flip and varying art styles for pacing, emphasis, and tone-shifts. His art style is extremely subtle and flows well into his top tier paneling and composition.
First 3 rows wouldnt even be accepted in /beg/
Great stuff after that though, gives me hope
Did your superior master ask for your input, PET?
>It's crap
>Cringe
Is this as deep as brainlet arguments go?
it's pretty obvious from reading that he started getting burnt out around the second half of :re
Beautiful page. Palm’s positioning here and the way her cheeks are drawn remind me of Da Vinci’s sketches.
he could have put it on hiatus at the time ishida was riding the gravy train so im pretty sure he had that pull to at least take a month break
>no sympathy from me, unless he got burnt out AFTER starting part 2 then I guess its ok but if he was burnt at the end of part 1 he should have take a break.
Regarding taking breaks, this is what he wrote in his afterword
>I felt that if I took a break I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to draw again, so I refused to give myself a break.
Honestly, if he stopped working on so much other shit alongside TG's serialization, who knows how much better the writing could've been. Now it remains a wasted potential and I can only hope he goes with more preparation into his next work.
Seething
This thread went to shit fast
she cute
who's to blame for this?
Because people still, after all this time, reply to the hunterfags.
he honestly should have done those extras after except the omakes since they actually built character but those extra drawings and calendars should have waited. blame his editor and peers no one told him to pace himself.
Someone should make one for Kaguya-sama
If there is one thing I dislike about Araki's modern style is that many characters have the same face. Aside from that, I love it.
Which Gokek is your favorite?
How can Togashi draw 900,000 faces when most mangaka can only draw a few at most?
89
round eyes > sharp eyes
It's easy to draw many different faces when you don't even try having your characters remain in model in the same page.
Tits version, just made.
>cherrypicking
pathetic
Man, if it only were those two things. That fucker also wrote/drew a hunded pages long storyboard for root a, and also did tons of illustrations specifically for the ED song. Then he started working on that psp game, where he drew a 550 pages long scenario book all by himself together with new illustrations. Further, he also drew tons of illustrations for zakki 2 (art book) and now a short while ago, we've been told that he has also been working on the new switch game for the past 3 years. All the while working on :RE. He can only blame himself for not prioritizing his main work, it's a shame really.
Togashi is a true Master.
>posting Axed manga
Why is the coloured stuff such trash? Everything up to and including '95 looks good.
I am pretty sure that it is either someone talking to himself or two hunterfags with one falseflaging
> source: my ass
>Post artists who have significantly changed their art style over time
stop being a cancerous faggot and contribute to the thread retard
Why would he dumb down his art to appease brainlets like you who have read less than 5 manga?
The current HxH thread has 100 IPs. HxH has one of the biggest fandoms here.
Kubo could be picasso-tier (which he obviously never will be), but I still wouldn't take him seriously, just because of the fact his series got axed.
Wonderful page. Togashi is incredible at conveying tone with his artstyle even when completely freehanding.
kek at that pitou face
...
Imagine getting axed and replaced by MHA. He's gone bald now and makes his living drawing one shots for gatcha games.
Imagine being in permanent hiatus and being replaced by chainsaw man
Imagine making the same desperate shitposts about chinese cartoons every day
Bleachfags SEETHING
HxH sells 1.000.000 per volume, Chainsaw sells 20-30k.
why is one piece so popular? i don't get it. it seems like an absolute shitfest of nonsense and le random chaos.
can some please explain to me, in small words, the allure of one piece?
You can sell if you dont release volumes
Correct, Bleach got the axe so it will NEVER release another volume again.
>120000000
It doesnt need to.
Oh also
>source: my ass
>HxH
75 million copies/36 volumes that's 2.05 million copies per volume on average
>Bleach
120 million copies/74 volumes that's 1.62 million copies per volume on average
COPE with the state of your axed irrelevant manga.
i fucking hate hxh falseflaggers and newfags replying to them, you derail every single thread
it's just one guy responding to himself
>not a new IP
Seething Bleachturd can't cope with facts and numbers.
It's one of the biggest mysteries in manga history. It just sells in Japan, though. Outside of Japan, it only has 70M total sales.
>3 years head start and 2 adaptations
>not even 100M sales
Pathetic
How the fuck do you even counter this argument? You hunterchads have no mercy. Damn.
With every new volume HxH average goes down.
>you can post ONLY ONCE per thread
OBSESSED
>How the fuck do you even counter this argument?
Say ONE PIECE and "Hunterchads" starts to cope.
I´ll give you a better one
>slam dunk
False:
HxH 28 sold 1,011,766 in 2011
HxH 29 sold 1,043,782 in 2011
HxH 30 sold 1,090,309 in 2012
HxH 31 sold 1,193,383 in 2013
HxH 32 sold 1,186,245 in 2013
HxH 33 sold 1,272,692 in 2016
HxH 34 sold 1,258,337 in 2017
HxH 35 sold 1.090.958 in 2018
>HxH 28 sold 1,011,766 in 2011
This was the build up phase, just like:
>HxH 35 sold 1.090.958 in 2018
Is aslo the build up phase.
You're not serious are you? The left actually looks better because there's overall harmony. The right has so much jarring between the characters and the background it breaks reader immersion on first glance.
This is frustrating to see because all that meticulous labour invested into background ended up deducting marks from the final product. That effort could've been saved for something else.
Slam Dunk is irrelevant and forgotten, tho
I really liked the 3rd uniform era, it was a mix of early goth vibe with appropriate anatomy, without the "stiffness" of the beginning.
But now, everyone is just a shining example of ikemen and pandering towards the main public of this manga: fujoshis.
It's really sad.
>HxH 34 sold 1,258,337 in 2017
>HxH 35 sold 1.090.958 in 2018
Oh no no no no no
>coping
>that's 2.05 million copies per volume on average
>sells around 1m
It goes down just accept it
>this thread
We can't stop winning, bros.
>fogotten
Not in nipland when it had it reprint it scored in top 5 of the month
>cool art thread digresses into a sales war
i love nu-Yea Forums
The trend is that build up volumes sell 1M and climax volumes (34 was Hisoka vs Chrollo) sell 1.2M. The average is always 1M. 200k drop is nothing compared to One Piece that has lost 2M, MHA that has lost 300K and HQ that has lost 500k
>subhuman brainlet doesnt know how average per volume is calculated
>consistent 1M per volume without an anime airing, with the manga on hiatus most of the year and without any artificial hype
Is it even possible to be more CHAD than this? Holy fucking based
Is that from DeviantArt?
God I hope so.
Yes, be Takehiko Inoue
I'm sure this will eventually be updated once the hiatus' stop
last proper adventure series left it has no competition and fills a large need
left is better, i wish i was joking
That's actually more praise for Isayama because there's flow and clarity in his scenes even when his penmanship remains lacking.
Contrast that with trying to read Alex Ross's panels, for example
>>Every female character became hippy with thicc thighs
Mashima is a gentleman whose taste became more sophisticated, like fine wine.
It's like how you can recognize Shinpachi just by seeing his glasses. You don't even need the rest of the body.
I can understand if you do. Kishimoto's panel and line work began to shift their focus in later Naruto - he began to construct more crisp lines depicting complicated jutsus. You may approve of this if you enjoy artists like Oh Great, since that's what he does. I find it detrimental because the character poses lost their quirkiness and actions less dynamic.
I wish I can personally tell him how much I miss his old line art style
One Piece is a genre manga/anime. I already addressed these points before but I didn't save my posts to prevent copypasting. I don't feel like writing paragraphs again so I'm gonna keep this short.
One Piece complexity is not on the level of plot like in HxH, it's on the level of worldbuilding/lore, visible if you analyse the whole manga in the macro scale. In terms of plot it's a simple genre manga. The best analogy for it is LOTR where the fellowship travels kingdom to kingdom, explores local issues and politics experiences some personal drama, has some adventure and moves on. There are two appeals to both works, the "action" which is what happens here and now and the "exploration" which is witnessing the past and the world as it is. The latter appeal comes from exploring the well crafted world full of metaphors and parallels to the real one which gives the story depth and wisdom. But just like LOTR you have to find the symbols (which can be various degrees of hidden) and metaphors before you can even begin the analysis.
going by the stuff posted in this thread, which artist has improved the most?
>looks exactly the same
god you're a faggot.
Looks like his style got a bit simpler to be able to push out more panels.
black clover but worse
I'm not even a huntard but is that seriously the best you've got?
God Kumeta just keeps getting better and better too. His compositions and designs are so good.
t. huntard
88 is best dubs confirm. 89 is also great.
That 4th one looks like that Junji Ito chapter
2005 is probably my favorite Kubo era
I really like how some artists progress over time and others keep their style consistent.
It's like the modern art of anime.
Weak bait
500 hours in ms paint
can this even be called drawing
someone post a nihei comparison
I like how "weighty" this feels
Is this real?
>early part 4 vs late part 4
what the actual fuck happened
Like that is possible.
Even huntards wont defend this.
>being this blind
>le reddit-tier strawman
Isayama
no but black clover copied the best parts of naruto and skipped the bullshit so it'd be better on account of coming after
Cope harder huntard.
OGUREITO
I just want to say that Togashi got worse, this looks better than anything in HxH
Lol, even huntards are better than you.
Araki started doing his own thing rather than stick to the Fist of the North Star look.
I hate how much of a mess D.gray-man has become, doesn't help basically every chapter released the last few years has a different art style
I'd post Murata but I don't know what images to use for comparison
They look the exact same
t. huntard
Ubizo years ago
I didn't realize this was initially a one shot
Ubizo now. I wish someone made chart how his art progressed during his manga.
can't improve on perfection
>evolution of anime max stirner
the resemblance is uncanny and I can never get over how similar they look.
> not being a fan of HxH
wew lad.
t. untermensch
makes me proud considering hxh fans are responsible for threads like this
>hunterfags screeching about themselves again
is it a fucking requirement to be a prissy 15 year old self-obsessed teenager to like the fucking series or something? why are you people so fucking sensitive.
I like how murata is able to capture saitama as a character so well. people dont give him enough credit for really nailing his cartoonish look while also making him fit with the rest of the redesigned cast.
>MHA that has lost 300K
That is false. MHA is still in its peak sales
Mine too
> links to a blatant bait thread
> the bait thread worked exactly as intended
> thinks that the posters are HxH fans
I know that it embarrasses you to admit it but this is what characterizes your fanbase. Just take a look around and you'll clearly see that hxh is a shit stain on the fabric of Yea Forums.
Status: REMINDED
stay mad
More like the evolution of Gut's chin
father daughter duo?
i recognize all of one piece's faces besides 12 and 27
Did Illumi start balding or did he just start wearing his hair different after Yorkshin?
based and non-spooked
'94 thick neck goku
to be honest, murata hasn't improved at all since starting opm, it's just kind of stagnating even though the skill is still really high
no each year they are a little w i d e r
>the fucking oneshot looked better
what a downgrade, character design wise
How about a Eyeshield21 comparison
is Hunter x Hunter the OK KO of manga?
it's a good read
I thought it was gonna be like zootopia, then I realized fire punch is a more adequate comparison
Katsura is such a mad lad.
the latest chapters of eyeshield are some of his best work characterwise. he's improved technically a lot since then but his character designs/features have suffered (though mostly that's one's fault, goofy designs dont always mix well with murata's realistic art)
nigger you're crazy
early saitama is so weird
I dropped Bastard pretty early on because of how dumb it was, holy shit
how can you improve when you reached the sky's ceiling?
YYH > HxH
This is undeniable
>And Dark Schneider is such a massive chad it might spoil your taste about 99% of MCs around
he's literally Inuyasha written by a man
Vol 14 Guts the best
You do what Inoue did and learn to paint. It happened with a couple western comic book artists too, Bill Sienkiewicz for example.
Murata know how to paint though. Both Vol 4 and 16 are painted
I actually like the early art just as much. It has such a quaint, sketchy feel to it.
How does someone become as much of an art chad as Murata?
Right is way more aesthetic
>1999
>it's 20 years old and we've had like fucking maybe 4 arcs since then
No fucking respect for God himself in this thread, putrid.
Be born kino
>he thinks Berserk is only 20 years old
user it started in 1989...
wait why is this guy on the cover of 16? did they really run out of characters to put on volume covers at only 16?
He was in Vol 16
Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.
It's very worth it, I'm really glad I found out about it.
I second the other user's recommendation, don't read spoilers.
I only started reading One Piece in the last couple months and I'm finally current.
I enjoyed it; overall, it's consistently decent (not amazing) but a lot of its arcs are really well put together and have a few transcendent high points that make them stick in readers' minds
>le random chaos
Have you literally NEVER read a single chapter of it?
HxH fans are so delusional that if shit hit their face they probably think it's chocolate.
The comedy and nakama feeling used to be nice.
Also the freaky fruit abilities utilised in different ways.
Please stop discussing HxH, it's completely irrelevant.
Gakkou Gurashi is an actually good example of improvement.
Griffith has gone from very attractive beautiful man to looking like a man who wants to look like a woman and for it he has gone through some facial aesthetic operations, like silicone on the lips
How so?
Well he did get reborn.
>Silicone
Not only Griffith, everyone is with sex doll lips with the recent style.
Maybe he's gone senile or he just don't care anymore.
Or maybe he's drawing what appeals to him because it's his manga and he can get away with it now that he's old and rich (?).
At least it was some fun fetish stuff, like the rape horse.
Now, if it's a fetish, it's just way too shitty with his style.
She didn't seem that keen on drawing the characters in a non-chibi way though. I also think she made the character's faces primarily look less uncanny, too.
how does "it's crap" say any less than
and ?
all that's being said is "togashi good". there are no examples or specifics to be found
The hair is too curly now too. It looked better before
Very early FT was very reminiscent of OP. Very late FT is something else entirely.
No, that is not true.
Femanon spotted.
It's a swashbuckling adventure of misfits who kick reason to the curb, subvert authorities, and accomplish extraordinary acts of heroism through extraordinary displays of comaraderie. It's "How to Sell Stories to Young Boys: 101". It helps that Oda really is pretty good at what he does.
Togashi is just a little too smart for you, user. That's okay, you'll get there eventually. Start with the Greeks.
He isn't you retard. Same surname.
At this point you can't tell the difference between fans and shitposters.
I'm surprised no one posted Captain Tsubasa
The earlier art in all of these looks better..
>handsome Griffith at the ball never again
>Huntard selfinserts as meruem and gives cringy "pet be quiet" orders
>CaNt YoU tHiNk Of SoMeThInG bEtTeR??
Some of these early arts had huge heart on them. Why artists have the need to change it? just improve the pacing or structure
(you)
Hve to hand it to Takahashi, even if you're not into his card game. The guy can draw and his colouring is great.
Toriko, Chapter 1 vs Chapter 396
Fuck realism, I actually like the style of the top
Until the ship to Japan arc (with the introduction of the Akuma level 3), I held this manga as the best. Oh boy, how wrong was I then....
Yea, its like he changed the artstyle as the MC became a more open friendly guy, but then it bled out over all the chars even though its still an overly pretty dark and messed up world. The old art fit more. It just looks less detailed and too clean now.
He genuinely looks like he turns into a black man
Same.
Why do all of them have the same face?
Soul Eater looked weird in the first chapters
What is he doing?
not him but 99% of all mangaka have a sameface syndrome
whats up with dark continent were they all turned into kids or somthing
Feels good to be part of the 1%
Fate/stay night 西脇 だっと
>99% of all mangaka have a sameface syndrome
and Isayama's not one of them
reminder that Dobson is triggered by ONE.
Tell me the lore
They all have the same face and they aren't expressive. All of their faces look cartoonish. Isayama is an amateur when it comes to drawing, that's the main reason why he got rejected by Jump
Lol what. Basically all Jamp mangakas have a sameface problem. Isayama's art is shitty but not a sameface.
Asano Inio Art Progression
Humanity received an unpleasant update..
Everyone in the bottom left panel has sameface tho
Araki’s actually curbed the homo shit in Part 8, there’s surprisingly a ton of hetero stuff for once. He drew tits for once too.
face blindness is linked with autism you know
There was no need to tell me. I knew you were autistic the moment you started posting SnK.
lol I think you are overthinking it.
Oda knows its audience and draws the biggest tits on any shounen.
Don't even compare OP to LotR please
His attitude helps with that. Apparently as he got close to the end of Stone Ocean he felt like his writing and art were at their peak and like he couldn’t possibly improve any more, and he felt completely satisfied with one of his mangas for once. He was terrified of the thought that he’d hit his peak and that it actually felt ok, because there was still so much he wanted to draw and if he can’t get better it’s not as enjoyable anymore. So he had the idea to ‘go back to the beginning’ and decided Part 7 would be a reboot (because he felt Stone Ocean was a perfect ending but still wanted to draw more JoJo) and he’d shift to a monthly seinen magazine since he’d peaked with the weekly shonen format. Double size pages, four times as much time to produce a chapter, no limit on how long it had to be and going back to basics and trying to do everything again but better let him break past what he considered his peak and keep climbing higher, which he’s still doing to this day.
That fagget is getting better and better hhhnnnngg
early VA and late SBR are king
Akira Hiramoto 1
Akira Hiramoto 2. Clearly he sold his soul to the devil to allow this to happen.
>he's literally Inuyasha written by a man
You don't know what you're talking about.
She looks like she has down syndome in the early style.
Oh ye of little taste.
he became who he loved
So more Me and the Devil Blues when you stupid hack?
I mean, you can avoid sameface if you avoid consistency altogether I guess
This thread makes me feel like I should start drawing, but I'm 26. Is there even any point in starting anymore?
inb4 Casca is Donovan's daughter
what's the point? how many artists can make a living off of it by your estimates?
even if you get good you won't earn as much as someone who spent that time learning a trade
in a review I can't find on his twitter, his website, or archived footage dobson claimed he watched five episodes of one punch man and stopped watching because he claimed it was too violent, he was probably upset that mosquito girl died. He then kept trying to goad people into responding negatively so he could claim to have been harassed over not liking it, and then to the twitter of one of the women he orbits around who said they were watching one punch and warned her that it was violent and that he was harassed over not liking it. this concluded by dob comparing himself to one.
I'm not looking to make money off of it, I have a job that I went to school for. I just want to be able to make my own porn
>drawing as a hobby
literally never gonna make it unless your livelihood depends on it
go browse deviantart to see others who wanted to draw their own porn and understand that it's always cheaper to pay an actual artist instead
My mom and dad are really good at it though, can't I just inherit their skills?
This is my current level btw
>can't I just inherit their skills?
this isn't pokemon, of course you can't
I'm 29 and just finished drawing a moth lady. I enjoy it. Wish I had a way to uplaod online though, to get tips on the **** I struggle with. Give it a go, why not.
Rather than think ''why start'' think ''why not'', you ain't getting younger.
the real progression here is seeing Hamada's looney setups get more and more complicated for the sake of proper working posture
>I don't want to end up like Togashi.png
Complete lack of focus on the bottom image, the fuck do you need white outlines on generic trees for?
>murata
Yikes
>drawing a moth lady
Nice taste.
Wasn't the MC magically castrated so he would not hit that?
What's the point of that raised chair?
A god amongst men
>mah soooul
Kys brainlet
>start with the Greeks
ask me how i know you've not done as much, nor read any philosophy in your miserable, shounen-loving life
>Leorio's first design was literally just Max Stirner
kek, based Togashi
Oh my god you're retarded
soul eater manga has one of the most drastic changes in art style I've ever seen
The potential for memes is great enough to be worth it
A classic.
Kokou no Hito is one of my all time favorites. In no small part thanks to the artwork.
Kawada
Ch 228 on the left vs ch 43 on the right.
Source or gtfo
which version of OPM should I read
Read Murata's version until you're caught up, then the webcomic to move on.
none of them because the wait for new chapters is unbearable
who is she?
bottom one hurts my eyes. and the guiding lines in the background are gone.
Yeah, he could actually make more chapters.
Togashi's art style consistently changes between volumes. Kurapika looked like this in the same volume if I recall
Main girl from Hanebado named Ayano. Badminton manga, got an anime.
youtu.be
>this is from 4 years ago though, so it's missing the last 10-ish chapters of Berserk
When you put it like that, holy shit Berserk readers have gotten cucked so hard
12 is Viola and I'm not sure about 27, but I think it may be Kaya.
>can't I just inherit their skills?
You can't inherit anything
No one is born with talent
Only hard work exist
user...
kubo draws such fucking handsome dudes
When did he draw the right one? I hadn't seen it before.
Exactly.
unironically better before
Why does the look of jojo protagonists get progressively gayer
Because Araki's artsyle improved with time.
>no argument
dumb herokek
Araki thought Kenshiro was no longer cool.
The characters actually got manlier as time went on
I like that they actually like ugly stupid kids.
There's never been anything like it and there probably never will. Give it a try.
It leaves a stronger impression than 90% of manga and anime on the market.
>terrible at remembering things
>legit learning disability
>still immediately recognize a secondary character from a manga i read like 7 years ago
Weird which things that sticks with you.
That's some beautiful progression.
honestly prefer 2nd one
has way more charm to it
Hunterfag (yes, singular) isn't even hiding his pleb status anymore
>I* can't stop winning
Stop pretending there's more than one of you
It's one of the extra pages on the final chapter of the series
seethe harder
Bump
Cope
this was at his 7yo, right?
Volumes 8-10 are the best. He's got a sort of Monkey Punch character face in those and it helps keep him distinct. Volume 33 is the worst, seriously what the fuck happened to his chin and jaw?
>Giorno with visible forehead
god no, his hair looks like a damn flat top with a rat tail.
I can't see the whole post. I need a wider monitor.
No, it won't be.
Practice until your fingers bleed, then bandage them up and keep practicing. The man's work ethic must be insane.
And now it looks like shit.
>improved
Fuck no.
>artists who have significantly changed their art style over time
Sure thing
Why has Ken Akamatsu's art not changed since Love Hina?
ONE came a long way from scribbles to creating kino with it.
masami "sake" kurumada
I've reread Berserk recently and wanna know what astounded me?
MIURA DIDN'T GET BETTER AT ALL!
He didn't get better in 30 years!
How is this even possible?
13
>using less and less screen tone
That's called getting cheap and commercial.
He just started mass producing that shit efficiently instead of putting actual effort into it or paying his assistants.
That's no progression.
The first one was actually drawn with pencils and marker, the later one is CG.
it's called.
"stop hiding mistakes with colors" too.
Middle one best.
>from badass to gay
Which is why I never picked up this show/manga.
The power of hiatus.
Nah, he's very androgynous at the start 2bh.
Middle and second to last are the best.
Big improvement. Though both a qt.
How does your art style change if you never fucking draw?!
Perfect now.
by forget how to draw because you don't do it.
>dat feel when nihei learned how to draw attractive character for his least popular work because daughter made fun of his earlier ones
KNIGHTS KNIGHTS KNIGHTS
Kinda hard to improve when you started at god-tier level, though.
I admit it wouldn't be easy, but 30 years...
another matter is consistency of style, of course:
Miura is incredibly consistent, but he sacrificed his improvement potential.
I'm not too critical of his epic spreads and such anyway, but his QUALITY is very much the same still. The basic panels still are basic as before.
lmao what is this deviantart shit
user, you might be retarded
20-24 a best
>The basic panels still are basic as before.
I think that's just the paneling he wants for Berserk. Check out his Gigantomachia if you haven't already. It's a lot more dynamic.
>Gives Sidonia a shitty, rushed ending because his family were too stupid to understand it and his daughter asked him when he was going to make a good manga, like Shingeki no Kyojin
I will never not be mad.
Murata was still building the new foundation for OPM during the first few volumes. You can see that he played with lots of effects and character features until he found the designs that clicked.
But yeah, Murata has always been consistently high-tier since Eyeshield and doesn't seem to have sloped downward once in his career of illustrating. It's quite impressive. I think it's because he probably still takes classes.
Togashi has to be the most disappointing, going from Miura-level work in YYH to very simplified forms and designs in HxH. Miura himself remains a mystery. It's like he just got tired of drawing and is now looking for shortcuts, but oddly enough he still wants it to be high quality, but it looks 'off'.
>going from Miura-level work in YYH
I wouldnt go that far.
Vinland Saga is one of the more radical examples, but came more down to manga not being on weekly schedule like it used to.
That doesnt even look like the same character.
Someone post sui ishida's declining art in tg and tg re
Plebs who have only read 5 manga like you shitpost because you are unfamiliar with advanced composition, this doesn't make Togashi a bad artist.
Now, let me dissect, both the art and storytelling of this very panel from chapter 352 page 19, to demonstrate why Togashi is seen as one of the best artists in the industry.
>A. The general clutter of the panel and floaty-ness of the character art shows how chaotic the setpiece is, and how Hisoka's mind is narrowing down to focus solely on Chrollo's devious tactics. As if time was slowing down for this train-of-thought.
>B. The white space behind Hisoka's head is used to show how empty of other subjects besides this battle his mind is. Narrowing down to the basics of the fight.
>C. We are then brought back to Hisoka's face, which expresses a mixture of smug surprise, and devilish determination. And swirling in front of him and as well as (seemingly) to his side is a menacing smog. Which has typically been used to communicate blood-lust in this manga.
There is much more into the art of drawing than having detailed realistic figures, fucking retard knows nothing about paneling and composition. Suck Osamu Tezuka's rotten, worm-dwelled, dead dick.
You're right, it's better. And so is Level E + HxH.
>Gigantomachia
hold on, bakayaro. you're telling me miura has a new manga?
I read it and enjoyed it very much.
Good argument actually...
Gigantomachia showed his growth.
It's pretty short, but yeah, he made it as a side project some years ago.
What's he doing working on things that aren't Berserk?
>plebs ... like you (assumption) [I-know-better]
>[I-like-the-sound-of-my-own-voice], [I-like-the-taste-of-my-own-cum], {let-me-tell-you-why}
>[broad worthless statement] {extreme comparison}, (insult)
Your composition sucks, user. You should see an editor about helping you draft you properly draft your story board.
I've never actually read the manga so this is new to me.
I will never forget an user who summarised Jojo as follows
>JoJo is about a mangaka struggling with his latent homosexuality
I will never stop posting to remind you that if you like jojo, you are a latent or outright homosexual.
>U suck
Is this how deep brainlets arguments go?
Read it. Togashi's stylistic range is breathtaking.
He is known for publishing sketches in JUMP and polishing them later for the volume releases. His sketches are really poor, and not really excusable.
Absolutely seething
>S-SHUT UP!!!
So this is the intellectual peak of mumblers.
>I will never stop posting to remind you that if you like jojo, you are a latent or outright homosexual.
That's actually you though. You're projecting, you see?
I unironically like i've and never touched anything related to HxH
ONE (2010) is still better than mines.
>malepatternbaldness.png
>Togashi is a bad arti-
Shame Erina Shrank because she's pretty much all but confirmed to be winning the Soumab owl
but he went from generic bland faces to actually finding his own unique style. the problem is, he's rather inconsistent and often times just drew lazy sketches with cluttered panels towards the end. it's why cochlea arc is seen as peak tg art see
>i knew kids in 6th grade that could draw better.
There are people that can draw photo realistic drawings and paintings, doesnt mean they make good manga. And I hate SNK.
Bald Sena on the left.
Brainlets/newfags tend to think realistic illustrations = good manga artist, that's why all of those "manga art" threads are nothing but overdrawn digital two page spreads.
It's also why normalfags think Berserk has good art when Miura can't compose a page to save his life.
Err, well, copying some dude from 500 years ago and doing a worse job of it.. is not exactly impressive, although those old masters sometimes spent years on a single piece.
How a piece of art looks isn't the only way to judge how good it looks, retard.
Not only is the lineart, shading and use of watercolors masterful but it's intertwined with the narrative beautifully.
Nihei's old style would have been awesome for a manga set in the Alien universe.
Are there any for Kazuhiro Fujita? I might make one myself it not, just to see how he's changed over the years.
>how my painting looks doesn't matter
Excuse you?
Is this a joke?
I detest this word but, man, this is pretentious.
To such an extent that I will save the picture for future use in cringe threads.
How is copying stuff or including established symbolism remarkable anyway?
I'm not saying it's bad but you're acting like one of the people going nuts over Evangelions symbolism.
