Paprika was Kon's best work. Prove me wrong.

Perfect Blue exists.
Paranoia Agent >>> all the movies
Perfect Blue followed by Millennium Actress as a close second.
Why do you think so OP?
Tokyo Godfathers > Perfect Blue > Millennium Actress > [power gap] > Paprika > Paranoia Agent
B-but that was Perfect Blue, user
It had Susumu Hirosawa's best musical scores. The choreography for scenes like the "parade" is unmatched by Kon's other works (though the "chase" scene from Millennium Actress came close). It's whimsical and fantastical and dark, without going into Perfect Blue levels of angst and edge. It wonderfully subverts expectations by having the heroine end up with the fat nerd instead of the chad police officer.
Every work his best work.
True. It's fun, because it's made with Paprika's leftovers
>Perfect Blue levels of angst and edge
Do you even know the meaning of the words youre using or do you just fire buzzwords randomly?
I'm not saying that Perfect Blue was bad, but you can't deny that it's pretty fucking angsty.
What? Wasn't the movie all a police officer's dream?
Problems with Paprika:
1.If the detective is awake he shoudn't be able to see Paprika, but dott.Chiba
2.classic shonen villain who wants to controll the world
3.the parade is most most stupid thing I've ever seen in an anime movie...
4.Internet bartenders entr the dream world
5.Except from the fact that Chiba reveals her love for the fat man, there is not character development in the movie. Except from the detective, the only one who had an epiphany at the end of the movie. And here, again, he sees his old friend in the "real world".
Switch perfect blue and actress and I agree with this 100%
I'd say it's up there, but it depends on how much you like the themes of the movie compared to the other works by Kon.
For me it's up there with Tokyo Godfathers.
Brainlet post, lurk two more years before posting again.
explain yourself, next time
Millennium Actress.
>the parade is most most stupid thing I've ever seen in an anime movie...
It's supposed to be bizarre, moron.
it's supposed to remind this...
>1.If the detective is awake he shoudn't be able to see Paprika, but dott.Chiba
Incorrect, you do not understand what the DC mini does and you do not recognize a common motif in dreams. Further Paprika and Chiba are not the same person.
>2.classic shonen villain who wants to controll the world
Incorrect, he wants to overcome his physical issues by using the dream world
>3.the parade is most most stupid thing I've ever seen in an anime movie...
It sure was bizarre.
>4.Internet bartenders entr the dream world
And? You can't dream about internet bartenders, when you recently met them? Also, you still don't recognize a common motif in dreams and what the DC mini is actually capable of.
>5.Except from the fact that Chiba reveals her love for the fat man, there is not character development in the movie. Except from the detective, the only one who had an epiphany at the end of the movie. And here, again, he sees his old friend in the "real world".
What kind of character development do you want?
Chiba comes to terms with Paprika. The detective overcomes his trauma and solves his crime.
That's all that really county.
Try watching film by actually looking at the screen and understanding what you see, instead of looking for stupid nitpicks
>solves his crime
what crime?
I can, because I don't think it is. Again, how is it angsty?
I have to scream because I don't know who I am and I don't know what's real, but I'm not even allowed to make a sound in my apartment so I have to sink my face in the bathtub and screech out my anguish in a flurry of bubbles.
CRAWLING IN MY SKIIIIN
>you still don't recognize a common motif in dreams and what the DC mini is actually capable of
explain me please
There is No power gap for Satoshi Kons kino
there all so good
This. Millennium Actress is his best work. Literally brings a tear to my eye.
TG >MA>PB>P
Tokyo godfather's has all the stuff that's great in Kons other films but with more characters. Also it's funny.
Such a bummer he died so early and couldn't even finish his last project. Imagine what he could have made by now...
>Paranoia Agent
It's the only Kon shit that I haven't watched yet. Looking forward to it.
That's Fair really
I'v watched Tokyo Godfathers at least 3 times
