>they don’t really make the sound
Disappointing. Maybe closer up they do
Recognised that little bit of woodland before I saw the title. I've got to go to Militracks and see the great krad migration one of these days
Sounds just like in the anime, if you ask me. Except at higher RPMs and, you know, less lonely.
Maybe that’s the problem, there’s more than one
I wouldn't call that a problem.
My gramps has had one of these stuffed into a barn with a bunch of other shit for about 30 years. I thought it was so cool as a kid, though it’s never moved from that spot. Ended up watching GLT purely because I heard they drove one in it. Was not disappointed
It was for poland, back in 39
But the kettenkrad didn't enter service until -41?
Also I doubt a slow, unarmed bike intended for transport was high on the list of problems Poland had

Not trying to fuck the Soviets as hard as possible back in 1921 was one of the worst decisions of the whole XXth century, on par with attacking Pearl Harbor when CVs were out on a stroll and letting Mandela out
Not nuking Soviets continuously starting from 1945 was a much worse decision. It's not like Poland could invade USSR in 1921.
>your grampa will never send you on a quest to reach the tallest point in the city in the kettenkrad he has stuffed in a barn
You are right, he won’t. Because he has that boomer “imma fix that someday” mentality even though 3 decades have passed now and not one thing in that barn has moved. So it will just sit in there till he dies, then probably get sent to the scrap heap when the kids are cleaning shit out
Wish us mike, panzer chuda

you better save that shit
>its the one thing I want okay
I actually do want it, I have a lot of good memories as a kid sitting on it and pretending like I was tearing ass around the back yard or some shit. Even if i do get it though, I don’t know much about fixing vehicles, and I’m sure finding parts for it isn’t a trip to auto zone.
>I don’t know much about fixing vehicles
time to learn
>I'm sure finding parts for it isn't a trip to auto zone
you'd be surprised
Not him but he is right, there’s no way you are going to go into any auto parts store and say you want parts for a Kettenkrad and having anyone understand what you want. That said, since it’s a military vehicle, there are likely ample surplus parts for them on the Internet. Price might be up there though, especially since most of it will likely ship from Germany
Any chance we could get some pics fren?
Military vehicle restoration has a good community. They will help you.
the only thing he will have trouble with is engine bearings, everything else is easy
cnc copper headgasket, make a gasket in cork and paper material for everything else (make sure to use aviation cement), you can custom order pistons, piston rings, conrods and crankshafts, you can sleeve a block if its cracked
filters he would be able to find an equivalent using calipers to find the thread (probably BSP), front tire/tire tube, electrical stuff and paint is super easy and definitely available at autozone as well as all the fluids and lubricants you could need
wheel/shaft/gearbox bearings he just has to take to a bearing supplier and they'll find one the same internal and external sizes in the same style

they were actually starting to push them back into Soviet territory before the Soviets called for a ceasefire

Also most soldiers were on normal bicycles and the guns were towed by horses.
