after rereading berserk for a few weeks now, I started replaying the ps4 one and I must say, golden age is better than the rest. I read it first when I was 16, now Im 32 and it's brilliant. can't believe Miura wrote it himself, let alone basing it on what, imagination only? topics are very mature, even when the style changes, after locus was introduced when I read yesterday, I had to read the latest one. very cool how elfhelm is done just right, how Flora is implied to be the last flower king is also done well.

BERSERK IS A BLAST EVERY YEAR I READ IT FOR 15 Years now.

I cannot find the original now. Basically, in the original edit the guy was thinking that no girl would be interested in him and she was just mocking him by smiling at him. Then there was an extra panel at the end revealing all of this to be the delusion of fat, ugly neckbeard and the girl was actually disgusted by him.

You know, the one thing that still bothers me about Berserk is that we never were told why Guts' original family was hanged.

It's not really important. It's really just meant to establish that even from birth Guts was fighting against fate by managing to survive after his mother was hanged with him in the womb.

I know, but it makes me wonder. Were they unlucky? Traitors? Were they victims of the war Gambino was in? Is Guts' father still alive?

They were in a battlefield. Ordinary people were hanged all the time if they were thought to be potential traitors, if they didn't give up their livestock easily enough, etc. It would feel cheap if they went back and tried to give it some sort of significance.

I think it could just be that the artstyle is different. Guts looks significantly different. It could also be psychological, she just spent years watching her body being lived in, being separated for a reason she doesn't know. Now she has to resume control in a strange world after so much has happened, she's probably scared.
