there's relatively few asspulls in HxH compared to other shonen, I don't see what you're on about. Bleach, Naruto, Dragon Ball, YYH, One Piece, they're all chalked full of asspulls, meanwhile there's like 5 debatable ones in HxH

Someone said the only thing keeping HxH going is the asspulls while so many other shonen the only thing that kept them going were never ending power-ups from the MCs even if it meant brushing off all other side characters into irrelevancy. HxH has a good thing going where it never really reached a power-creep besides post-rose Meruem and even then he died a few hours later to poison while playing chess and never even crossed paths with the MC. People can bitch about HxH asspulls all they want but as a shonen it never reached the point of any other shonen where it always ends up as MC vs the big bad every arc where power levels are just infinitely higher every time. This is partly why people like HxH over other shonen and don't even thing it should be published in WSJ
