Why do people hate anime so much?

I'm pretty sure most normalfags have watched at least one anime at this point.

This is slightly off-topic, but even a lot of people that play JRPG seem to be allergic to modern anime that aren't MHA or AoT, especially anime/games with "moe", "sexualisation" and "otaku pandering". As long as those things are around, I don't see normalfags ever getting properly into anime.

Here's an interesting idea. Anime already destroys the feminist narrative that "men hate powerful women", or "men hate it when the main heroine is a woman". I wonder how would feminists explain the popularity of anime in general if that indeed was the case. I think that what I actually hate is when the entire story and characterisation is completely botched in favor of ostentatiously pushing a political narrative.

I'm pretty sure I know enough people that haven't watched any TV series though.
Maybe it doesn't help that when I was younger the only anime I recall being on TV was Akira so I don't think many got a chance to watch any of the kids anime series.
